Well that’s my biggest (and best) trip of the year over. I know Alton received some criticism for their choice of lighting in certain areas, but the whole atmosphere was just incredible. Day 1 I arrived at the park just after 4.00 and headed straight for Forbidden Valley. I did Nemesis several times and then made my way over to Air. I don’t normally bother with Air, but the park was quiet, so thought it’d be a shame not to have a ride. The queue for the front row was only around 15 minutes. It was starting to get dark by now, so I took the Skyride over to Dark Forest for a ride on Th13teen in the dark - fantastic as always! The queue for Rita was prett…

If you read my 'More Flags More Fun' trip report you'd know I had meant to meet up with someone to go round the park with but she failed. Well this was an unplanned trip that fixed that! Hoorah. Something that I don't have a picture of is the stunning lake that is literally right next to the rides (Canobie Lake Park.. duh). But yeah it was a beautiful setting. Arrived at 4, left at 7:30 after getting on everything we wanted including re-rides. Untamed This Gerstlauer Eurofighter was my second after Saw so I was naturally expecting a rough ride. I think it has the same layout as Rage, if you've ridden that! It was good! There were one or two 'rattley' t…

Trip report of Six Flags New England 14/10/12 I knew I was going to the park for ages and ages and despite arranging to meet up with someone, people fail at organising themselves and all that so at the last minute my dad said he'd be happy to take me! Whatever, I'm going to Six Flags so I'm happy! Park was advertised as open from 12-9 so I arrived at 12ish, greeted with a cheeky $20 parking fee the day wasn't looking very promising. Having visited Six Flags Elitch Gardens as a child and Six Flags Magic Mountain in a previous post-summer time to find horrific ride reliability, poor theming, incredibly slow operations, and Thorpe Park standard rudeness from employees et…

Tulleys farm is one of the biggest scare attractions of 2012! With 6 mazes and many roaming we were in for a fright as we arrived at tulleys farm's preview night! Below are reviews of 5 mazes! Due to the fact that the review has spoilers, the whole reviews are going to be in spoiler tags! Enjoy Sadly due to the fact that I am not 15 I was refused entry into the maze! Bit of a bummer actually as 15 is a 'recommended age' not a set age!

Oh my god what a great day! I had no problems at all - well, the only one was The Swarm - it just fitted me! Nemesis Inferno at the front was easy to put over me, as was Saw (awesome ride). Stealth was absolutely brilliant - so much better than I expected! Can't wait to go back think gonna get fast passes because the queses are so annoying!

Ahhhhh, now this I've been looking forward to for a while now, especially after the original date for this trip was cancelled due to my appendix deciding to commit suicide... So this trip was rebooked, and the excitement built up once again... I vaguely remember my trip to Europa 4 years ago, when Silver Star was king, and a demonstration of the constantly moving (if maze-like) queues were abound on every single ride on park... Since then of course, Iceland and it's two coasters have appeared, so as such, it was time to revisit and do it properly... 3 days, on site... Hell yeah... The plan for departure was simple, leave in the middle of the day, get to the hotel mid-…

It's been a long seven years since I last visited the Pleasure Beach. Back when I was a 17 year old I hurt my back viciously on the Big One, got thrilled within an inch of my life on a rainy Grand National, spun on Spin Doctor, Dazzled by Bling and thrown into another galaxy on Space Invader. But how had the park changed since 2005? Compared to my 2005 trip, the weather was beautiful. Sure it was dark and gloomy compared to the sunny South but it wasn't raining which really helped the atmosphere. One thing though, the park was very busy but thanks to the huge amounts of rides, shows and attractions queues were kept on the lowish side. So where to start? Oh yeah The …

Thorpe Park - Thursday 13th September 2012 'Cast' - James (Me) - Loves theme parks, and will grab at any and every opportunity to get some ride time! Giordan - My closest friend, loves the Disney theme parks and skipped college for this trip! Ash - Giordan's brother. Fellow Queens Park Rangers supporter, and all round good guy. Emily - Ash's girlfriend. Serial on-ride screamer! This was my first trip to Thorpe Park since July, and my first trip for sometime going with friends. Usually, my trips to theme parks are with family! I managed to save up the tokens that were in The Sun recently, and was given this date to go in return. Any chance to go to a theme park…

Hi Guys, Today I visited Six flags great adventure in jackson, New Jersey (22 August 2012). We arrived at the park thinking that well that it's the end of the summer holidays and that it should be pretty quiet like the time I visited six flags magic mountain at the same time last year. But it was packed, so I decided to go and buy a platinum fast pass which cost me $120 which wasn't bad. With the platinum flash pass the wait time is cut by 90% which means you kinda get straight on which was great, you also receive a wristband which you show to the dispatch team on the ride to ride a second time without queueing again, this was a great idea. I really loved six flag's fas…

The swarm effects are finally working as the LED'S on the trains are on and the fire effect is working. I don't have many pics as my camera died. And for the eagle eyed people LCXII on the toilets is the project name for the swarm. The ride DVD's are now available although not for the front row.

Stealth Owl and myself are planning a trip to the 2 parks mentioned on Saturday & Sunday August 11th & 12th and was wondering if any TPM members would be wanting to join us. We both really enjoyed the meet with TPM back in march and it would be great to see some of you guys again. We will be visiting Fantasy Island on the Saturday, travelling for an overnight stay in Hull Travelodge on Saturday night, and then onto Flamingo Land on the Sunday. If anyone wants to join us, please comment below.

Just got back from a fantastic trip to Europa Park. Seriously makes the UK parks seem poor in terms of the way they are run and themed. The park is just beautiful, flowers everywhere, lovely buildings and very picturesque. It was a bit tricky finding your way around the park but with two monorails and a railway with trains every 5 - 10 minutes you could just jump on and see where it took you. What's also nice is that although very busy the queues move very fast as all rollercoasters have at least 3 cars. Most many more. The trains are dispatched extremely fast too, I counted 25 seconds on Alpenexpress (Runaway train) between lap bars going up from previous ride to the…

So, during half term Me and my cousin (Lukeeeeeee) went to Germany. Not for the culture or sausages, but for the Theme Parks In this topic I will post my trip reports and videos (once edited) from the trip. PART 1: Movie Park Germany! I was quite surprised with how good this park actually was. Sure, the coasters might not be the best, but the dark rides are amazing. The full trip report can be found here WARNING: very picture and text heavy (over 2000 words), just how you like it.

So that myself and Nicky could celebrate our completion of university, a plan was formed to go on a brief holiday. As the original plans of Europa fell through, and the gleam of a shiny new B&M to much to resist, an alternative to Asterix and Plopsaland was booked. Are you sitting comfortably? Then let's begin... Day 1 - Travel and Plopsaland So an early 4am start led to a drive down to Folkestone where the train awaited. After a relatively simple crossing and brief stopover at CiteEurope, we began the drive towards Belgium and the first destination, Plopsaland. It's easy to get to, as the Tunnel plonks you onto the approriate motorway and the directions are o…

Yes I really struggled this time with an appropriate title for the trip topic. I did my best but hey ho. Well, for my birthday, a trip to PortAventura was planned. Shambhala was a big part of this decision, but also ever since I was 16 I wanted to ride Dragon Khan. It was up there with Kraken and Nemesis as a ride that I wanted to do at all costs. So with hence our trip was planned. Getting to the park is a breeze and luckily our room had a fantastic view, overlooking the park. Seeing Shambhala and Khan together, along with Stampida, El Diablo and a hint of Furius Baco was enough to please me for the time being. So along came day one in the park. People are in upr…

So my annual trip to Alton Towers occured over the Diamond Jubilee and for the first time in 5 years we visited Warwick Castle and Blackpool Pleasure Beach. We set of Saturday morning to the hotel when my dad surprised us with a visit to Warwick Castle. It's such a great place. Every staff member is in costume which just makes the place so unique (for Merlin anyway). As we only had 3 hours to spend there we passed on the Castle Dungeon and Merlin Tower thing and headed straight for the birds of prey show whci were all eagles. It was a great show and they really make the eagles fly low over your heads which makes everyone duck and dive. We were told that one of the eagles …

You always know a year is going to be good when you start off with a new B&M, 30 miles up the road from where you live. To continue the momentum, a trip to Paris and Parc Asterix was planned quite swiftly to experience OzSiris, a brand new custom made B&M inverter. The first day of the trip was seeing all the Parisian sights. Our first adventure was to the Louvre. We didn't go in due to it being far later (and more expensive then we thought) so we instead walked up the Arc de triumphe. I'll be frank when I say things are big in Paris. The Arc de Triumphe, Notre Dame and the Eifel Tower can be seen from all around and for me personally, I really admire the effort a…

So, I have been up to see Ben for the past four days and during that time we went to Fantasy Island, Skegness and Alton Towers. I thought rather than doing just a Towers trip report, I may as well mention FI and Skeggy, plus the Capriolo we went on at a fair on the way back, it totally deserves a mention! Fantasy Island...hmm well it was fun, that's all there is to say really! The rides aren't bad, the place is a bit random though; they have a market there which makes it feel pretty tacky and you get some strange, shouty people! And it's quite strange seeing a main road basically going through the place! My favourite ride there was probably The Beast, best topscan I'v…

So, from 2-6 April I spent a week in Blackpool with family and friends, this was my first visit to Blackpool, and we had a great time. We didn't really anticipate that there would be so much to do in Blackpool, we ended up doing something every day with stuff still left to do, a great excuse to go back again next year or sooner! Revolution is looking very nice in it's new colours, they were painting continuously throughout the week, removing the scaffolding quickly too. On the Monday I went into PBB for an hour or so just to do the Big One... You can read my review of that in the main PB topic. On Tuesday we did as many Merlin attractions as possible, and did all …

I'd heard all the reviews, seen all the pictures and eventually saw it for myself yesterday. I also want to point out there will be spoiler throughout. With sky-high expectations I was amazed to find that they still blown out of the water, the place is quite frankly unbelievable. The only problem is that it highlighted just how lacking in quality Alton/Thorpe/Chessington and other UK attractions really are. We arrived about quarter to 10, with the park having opened at 9 and headed to where else but Black Mamba. "Best Coaster in Europe" and other similar claims surround this ride, and I was glad to hear I wouldn't be disappointed. Unbelievably, for me, it topped Nemesis, …
