TP Daniel
Indeed, it was on one swing. It started out on two, went down to one for an hour or so, then came back up with two,However it was running stupidly short cycles. It seemed like it would do one or two top swings at the most and then come back to stop.
thorpeparkjack
Last week it was on one swing as well. Swing B was the problem. Same again this week?
TP Daniel
I'm not 100% on which swing it was. I *think* it was the one furthest away from the control cabin.
Mattgwise
This one has been out of action for a few hours on every single one of my three visits throughout august but at least it has not been continuously down for weeks like previous years,
electricBlll
The furthest swing is also the one that swings lower than it is meant to.

thorpeparkjack
Running two swings today but on a really short setting when the queue never got above 30 minutes? Is that a problem or something because I have never seen it on a that setting even when the queue is out of the entrance. It was about two high swings. Thats it. Luke_A
Maybe, they think that if it is only on a short setting then the amount of downtime will be less?Yes, but I see what your point is thorpeparkjack, they should run it on longer settings when it is not a busy day. th13teen
This is a very good point actully, I've noticed this a lot at Thorpe Park over any other park, and it happens a lot on Rush. The VAST majority of the staff are brilliant and do a great job, it's just the odd few that hold up the queues with their ridiculous flirting and chatting every now and then.Let's face the facts though, how many people on this forum go to work and work at 100% efficiency from the start of their shift to the end? Of course people are going to slack from time to time! It's just human nature.Fair comment actually but I always feel there is a time and place to be holding the queue up! Willy
As others have commented on, ridiculously short setting today - probably the shortest I've ever seen it, even at peak times. Queues were no more than 15 minutes so didn't see any reason to have it on a cycle where it only reached full swing once or twice.
Ricky
It has indeed been on just 7 powered swings per cycle
noob230
Ride ProblemsDuring the day Rush's swings sometimes fall out of sync (Not meeting at the middle). To prevent the ride breaking down and to prevent downtime, one swing is usually closed and the other carries on operating. There has been no official release as to why the ride does this, but there is speculation that the reason being it was the first large capacity "Prototype" 'Screamin' Swing'.(From Rushs Wikipedia Page so not sure about reliability)Explains why its usually on one swing. thorpeparkjack
The other day it was operating around 4/5 high swings, however then I went on it and it stopped early. Ran 2 for the rest of the day.
A-Kid
When I went last went it did 9 swings on my first ride, then the 7 swing setting on every other in the afternoon.Anyway something random. You know Rush's 2006 theme tune? I just noticed a sound effect from it in:Who do you think you are? Intro/End: http://www.televisiontunes.com/Who_Do_You_Think_You_Are_-_Ending.html (17 secs)And very quietly in Bad Boys 2 Film score: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTFde4yTPdcI take it nobody else ever noticed that stuff?! The bad boys one is almost like a remix of Colossus beatbed and the 2006 theme lol.
noob230
Isn't it because they all use free sfx from the internet?
Marc
When I went last went it did 9 swings on my first ride, then the 7 swing setting on every other in the afternoon. Was on 9 yesterday, much better! =]I take it nobody else ever noticed that stuff?! The bad boys one is almost like a remix of Colossus beatbed and the 2006 theme lol.I guess they use the same music resource websites that the park do! Willy
Rush was closed for most - if not all (can't remember if it was operating in the morning) - of today, and by about 4.30pm there were people in a cherry-picker doing something to the top of swing B. ThrillSeekerMatt
Hmm... I hope Thorpe's luck isn't running out. They have done so well so far this season, and now they've got 3 rides down.
Graeme
Rush was open today, however when I arrived, Tidal and Stealth were down and queues were large for a mid week day so I left and went to Chessington!Edit: And on 2 swings too
Willy
It was definitely running a longer cycle than on Friday, but the swings were very noticeably out-of-sync
RobD
.....and the paint for both towers is en route, so all peachy.Going back some time, I know, however, I would just like to take this opportunity to point out that the ride has still not been painted, and swing A's patch looks disgusting. Gotta love the care and attention to detail Thorpe give their attractions. And on another note, Swing B looked lush at night on the first Friday of Fight Nights, as the lights inside the tower were left on, giving it an amazing glow outside of the inlets where to cables enter the tower. trippy
I must get good luck cause rush is always working perfectly when ever I go both swings usually the ride last quite a while
Garry Williams
This used to be one of my favourite rides. However, the last time I went on (last year) it really didn't deliver. It didnt feel forceful or thrilling anymore. It's a shame that Rush let me down; because I used to consider this ride to be one of my best friends. I trusted Rush and it let me down.I will give it another chance when I go back to Thorpe in a couple of months. BUT if I do not get a thrilling and exciting ride then I will end my 5-year friendship with Rush.I really hope that Rush returns to its former glories. If it provides me with another mediocre ride then I will yell at the ride and tell it that I will never be riding it again. It's so sad when friends let you down like this
Ricky
I recon if it got new compressors it would be top of the range again. Would highly likely go to its old hights again!
Benin
If it provides me with another mediocre ride then I will yell at the ride and tell it that I will never be riding it again. You remind me of a friend... Mainly through the yelling at the ride part...
