yeah
One reason I don't think Air will be VR: One of the mask things will fall off.

Matt 236
It's good to see Towers hopefully sorting out one of their lesser themed coasters (except Rita), however they need to do s good job with improving this in order to bring back guests next year. The tunnel will be the answer to as whether the changes will be a good thing.
EC!
Really looking forward to this. It will be great to see air looking a lot better then it is at the moment. Probably won't be open for Feb though but I'm happy that they are giving it a bit of love OldFarmerDean
Liam T
The new Alton Towers edited 2016 logo URL says 'Air-Space-Logo', could Air be going to space?! Would make sense with the rumoured VR headsets, which would make that possible... also remove the air tunnel problem by not being able too see it
Mark9
http://www.altontowers.com/2016 Get.... Hyped? No. I'm hoping it's a touch up and a retheme of sorts. JoshC.
The new Alton Towers edited 2016 logo URL says 'Air-Space-Logo', could Air be going to space?! Didn't Merlin recently trademark some space-like names (Galactica or something)? Could add up! Liam T
Whatever
Personally, I like Air as it is, but too many people do think it is too bland, and it does deserve more theming! I'm hoping that they don't change too much though... Kerfuffle, OldFarmerDean and Ian-S
Coaster
Air as a thrill coaster sends me to sleep, but I don't think I would want a VR headset on it - unless it is optional.

Mark9
Air as a thrill coaster sends me to sleep, but I don't think I would want a VR headset on it - unless it is optional. It's not a thrill coaster and it has never been advertised as one.

Least you know how we feel about PMBO... I'm not a fan of this VR stuff, just screams as an easy cop-out for lazy operators to not put any effort into the ride... pluk, OldFarmerDean, pognoi and 1 other
Coaster
Least you know how we feel about PMBO...Haha, I've always said that everyone is entitled to their own opinion! It is advertised on the map as a thrill ride I think, it is really more of a family ride but the height restriction is too high. OldFarmerDean
It is one of their big rides which sort of makes it a thrill ride in Alton towers' eyes... And by that logic so does 13. Air isn't that scary and I do find it pretty boring... But if it was more immersive with themeing like it was supposed to have originally or even something new then I look forward to it! pognoi
Th13teen is absolutely thrilling don't even start. I enjoy air, it's fun over anything else though. Nothing particularly intense or incredible (besides being the first of it's kind!) however as a different experience of ride it works, it just doesn't slot into forbidden valley very well (although I've always pictured it as an oasis at the bottom of like a fall-out ridden valley...) OldFarmerDean
Wasn't air supposed to be the oasis the other side of forbidden valley... The good side - if it was actually themed with water features and lots of plants etc. Then it would have looked so nice, but it's just sort of feels out of place as it wasn't done properly and there we no story :/ pognoi

Coaster
Where is it advertised on the map as a thrill ride?I seem to remember it being on the ride list a few years ago (back when they categorised them as thrill and family rides rather than by area). pognoi
It is still categorized as a thrill ride on the website OldFarmerDean and slendercat
Tom
I'm guessing that's more to do with the height restriction Can't really say something is a family ride when it has a 1.4m restriction I find the section on your back a bit intense and can imagine someone under 1.4 finding it uncomfortable to say the least pluk
OlivusPrime
Thought I'd post these here as I scoured the net for a decent Air logo for a while before scanning one in from a ride photo and de-backgrounding it. These were done very hastily and sloppily before anyone complains about how messy they are. yeah
yeah
Does anyone have the original Air plans? Ive heard it was meant to be really well themed and I want to see what was meant to happen.
