Right, so with this new announcement today, this is what we have for Fright Nights 2018. Italic ones mean they are "new", or something: • Saw Alive - ticked off as done for 2018 earlier this summer. Not unique to FN. • Platform 15 - average outdoor attraction with a long tunnel again. • Living Nightmare - again, ticked off earlier this year during summer. Not unique to FN. • Containment - more than likely the same rooms as before with a +£10 charge. • Do or Die - Sanctum with a different name. Simples. • Blair Witch - why is this back again? Never thought it was that good. • Terror at Amity High - Dead End Terror Zone meets Amity Cove? • Vulcan Peak - I'm a Celeb meets The Passing? • Screamplexx Cinema - 99% certain it will just be Walking Dead scenes coupled with the occasional Lionsgate film. • The Big Top: Showtime - I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the best attraction in 2016/2017 becoming this... If you factor in Do or Die just being a revised version of Sanctum, the return of Blair Witch and cancel out the scare zones and cinema, the only genuine new maze for this year is Vulcan Peak, which is frankly just gonna be "I'm a Celeb: Extreme Edition" with bags on your head to hide yourself from the frighteningly glaring faces of contempt from Ant and Dec. Still not hyped or excited about this year one bit.

Wow. That Vulcan Peak is going to be an AUDIO JUNGLE this year...

They've clearly just thought "Big Top was popular, but we can't be bothered to build it up... I know, let's get its name on the event without actually having to bother with the maze!"

I’m just listening to what other people have suggested, it’s all just rumours and speculation. I’m definitely hoping it is a scare zone!

And why is everyone assuming it’s a show? Yes it says “show” in the attraction title however thats the whole theme of it! I would be highly surprised If Thorpe decide to make it a timed show. I do think it’s a scare zone as it is advertised as one and there’s no evidence that it is a show.. someone prove me wrong here..

Is it just me who noticed a mistake regarding the big top tagline? I'm the press release, it is called Big Top Unleashed but the website and picture call it Big Top Showtime...

They are still hiding this ones.Looks like biohazard logo.

I heard a rumour that the one of the attractions will be Loggers Leap After Dark, don't know if it's true or not.

I thought it was going to be a scare zone which I think would’ve worked really well, but I guess a show isn’t too bad if they manage to actually execute it well...

Couldn't agree more! If your announcing the "full line up" why keep 3 attractions covered ?? Unless like others have said maybe they've been cut?

Honestly if Thorpe Park give us an RMC, I will forgive them for the Loggers Leap treatment!! They are amazing coasters and pretty much all of them get good at worst reviews so they could open the worst RMC and it would still be an instant hit to the UK audience. Heck if they want to slap an IP on it to market it, go for it!! Hell theme it to “My Little Pony” and market it as “worlds first My Little Pony coaster” if you want merlin!! Just seems a no brainer to me for parks to get an RMC. Airtime in abundance, unreal transitions and that perfect mixture of fun and intense.

If you say full lineup, you release the full lineup... don’t quite get why there are still things covered up unless it literally is the wd ride extreme or something

Big Top Showtime will be a show by the sounds of it which should work in the dome.
  17. 1 point
Sounds like a scare zone in the dome... bizarre - and presumably a logistical nightmare. It does seem like there’s more variety this year than previously. As others have said, I assume Do or Die will be very similar to Sanctum; but it will obviously be easier to market as a new maze. Terror at Amity is an interesting concept. Vampires at school seems fun and whacky - just what Thorpe need IMO. Vulcan peak could be successful; but I’m mostly glad IAC’s building will be in use. The maze being hooded makes sense. I think it’ll be a good year for FN - coming from a self confessed horror-hater. My only concern is the lack of conventional indoor mazes.

Wanted to make a comment about Towers really as its the first time I've really seen the place busy since 2015. Operationally they were spot on. Full capacity on everything (aside from Galatica which we didn't go near, stupid VR) and near perfect operations. Nemesis dispatching before the second train hits the break run, Oblivion using both stations, Wicker Man dispatching quickly with minimal stacking. Blackpool was much the same on Saturday. UK operations blow American operations out the water. I was really impressed with Towers and its fantastic to see them back on form. Wicker Man has really done so much more for Towers then people realise. ?
