August 11, 201411 yr comment_188418 I just take a charger... there are sockets everywhere! Including in the floor >
August 23, 201411 yr comment_189523 That's the way companies should make money! Doesn't have a negative impact on anyone, and is actually a benefit to a lot of people.
August 28, 201411 yr comment_189958 You can compare this to parks like SeaWorld and Disney though who offer free charging points, having said that though I would never use one of these free or not, as it ties you down too much. It's far easier to buy a portable charger and charge on the go if you need it.
September 22, 201410 yr comment_192731 got a strong feeling that there won't be anything new in the theme park for 2015, which I guess s confirmed on Facebook by someone asking if there is anything new for 2015, to which Alton towers replied, new for 2015 is our enchanted village. I'll be pretty annoyed if we don't get a submission replacement or at least something fun or thrilling after a children's investment this year.
September 22, 201410 yr comment_192790 a man was stabbed in the leg twice yesterday at Alton after attending a ball.
September 23, 201410 yr comment_192805 ^ Sounds like whoever committed this REALLY doesn't like theme parks! Not really a situation to make a joke about is it?
September 23, 201410 yr comment_192825 Not really a situation to make a joke about is it? Ah. Well that's something you need to know about me - sometimes I don't think before I speak! Sorry about that... But seriously, I was pretty irritated when I saw that no arrests had been made! There better be a 'yet' on the end of that soon! Why would you come away clean after stabbing someone TWICE?
September 23, 201410 yr comment_192826 Probably no arrests made because they haven't found a pulpable culprit for the incident... Considering the local area, the assailant attacked the staff member, and then could easily leg it in any direction and would be very difficult to find... Not like the person stabbed the manager and just stood outside waiting to be caught...
October 21, 201410 yr comment_195548 Medics at Alton Towers have been praised for saving the life of a man who collapsed at the theme park. The 42-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest and his heart stopped beating during a visit to Alton Towers. http://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/Theme-park-medics-save-visitor-s-life/story-23265734-detail/story.html#ixzz3GoUhqevo
November 26, 201410 yr comment_198023 Didn't seem particularly worthy of its own topic... Towers are planning to put in a high rope course near the Hotel - http://publicaccess.staffsmoorlands.gov.uk/portal/servlets/ApplicationSearchServlet?PKID=69394 It'll include a Cafe too. Looks good fun for everyone and the sorta thing that should be added to a resort to give that more complete feel. Plans suggest it will have an upcharge (which is reasonable in my opinion), and you can either purchase a ticket for it by itself, or in conjunction with the theme park or waterpark. It's expected to only attract 250-300 guests a day, but will be open all year round by the sounds of it. Hope it does come to fruition; sounds like a nice concept all in all!
November 26, 201410 yr comment_198029 Good idea, may give this a try one day if it is open after the park closes.
November 26, 201410 yr comment_198036 Apparently the plans have already been pulled off the site... Possibly an admin error or sommat... It's somewhat daft these companies can't file things properly...
November 27, 201410 yr comment_198088 Something a bit different I suppose, can see it being quite popular. Another Centre Parcs lite development.
November 27, 201410 yr comment_198112 Definitely a unexpected move by the park, however as they will have 3 resort hotels/accommodation I think they do need more activities aside from the themepark (eventhough they do have Cariba Creek, spa & golf courses).
December 2, 201410 yr comment_198426 With this they'll have 3 types of accommodation, a Conference Centre, Spa, Waterpark, Golf, Treeclimb thing AND a theme park. It's a resort!
July 20, 201510 yr comment_213309 Just saw this on Facebook. Intriguing! Would be good, if a bit late, for Air to actually have some theming
July 20, 201510 yr comment_213312 This is great and exciting news! I've always thought Air has been lacking the potential of some of their coasters there (Nemesis, zoblivion & Thirteen respectively) especially on the the arid side so hopefully this will bring the ride a notch up in greatness especially since the theming for the ride was cut back when it opened. Makes great sense here too especially with the food loop being next door as well. Hopefully we'll see Towers doing these moderate improvements to existing rides from now on (Nemy,Katanga & towers street are calling for face lifts.
July 20, 201510 yr comment_213315 Does this mean we'll get months of hype from enthusiasts about the Air tunnel being sorted out, only for them to leave it blank due to budget cuts?
July 29, 201510 yr comment_213598 So as a result of the awful attendance figures so far this summer, all midweek dates currently have a 5pm closing time... One would assume that they will extend things should they require it, but Towers is seriously struggling according to those attending and those watching ridetimes.co.uk... We're in really grim times atm...
July 29, 201510 yr comment_213601 That's not good at all, it's quite saddening to see 5pm closes in the summer holidays to be honest.
July 29, 201510 yr comment_213605 The closures being pushed forwards isn't surprising at all. Especially that the park has rarely been seeing queues over 15 minutes at all this month, it's a great shame to see all this happen especially how dead and quiet the park is currently (although good if you're visiting though).
July 29, 201510 yr comment_213606 Merlin logic How to deal with not enough people coming to your park? Give them more reason not to come!
July 29, 201510 yr comment_213608 Well all this about Merlin's profits dropping drastically may have a lot to do with it, considering Towers has been hardest hit by this for obvious reasons. Who knows? They may be trying to keep down costs by reducing open hours? Feel free to correct me if I seem wrong.
July 29, 201510 yr comment_213609 Well that's obviously what they're doing. The point is you can counter the downturn with excitment, magic, meaningful promotions and generally being awesome so people want to come back. Or you can have a big huff and give people less, so less people want to come, and the depressing spiral can continue. Speculate to accumulate, get what you deserve, etc etc
