Coaster
I'm surprised no-one else picked up on this, but the 2016 opening times have been released. https://www.thorpepark.com/resort-information/getting-here/ They leave a lot to be desired aside from Fright Nights with peak summer season being just a 6pm close, and for the first time in several years (I think) there are midweek closures in September and October. Marc
No surprise - hopefully if the season starts well they can add improve them. Don't think they've closed in the week since 2004 ish? pognoi
JoshC.
At least Fright Nights hours haven't been cut. A shame to see the park having to close on certain days of the season, but like Marc says, it's not surprising given just how quiet those days would be. However, given they're currently planned to be quite late in the season, we can hope that if the first few months of the season are promising, they can actually end up opening on these days. Benin
Gotta save that money somehow... That said, it's common as hell abroad that most parks don't open midweek, though usually cos these places have no budget more than anything... The park is open most days next year from March 17th, until the beginning of November, bar a few weekdays in September and October. Dodge2002
There was a point this year where it said the park was closed throughout fright nights. I'm pretty sure it's common for them to say the park is randomly closed on certain days while they finalize opening hours. I wouldn't take that to mean definite mid-week closures, even if there is a possibility of it. If I was an investor that that just lumped a huge amount of cash into wc16, that wouldn't give me a whole lot of confidence about the success of their newest addition though... pluk
OldFarmerDean
Closing the season on a weekday too!? No final weekend besides fright nights
noseyelephant
My friend has just told me that the park have confirmed over facebook that during September and October the park will be closed every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Cant post a link as I'm not part of facebook and wouldnt even know where to look for the comment!
OldFarmerDean
yeah it says it on the website if you look at opening times, it's all on there... although this year the wednesday and thursday before first weekend of fright nights were originally open, then changed to closed and then reverted back to being open again.. pluk
That might be what's planned, but it doesn't mean that's what will happen. It's always changing this far out.
James39
Just noticed a tweet from TP tonight Saying they will be open selected Saturdays from early 2016, not sure if they meant just the annual pass building or the actual park? Assume very limited rides would be open if it were the park
JoshC.
Presumably just the AP building, since that is usually open on some weekends during winter. I doubt it'd be the park itself since they're not opening for February half term.
James39
That's what I thought but they confusingly said the park would be open selected Saturdays from beginning 2016
Coaster
Hi, the park will be open on selected Saturdays at the beginning of 2016 so you can come then! Not great wording as it does make it sound like the park will be open, but I'm sure they just mean the AP building. 400400

Ian-S
Jesus Christ how hard is it to get these things right first time? It must get really boring constantly having to clarify what you meant.
