JoshC.
Well Chessington HAS lost its sparkle in recent years.. alexander, TPJames, JamminGamer and 1 other
Matt 236
I think it's a logo that suits Chessington well for the park it is. There won't be a globe anymore in 5 years time. Could the slightly simplified logo be a possible obscure budget cut I wonder?
Zach
Could the slightly simplified logo be a possible obscure budget cut I wonder? Yeah, like the new google logo was due to a budget cut... The real reason is that there is a move to what is called "flat design", in my opinion the new chessington logo is clearer and more striking, it looks less dated than the old one. pognoi
I agree. The logo is still the same, just the polish and shine of it has been removed, and it's moved to a more 'matte' looking logo. Personally I prefer it, it looks more professional in my opinion and less cheesy. Â PS they wouldn't have changed the logo at all if they had budget cuts. Â PPS I realise this post is littered with unintentional puns.
pluk
A few updates around the park  from the lovely Chessington Buzz people...  Market square seating and speakers  Repainted Wagamama's hut  And the all exciting and for some reason controversial Vampire work  Things are looking rather good! Matt 236
It's updates like this that are greatly welcomed in our parks. Let's hope this is the scratch of the surface of park updates. Vampire's (original) entrance is already looking a lot better.
StevenVig
And that's all the improvements for the 2016 season in its entirety  Nice to see they have invested in Bose Environmental 'Flowerpot' Speakers
Jack F
In my opinion, The new logo can be seen as a cheap change. They don't have to change much in park branding if it is used, and it looks 100 times better than the last logo. Flat logos are the new thing at the moment, and this one is better than Towers, and Thorpes old ones pognoi
HermanTheGerman
Just thought I'd say that is not the new logo. There is no new logo. That flat, blandish one has literally been around for years. Someone silly has clearly used the low quality version of the actual logo and put it over the Chessington area of the Merlin Annual Pass website. In fact... Look at the park map from this year, that logo was accidentally used for both entrances before being subtly covered over on the bigger, on-park maps. pognoi
Coaster
I'm not sure how anyone can call that a "new" logo to be honest, it's pretty much the same but with the shine and 3D effect removed.
Nosferatu
The vampire entrance will get painted, and then torn down afterwards for being deemed 'too unsafe' by H&S.
SteveJ
They already tried that and saved it. Kerfuffle, pognoi and pluk
Imagineer
The problem with Chessington is that it's name is such a mouthful...and and eyeful. It means that logos will always appear cluttered. I think I prefer the 'flat' logo - new or old. It looks less 90s cheese.
insider9150
They are not bose, chessington stopped using bose speakers years ago, due to the cost and there being far better speakers available at a cheaper cost. Rumour has is that tomb blaster is have a brand new sound system installed, anyone have any more info!!!
JoshC.
An article over on SouthParks has revealed some things that are happening next year:  http://www.southparks.co.uk/2015/12/19/roar-and-explore-coming-to-chessington-world-of-adventures-resort-for-2016/  In short: -New stage show around pandas -Sprucing up Trail of the Kings -New restaurant replacing Chicken Shack  Yay? Ryan
Another stage show and more work on the zoo? No, sort out the park! With scaffolding up around the old vampire entrance, the skyway cattle pen being removed, I think they are sorting out the park, or at least attempting it! Matt 236
Well it's a start anyway. The park's not high on my todo list next year but will probably be done anyway due to its close'ish proximity, I have a pass amongst other reasons. Benin
Repainting an unused archway and replacing s rotten wood queue does not fix any of the real issues at Chessie atm though... Â The park needs something new and major desperately ride wise, it's slowly losing the ability to trade off the nostalgia factor with the decline currently being experienced... Coaster
With scaffolding up around the old vampire entrance, the skyway cattle pen being removed, I think they are sorting out the park, or at least attempting it!Don't read this the wrong way, because it is great that they are finally starting to sort out some of the appearance issues with the park. But, the park shouldn't have been allowed to get into such a bad state! There have been rides closed due to unsafe structures, theming knocked down due to neglect and the park generally has a run-down feel (apart from the areas which have recently been done-up such as Market Square which looks great). Repainting an entrance and removing a queueline is a good start but there are many more issues at Chessington which I can only hope will finally be addressed. Charles Parry
Bit more info in the casting call for the new stage show:"Chessington Resort presents the BRAND NEW for 2016 live show PANDA-MONIUM. Creating a family of performer wearable, lifelike animatronic Panda suits that can deliver a number of live shows for ‘The Legend of the Temple’ story. We are looking for: • Flexible with strong core strength character performers between 5’4 to 5’6 • Strong male and female actors • Skilled puppeteers"Sounds interesting.
pluk
Panda's? A temple? Â I presume this is a Kung Fu Panda show then? It is made by the same people as Madagascar.
Kerfuffle
Creating a family of performer wearable, lifelike animatronic Panda suits that can deliver a number of live shows Sounds like someone at Chessington likes Five Nights at Freddy's 3 a little too much...
