  1. I went today, and the operations where a tad sloppy.. On Inferno it took like 10 minutes to load a train, due to the staff fannying about..

TBH I don't why they just knocked down Storm Surge instead of Loggers closure. I don't think anyone would care if Storm Surge was gone, where Log Flumes are pretty popular. But at least they've started the refurbishment, some overgrown plants, some neglected Q-line, and no progress at all! Got to love merlin..

Nah, I want Nemesis Alive, oh wait...
  4. Millennium Force, Expedition GeForce and Fury 325 say hi!
  5. Yeah the UK does lack a good airtime filled ride. Its quite sad TBH that some of our best airtime is from gerstlauer.. Something like Lightning Run at Kentucky Kingdom would be nice, there not very tall, there cheap, and they seem to be airtime machines! But at least it looks like SW8 has a airtime filled layout..

The ride names at Thorpe are gonna be changed so people who speak chav can understand.. "the smiller" - Saw The Ride "that fast one" -Stealth "darren brown's ghost train"- DBGT "the one with the weird seats fam"- The Swarm "That coaster that has 10 loops m8" - Colossus
  7. I gotta say I do fear that this maze being related to DBGT might be a curse. But hopefully they do something unique with this one, as most of thorpes mazes have been very cookie cutter lately.. They really need to push the boat out this year, and try to do scares which are not just "Boo". Also how there gonna fit BWP and this in a similar area is gonna be interesting..
  8. I went around a week ago after a 4 hour drive. Skyforce was a really great flat IMO, and Vahalla was as good as always But oh god was Infusion unbearable, due to the restraints the lift hill caused discomfort... So the main ride was just... Also the food was utter sh*t, It actually made me appreciate the food at the Merlin Parks.. But Wild Mouse/Grand National made the trip worth it, plus SkyForce was a great flat.

New for Theme Parks in the UK 2017: Alton Towers- SW8, the worlds first coaster themed to Eastenders! With VR and low throughput in true Alton Towers style! Thorpe Park- "steel roller coaster1", Awful name, no theming, inspired by Cedar Point. Blackpool Pleasure Beach- "Sprite Speed Coaster", the parks new Mack-Mega, it has the Fizzy Drinks advertisement in the true BPB spirit! The coaster will be themed to sprite, and have trains based on sprite cans. Chessington- Nothing, maybe a hotel or something the park does not need. While the rest of the park rots.. Legoland- Ghost-The Haunted House I had way too much fun making this post..
  10. New for 2017 At Alton Towers: Air V2, The worlds first coaster to dedicate itself to VR, then hastily abandon it a year later.
  11. Also being a RAP user, on Inferno they have always asked me to go in the back row. If you ask you may be able to, but the force isn't that drastic anyways. But if your really anxious then you'll probably be able to.
  12. TBH I think Thirteen's downfall was the marketing, not the ride. But for a family coaster it is pretty fun. Anyway at Thorpe I think a family coaster could be likely, so maybe a tame Mack Mega? Maybe Something like Manta at Seaworld San Diego would be a good fit for the park IMO.
  13. Its surely unique and initiative, but there are some problems which simply cannot be ignored. The VR will be good for now, but when VR starts to take off it might get outdated. Plus it may be a maintenance nightmare, with the complexity of the attraction. Even though I think DBGT is a great attraction, I can see why people criticize it.

Maybe not exactly half, but its pretty clear the park is pretty neglected by Merlin. But the removal of Bubbleworks is a step in the right direction IMO, even though the ride is very nostalgic for some people.

But then again small woodies can have good layouts.. White Lightning anyone? If they want to make a Family woodie at least give it a good layout.
  16. Wow.. Did by chance a 3 Year Old design the layout of SW8? Jokes aside, looks like a beauty of a GCI. The main layout looks great, but the shed section seems to be interesting.

I like the Saw IP, what would be a awful Eurofighter is decent because of the first half and the theming. Anyway back to Bubbleworks! Its sad to see it go, but its got worse and lost its magic over the years. I think its a decent investment to update or replace a old dark ride like Bubbleworks. I hope these types of investments continue, as half of the park is in the state of disrepair.

Isn't just merlin TBH. If you look at halloween events worldwide, Clown/Circus based mazes are very common. Mainly due the common fear of the clowns as Amarghh said.
  19. Thanks for teaching me! Your post does come off a bit condescending.. And my post was MY OPINION. I'm not calling your opinion wrong, maybe mine will change when I go back to BPB in a week or so. My post was admittedly badly phrased, but yeah of course I wouldn't know what "opinion" means on a internet forum FULL OF THEM.
  20. My short review of DGBT: Overall I had mixed feelings on the attraction. I found the attraction did rely too much on VR for scares, and the end of the attraction didn't explain much.. We where attacked by aliens and thrown into a pit at the end of the attraction, then it just seems to abruptly end.. Also the section outside the train was poorly done IMO, the section could do with some more "monsters" and some more panic and intensity. There wasn't much explaination to the attraction IMO, And the ending didn't seem to end the story with anything that made any sense.. Though the theming, the illusion of the train moving, the decent VR, and the scares towards the end redeem it. It didn't mindblow me or anything, but its well themed and unique, and It also fits Thorpe really well. 7/10
  21. Because a rough dull Arrow Hyper is better than a alright B&M. Also does that mean Infusion is better than Galactica? Ok Galactica is a little slow, but at least its not as rough as Infusion.
  22. Pretty poor investment IMO. In recent years they have already invested in accommodation, also there in desperate need of Family rides/Flat Rides CBeebies Land is obviously very popular, but it seems like the park are investing in the polar opposite of what they need. What is they thrill flat ride lineup now? Enterprise, The Blade, (which is on its way out anyways)..

I had to update it after going to Portaventura recently. My Top Ten Roller Coasters In Europe: 10. Stampida: After riding it back in 2013 and hating it, it seemed to be a lot smoother after riding it recently. The layout is great, the dueling element is cool, and the ride is fun. 9. Furius Baco: The definition of "Marmite" in the enthusiast community, so people love it, some people hate it. I'm on the side of liking it, mainly for the launch, and the hangtime on the Inline Twist. 8. The Swarm: Great Theming, smooth, fun. But a little short, and IMO forceless. 7. Dragons Khan: A fun and very forceful B&M. 6. Silver Star: Has a few good moments, just very weak Airtime compared to Shambhala. 5. Wodan: A very fun GCI, just a overall solid woodie. 4.The Smiler: Such a great coaster. Great theming, long layout. 3. Nemesis: Should I even explain? 2. Blue Fire: Smooth as butter, also pretty well paced. Plus the inversions are so fun due to the restraints. 1. Shambhala: After riding it a few days ago... Shambhala is like a heaven to people who love floater airtime.

But then again the mazes at Scarefest are way more Quality IMO. Even though Scarefest is quite expensive, its worth the money. Very Original..
  25. Well at least the new ride will probably have a better throughput than Galactica.
