So who remembers Circus world? You'd have to be over a certain age to remember it considering it closed at the end of 1994. Specifically does anyone remember the play area/ interactive area they had when it first opened 1987-1989 ish.. It was in the 'sideshow' booths around the lands parameter, but they weren't sideshows as in uncharge games but were these soft-play type elements . It included a climbing structure that was inside the entrance towers to the area and included a helter skelter tube slide down the second tower... it was like the parks first soft play BEFORE the long defunct Adventure house soft play area that was in the old Elephant house! …

  2. so...has anyone been to this? considering going tomorrow. was just wondering what the "phobophobia" show entails. it says it's for adults only, and is extreme...should I expect something as extreme as face it alone at Thorpe, or is it just a scarier version of the normal Tombs show? cheers!

So here we go... enough people have ridden both to vote now so which do you prefer? Is it Mack's finest at Blackpool, an airtime filled machine that dives in and out of other rides at Blackpool or the intimate, well themed, atmospheric Wicker Man which sees a return to form for an Alton Towers rollercoaster. Which is your favourite?

I couldn’t find a thread for Coney Beach, so I’ve started one. Not sure how many people have even been to Coney Beach here, but it’s somewhere I’ve been quite a few times since I was little and they have my favourite KMG Afterburner I’ve ever been on: Beach Party! I started this thread because I noticed that Beach Party looks to be up for sale online *cries* (so if anyone wants to buy it for me, I’ll give you free rides on it in my garden ) Jokes aside - if Beach Party really does leave Coney Beach, I will be so sad!

Just a quick one Does anyone else think the name of this category should be UK Attractions, rather than parks? As places like Sealife, Dungeons, Shreks Adventure etc aren't parks.

  6. Hi all, hope you are all well. I'm hoping someone can answer this...……………...so here goes as it's bugging me and trying to find a live video that was hopefully uploaded THAT year. Does anyone know which year it was when they did their annual fireworks, which if I'm remember rightly had something to do with a guy riding ''air'' and holding onto his hat and going back in time? I was thinking somewhere between 2002-2005 but cant remember what year this happened. I know they played ''your disco'' by Randy Jones but that's all I can remember I'm afraid. Can anyone help and does anyone remember what year they did this? …

Surprised nobody has mentioned this. Beach and Bounce has opened at Chessington as shown on social media. I love how they have gone one up on Thorpe by making the bouncy castle 10m longer. Kick in the teeth for Thorpe. Originally it was oddly only for 10 and over but has changed to height of 1.1m with an adult and 1.4m alone. The beach (sponsored by Honest Teas - WHO???? 🤔) looks a nice added touch as well. Looks fun and will certainly be giving it a go. Official site information: https://www.chessington.com/event/1043/beach-bounce.aspx FB post shown below.

  9. Hey guys, I was on a nostalgic binge earlier today and decided to listen to the OST from Futurama The Game. However, after listening to the OST titled "New New York" then I could distinctly hear a section from Air's old soundtrack at 0:42 [Now Galactica] This has made me think if any other music from Alton Towers has been sampled in different media. Does anybody know other examples where music from Alton Towers has been sampled elsewhere? I.e. The black hole's audio being used to promote space mountain

Chessington have been putting alot of new merch out recently, so to go with the Thorpe Park one might as well start a topic! Alot of the new merch has also appeared at Alton and Thorpe, eg. Those weird ride face keyring things and loads of pin badges, however Chessie have put some good stuff out including a lovely magnet feat. Dragon's Fury, Vampire, Black Buccaneer, Kobra, Scorpion Express and Zufari, a new Vampire mug (which is nowhere near as good as the last one), a mug with that promotional image they always use at the start of the adverts and stuff, and alot of Adventure Tree merch. So things are going very well merch wise at Chessington.

  12. Hi guys. In recent weeks, the construction of Hyperia at Thorpe Park has been turning a fair few heads. In particular, the first drop for the ride seems to have garnered a lot of attention, with its sharp vertical profiling and twisting gaining plaudits. That drop certainly looks unique, and I've heard some say that they think it could be one of their favourite first drops in the world! This got me thinking about some of my favourite coaster drops in the UK, so today I ask; what is your current favourite coaster drop in the UK? Personally, I'd have to go for either the first drop of Oblivion at Alton Towers or the first drop of Megafobia at Oakwood. I love the drop …

  13. The occasional part of the Occasional Vlog is back, and with the new Merlin Premier pass in hand it's time to take our adventures beyond just Legoland. This time we hit Chessington and quickly find that there is a lot there, not just for the adrenaline junkies, but for the little ones, and those of us not so adventurous. Check out the latest video, and I'll be trying to get two or three occasional vlogs, alongside Elizabeth's daily vlogs, out per week. Paul the start of something special, occasional vlog #24

The Howl is a fairly new event- debuting in 2015 in Leighton Buzzard, it has slowly became more and more known amongst the community. It is the sister park to Shocktoberfest, so it shares a lot of DNA with its brother. I first visited in 2015 on opening night- I found it to be very fun and had an AMAZING street team, though with its mazes it very much was very similar to Shocktoberfest, which meant that if you had been to Shocktober, you generally knew what to expect. 7 years on, and the event has grown and evolved into its own thing. This year it felt like a total different place to how it was in 2015, it was amazing to see the growth and its unique quirks th…

  15. Hi guys. Since Tussauds' purchase of Thorpe Park in 1998, Chessington & Thorpe Park, two of the UK's largest theme parks, have operated under the same corporate umbrella (Tussauds from 1998 through to 2007, Merlin since 2007) within very little distance of each other; both parks serve the London area, and they are only a very short drive away from each other. Tussauds' initial reasoning for purchasing Thorpe Park was in order to eliminate Chessington's closest competition within the South (Thorpe was a family park to the same, if not a greater, extent than Chessington at the time, and as John Wardley put it, Tussauds' mentality was one of "if you can't bea…

I was looking through the park's local planning authority and saw this: http://maps.kingston...245&strHeader=Y The details say: 'Erection of a three/four storey 69 bedroom hotel extension, a play/performance area and the erection of a single storey extension to the existing hotel for bar/restaurant and leisure use' Sounds interesting, but I hope Chessington can get a ride for 2014 though. EDIT: Pictures are now up on the link... Luckily they're not shipping containers!

So QUEXTREME is returning for its 3rd year this year at Quex Park in Birchington. Having done it every time I can safely say it is probably the scariest of all the horror events I have done. Theres only 3 mazes however each one lasts about 15-20 minutes and you’re sent in small groups. They’re all outside with one being in a cornfield, one a forest and one big one which incorporates different areas and a big, theatrical storyline. Last year one of their mazes was nominated for a scare tour award for most innovative ending; this involved everyone being bundled into a London Black Cab with a stunt driver who flung you around in a field w…

The annual Knutsford may day fair is now open until the 6th May. It has over 100 attractions. Probably the best new ride I've seen is this Megaspin. It's like a cross between a Sky Swat and a Disk'o.

Saw this scare event near Bluewater in Kent. Never heard of it before, has anyone been or know anything about it? Seems to have several mazes and won some awards a few years back. I guess it’s a smaller version of tulleys. Cheers! https://www.spookycastle.co.uk/

Hi guys. While it’s probably one of the lesser known defunct UK theme parks these days, I’m led to believe we have quite a few people on here who grew up in the UK in the 1990s, or were more generally around in the UK in the 1990s for that matter, and know about Mr Blobby and Crinkley Bottom in Cricket St Thomas, Somerset. So I was intrigued to know; did anyone ever visit this park in the brief period it operated? And if so, what did you think? I must say it’s a park that looks intriguing, and quite a strange one to imagine as someone who wasn’t alive in the 1990s. As someone who mainly knows Noel Edmunds as the host of Channel 4’s Deal or No Deal, I can never…
