April 23, 201114 yr comment_114165 I find the back rows on Colossus painful last time, my parents suffered neck ache, and I did for the first time D:
May 29, 201114 yr comment_116799 Does anybody know what is wrong with the wheelchair lift on this ride? It's been "unavailable" on the last 2 visits where I've been really weak and then had to struggle up the exit steps.
May 29, 201114 yr comment_116802 I can't remember the last time I saw it it working.Pretty sure it's been 'unavailable' since last season, perhaps even since 09 season...
May 29, 201114 yr comment_116807 Yeah been unavailable since before Fright Nights 09, but if you struggle with steps maybe it's wise not to ride, as you'd have to walk down steps in an emergency situation.
May 29, 201114 yr comment_116809 Walking down steps is fine, it's walking up them that's the problem.
May 30, 201114 yr comment_116846 The lift died literally years ago - they've never, ever, bothered to fix it.Kind of like the sexy capers lift. Not that I can ever imagine them needing to ever use it :S
May 31, 201114 yr comment_116858 Posibbly go up the exit if I can remember is just a smooth gradual hill I'm sure the staff wouldn't mind if there's a wheelchair user coming up that way . Especially if lifts broken .
May 31, 201114 yr comment_116859 Does anyone know the offical investment that went into Nemesis Inferno? I was wondering because my freind seems to think it is 6 million but I have also heard it is 10million.Jake
May 31, 201114 yr comment_116862 According to wikipedia it cost 6.5million, not sure if thats true though? Also in the tunnel the mist only appears half way through the tunnel. At the start its just water? I dont remember it being like this last season.
May 31, 201114 yr comment_116868 I think the project as a whole was more than £6.5Million, maybe that's just the trackwork cost, I seem to think the whole project was about £10Million too, you have to remember the Volcano, Groundwork etc.As for the mist... Sounds like it's starting to get clogged again already. It happened last year too, and seasons before that, all Thorpe have to do is keep the pipe that the mist comes out of in good maintenance, like the one on Oblivion, or else you will end up just getting wet from just water coming out.
May 31, 201114 yr comment_116884 I've always heard and thought it cost £8million, which I've thought to be reasonable. :S
May 31, 201114 yr comment_116899 What I fail to understand is the fact that a ride such as Maverick cost 21 million dollars which back in 2007 would have been 11 million pounds. Why then does Thorpe Park have to pay 12 million pounds for a ride that is half the size. I know there a diffrent company but you could also compare it to Colossus which comes from the same company and cost 12 million pounds that is also half the size and uses half the technolgy.jake
May 31, 201114 yr comment_116903 It's for the same reason that people buy Vauxhalls and Fords instead of BMW's and Audis. B&M's are premium range products and what you lose in money, you gain in quality. Colossus has had restraint changes, is considered rough and pops bolts left right and centre.Inferno runs and rarely has technical faults. The example you use of Maverick, that ride was so EXTREME, the inline it originally had was destroying track and train and had to be removed for an S-curve. (Colossus cost 10 million)
May 31, 201114 yr comment_116910 Also, parks tend to bolster up their cost figures of a new ride as it makes for good PR: there is some correlation in the GP's eyes with cost and quality.
May 31, 201114 yr comment_116912 Thanks for clearing that up, its just somthing that has confused me for a few years.Jake
June 1, 201114 yr comment_116963 They were used originally for awesome bass in the station, so the theme really boomed out. I don't really know that much about them myself but as far as I know they no longer use them unfortunately. I'm not too sure why, hopefully another member can enlighten us
June 1, 201114 yr comment_116964 The bass is never on now but still the music sounds fab in the station which is good and better than outside thorpe playing cheryl cole and black eyed peas.
June 1, 201114 yr comment_116979 The Bass Cannons are always still on, but they must have blown or something or maybe just turned down lots. They sound incredibly rattly and are only really noticeable at the start and end of the theme music when you have them long sections of bass playing, they never really hit the lower bass parts anymore. But yeah, they used to give out awesome Bass Inferno's theme music is still by far my favourite of all rides.
June 1, 201114 yr comment_116984 I'd imagine they're not used fully/as intended, as the volcano will now fall apart from the vibrations.
June 1, 201114 yr comment_116993 I believe the amp blew a few years back for them and they haven't fixed them since (maybe because Bose don't sell them anymore). The bass you hear in the station purely comes from the Bose 402 speakers, I should know I own 2 of them!
June 2, 201114 yr comment_116997 I would love for Inferno to go back to 2003 days when the station was completely silent whilst it loaded and only when the train moves does the dispatch theme play. I feel that having music on in a loop and then having no dispatch music at all kills the atmosphere dead.
June 2, 201114 yr comment_117043 This was fixed earlier on in the season but only lasted a brief week or two. Now its back to the area theme playing in the station as well as the area.
