Kerfuffle
Well, according to ride times, The Smiler is open again with a 2 hour queue. The Flume, TH13TEEN and River Rapids are closed
JoshC.
Flume and Rapids don't open till 11 anyway, so that'd be why they're listed as closed. Th13teen is an Intamin, so...

Kerfuffle
Perfect timing. Here we are near the end of the summer holidays and Alton's only water rides (apart from Battle Galleons) are shut. BRILLIANT

Fred
Hey, Don't forget about Ripsaw.. we class that as a water ride, yeah?
stretchy
Even more netting has been added to The Smiler since I was there a week or so ago.The netting now covers ALL of the queue line
Coaster
That's a shame, it ruins the look of the ride to some extent.
Benin
At least no 20ft bolts will be hitting anyone in the queue... Kerfuffle, FrightNights04 and rOsSwA28
pluk
At least no 20ft bolts will be hitting anyone in the queue... Depends which way it falls! I don't get it. It is either safe to stand there or it is not, that net isn't going to stop many small hard things likely to be flung from the ride or the riders and it looks ugly. stretchy
The net is quite strong. I tested it by having it lift me. Inferno
Inferno
It doesn't look that bad really, and if it saves someone from being hit in the face by a phone at 50mph then it's all worth it. When you look up at the nets on other rides (especially Swarm) you always see a lot of stuff up there. So I guess they're worth it.
pluk
I'm not talking about the strength of the net, more the spacing of it. It would be luck if it sopped things like coins, keys and maybe the odd sheered bold, all of which would do you no good at 50mph! Jammy3112
My question is...Why are people even taking loose coins and mobiles on the rides?
Fred
Because they're highly sensible human beings. Wonder if this ride empties peoples pockets, I've never seen/heard stuff flying out on Smiler whereas Air constantly empties peoples pockets! Kerfuffle
Well, my review for The Smiler is finally in... BEST...GOD DAMM...ALTON TOWERS RIDE...EVER! Comparing The Smiler to Nemesis was quite tricky, but out of ten for both, here are my results: The Smiler: 10/10 Nemesis: 9.9/10 I got corrected 3 times yesterday and I have to say, The Smiler is just so fantastic, I was actually close to tears after the first time because of how AMAZING it was!
