Yes it did overly rely on jump scares towards the beginning, but I overall loved the second half when they explained the backstory of the doll, and I thought the acting (even the child acting) was brilliant. Babadook is a really hard target to beat though.. As its one of those movies thats doesn't even have any jump scares but still manages to get under your skin. I'm only scratching the surface of how good that film is.. Its films like The Babadook that reminds me that not all Horror movies are mindless gore torture porn fests..

September 16, 20177 yr comment_252730 Just saw IT last night and I thought it was pretty decent.. The film is pretty relentless, and there isn't really a dull moment in the first half. I just think the film drags on for WAY to long at the end, and I think they could of decreased the use of cheap jump scares in some moments.. The trailer for Jigsaw though was something I have to mention. Never have I ever seen so much laughter in an cinema.. It looks like a great unintentional comedy..

I have to say I didint find IT scare nor were there many jumpy bits, which I think adds to the film rather than doing a paranormal....
September 17, 20177 yr comment_252747 After having ridden Saw - The Ride numerous times (and having gone through Saw Alive once), I thought it would be an idea to watch all the films to understand what the whole ride is about. So after having seen all 7 Saw films, I think it is a brilliant film series. I honestly thought (and I may get burned on a stake for this) that the films got better as they went along (apart from Saw IV) and I felt that the way all the films are linked is effective. Here is my ranking from best to worst: 3D VI V III II IV I I know, the original Saw in last place. It dragged on way too much for my liking. Sorry

Saw IT the day after opening, loved it, found the scares quite comical, acting was great, Skarsgård was fantastic as Pennywise, some bigger events in the books were covered in the films that weren't covered in the miniseries.My biggest issue was that it sometimes felt like you were just waiting for Pennywise to appear on screen, but that might just be a huge compliment to Skarsgård's portrayal of the character.Hoping to head back to the cinema and see IT again, so really enjoyed it!

You could say that... But the ride was the first time I'd ever seen a glimpse of the Saw franchise (the first time I ever heard of the franchise was from TV adverts of the ride in 2009). So Saw The Ride kind of set the benchmark (which might explain why I loved the films so much). I know the ride doesn't perfectly replicate the films, but it's always made sense to me why: the films are an 18 (and that's what most of the franchise is) but the ride isn't, you can't really show a torn off rib cage to 10 year olds.

There was literally no way for me to tell it was the fourth film (seeing as there was no number in the name, and that every other sequel had a number).

It’s even led me to get into a bit of a film noir obsessed phase... such a great genre.
