Green Lantern First Flight isn't last? Never have I wanted to get off a coaster more than when riding that thing.

What didn't you like about it, out of interest?

It looks the same deisgn as Insane, which I rode at Grona Lund last year - and really enjoyed it! (Insane interestingly ranked at #110, vs. Green Lantern's #209). http://www.gronalund.com/en/Rides/All-rides/Insane/

Quite intense, but as a small footprint coaster, I thought it could fit in well at Thorpe as a medium investment... and looks like it would fit in the old Miss Hippo's area!

Basically it was 'forceful' in the complete wrong ways. It seems to be luck of the draw based on the balance of your car and basically where you face during the horrific force changes.

Yes they have the same layout.

"El Coco Loco" is back! ^_^

I wouldn't get worked up over these polls, the voting is so skewed and biased it's pointless. Just tell us about your own personal favourites, I'd sooner hear someones personal opinion on an attraction than read some Excel spreadsheet.

....Not keen on this sort of thing too, you've either ridden something or you haven't :-

I was reading in FD magazine about the devastation that hurricane Sandy caused in the U.S, most notably to Casino Pier and Funtown Pier. I hadn't heard up until now about this, yet alone realised this could even happen. Reading this and generally online, there is some truly interesting information about it all which makes it sad really, even for the older coasters that aren't as thrilling as todays.

I'm sure eventually it will get all back on track, even if it does take time.

Thats the third "Oh Merlin" I've read on the forums this morning.

Hardly surprising is it, when you compare the quality of that ride and opening from a comparatively tiny park with tiny owners (a ski resort operator apparently!) to what we have been given in recent years. There is no comparison.

I truly hope that park is a success, whilst it may not be perfect according to some reviews of the dark rides (I India apparently is a poor copy of Soarin') and many other rides are cheap knock-offs... It's a MASSIVE project for the country and I don't want to see another B&M go to waste...

This one seems to have stayed off the radar...

Turns out RMC aren't the only ones trying inversions on hybrid coasters, The Gravity Group have joined in as well. The inversion is an 'inverted roll', so presumably some sort of barrel / zero-G roll, and is replacing an airtime hill on the coaster, orginally called Hades, at Mt Olympus Park.

An image of the roll, from 25th April, taken off the park's Facebook page.

Interestingly, it's repeatedly said to be the first 'all-wooden' coaster with an 'upside down' roll, which confuses me. Clearly from that photo there's a steel structure holding it up, and with Outlaw Run open (and well under construction when this was announced in November last year), it seems strange; probably just marketing talk I guess?

So that's another coaster that has wood with an inversion. Interesting that this ride was voted Best Wooden coaster when it opened in 2005 (by the Golden Ticket Awards), and it's now scrapping an airtime hill for an inversion. So, inverting woodies - a thing for the future, or just a fad which will pass?

Six Flags Great America's Batman: The Ride clone is now open and running backwards..! I wasn't aware the whole train was to be turned backwards! I think this could create a really cool / odd sensation on an inverted coaster. Image from TPR.
