Cal
Really impressed with how the entrance is looking now, looks a lot better than what it was before!
OldFarmerDean
Saw the ride, samurai, loggers leap & quantum all closed today apparently... What's going on then!?
EC!
Saw the ride, samurai, loggers leap & quantum all closed today apparently... What's going on then!? Well at least Slammer is open Styles and OldFarmerDean
Marc
Saw the ride, samurai, loggers leap & quantum all closed today apparently... What's going on then!? Saw has Stalled so loggers and samurai will be closed till they recover the car I would guess. Not sure on quantum! OldFarmerDean
OldFarmerDean
Ah didn't know about saw... That explains about it, doesn't seem to look like anything is going on though, so surely they should be keeping the other rides open as k I'm gutted about loggers leap aha! Marc
Last time I was at the park when it happened loggers and samurai reopened as soon as the car wasn't sat behind Samurai.
OldFarmerDean
I didn't take a picture but the car was stuck directly behind samurai... Don't see how that's possible on that section. Hopefully samurai and loggers leap reopens later.
Project LC
So it stalled on the overbank turn? That is an odd place to stall.
OldFarmerDean
Yes it appears it never made it over the overbanked turn and valleyed in the section between that and the first diversion after the drop!
Project LC
Does it normally stall there?
Tom
Yes it's common for Saw to stall at that point Styles
OldFarmerDean
The stalled car has now been pulled round the track as it is nowhere in sight and samurai and loggers leap are now open
OldFarmerDean
Okay I lied... Just been on samurai and spotted the car still attached to the pull through cable the other side of the air time hill.
Coaster
No entrance music today! Also we didn't get let in early and had to join a longer queue because of a Triathlon. Not impressed!
Project LC
Being let in early isnt that beneficial. All of the crash pad guests are already in there and the normal people get let in about 5 minutes after.
Cal
Being let in early isnt that beneficial. All of the crash pad guests are already in there and the normal people get let in about 5 minutes after. It's 15 minutes earlier. Everyone is let in at 9:30 and annual pass holders are at 9:15. I find it quite beneficial as there isn't many crash pad guests. Can get a few rides done at least.
OldFarmerDean
now every time I've been this year (I haven't visited on weekends or holidays) the park has opened at 10pm for general guests, and has opened at least 15 minutes before then for annual pass and shark hotel guests?
Project LC
Often they let the annual pass people in later than expected. Its meant to be 9:15 at weekends but rarely is. Weekends and holidays are when they open at 9:30, 10 is the rest of the time with a few exceptions of when they know it will be busy like school strikes and things like that. Marc
I'm pretty sure its meant to "officially" open at 10 all season according to their website just more often than not they will open at 9:30. Annual pass holders are unofficially let in 15 mins early sometimes but dont think this is an official perk.
JoshC.
Yep, the ERT thing isn't official, and is just a trial. They haven't officially said anything so that it doesn't bind them into opening early every day. The Triathlon is something which I believe is becoming a regular thing; one happened last year and another two are to happen this year. Info - http://www.thetriproject.co.uk/casestudies/view/thorpe-park-triathlon-2013 Starting at 7am gives plenty of time for it to finish by a 10am opening, but, as with any event like this, you can't always be sure. It also gives Thorpe some great publicity for really not doing anything!
JamminGamer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6bF0F9HDlM The park YouTube channel uploaded this video which is apparently playing in the park somewhere, I assume on the big screen by the entrance. Is it just me or do some of the music tracks sound like altered versions of previous ones? Either way they sound great! paige, Kerfuffle and pluk
Benin
They have 10 minutes worth of that old entrance music, yet the same piece is repeated 3 times in those 5 minutes? Strange choice... Just play the whole song, cos it's fab <3 coaster_monkey
Marc
The whole 10 mins is played on the bridge / admissions area I think!
Doc
I don't care if its old music. I love it!
AdventureRyan
Quick question, are the speakers still on the entrance towers? If so they really should be moved, or they should invest in some new ones, all I can imagine is a muffled music quality!
