September 25, 201014 yr comment_99166 Well, at least they're improving the parking...Though god knows how they're gonna have the exit barriers in the South one considering it's current layout...
September 26, 201014 yr comment_99213 Though god knows how they're gonna have the exit barriers in the South one considering it's current layout...Possibly on the right turn in the top left corner? It will help ease congestion at the Signals.
September 27, 201014 yr comment_99261 I think it is a sensible idea, as will avoid major build ups at signals, but the charge is quite frankly unnecessary. But if Alton and Thorpe are doing it, I guess why not Chessington.

September 27, 201014 yr comment_99263 As much as people wouldn't want it to have happened, it was bound to. Most European parks charge for parking - it was only a matter of time till parks over here did too. Wonder how much the charge will be though? £2-£5?
September 27, 201014 yr comment_99268 Wonder how much the charge will be though? £2-£5?Currently £2, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was increased in seasons to come.
September 28, 201014 yr comment_99281 From Chessington Facebook page: The Bird Poo Challenge. For many it means good luck but for guests at Chessington bright yellow bird poo has left them feeling not so lucky! Spotting the problem, Zoo Keepers are introducing complimentary umbrella hats for visitors to the walkthrough aviary. Charlie Compton, Head of Birds at Chessington commented; “The 65 brightly plumed parrots in our Lorikeet Lagoon are popular with visitors who can feed the birds from small pots of nectar. Feeding the birds inevitably means there will be bird poo and the number of ‘lucky’ people with lorikeet poo on their heads meant we had to take action. The umbrella hats are the perfect solution and guests are free to borrow them when walking through the aviary.”

October 9, 201014 yr comment_100104 Hi guys, I am visiting Chessington with a family on Sunday 24th October. I visit once every year and we stay at Holiday Inn Chessington. I am going to have Ultimate Express Pass (with Merlin Pass discount), but the other 3 will not. Which attractions should we go for first?
October 10, 201014 yr comment_100179 A lot of the Halloween Hocus Pocus shizzle is going up around the park such as cobwebs on Hocus Pocus Hall etc Hi guys, I am visiting Chessington with a family on Sunday 24th October. October 11, 201014 yr comment_100182 It'll be interesting to see in the coming years if Thorpe and Chessington do something major in the same year or if it's staggered.
October 11, 201014 yr comment_100183 It'll be interesting to see in the coming years if Thorpe and Chessington do something major in the same year or if it's staggered. It would be nice for Chessington to just add anything to be honest. Years and years of next to nothing ride investment. I'm surprised Chessington is doing as well as it is sometimes.
October 11, 201014 yr comment_100184 It would be nice for Chessington to just add anything to be honest. Years and years of next to nothing ride investment. I'm surprised Chessington is doing as well as it is sometimes.Perhaps a sign of the recent (and continuing) economic conditions. I think some attraction operators have come to the conclusion that constant investment in larger rides isn't needed as much as it once was. Alton have less rides now than they did six years ago. The only rides of note since Rita (2005) are Th13teen and Battle Galleons.I think maybe Chessington looks worse off because of the massive investment at Thorpe (and that maybe a reason why...). The difference, I suppose is that Chessington is much more established where as Thorpe is continuing to establish itself amongst its key demographic.
October 11, 201014 yr comment_100186 I think maybe Chessington looks worse off because of the massive investment at Thorpe (and that maybe a reason why...).No, it looks worse off because it got bugger all major attractions for 10 years... And had hardly any improvements or work done to it over the years...
October 12, 201014 yr comment_100225 I would say CWoA does need a major ride though as everyone goes to Dragon's Fury and Vampire. If there was another major attraction - would be nice to take away some of the pressure on DF and V.Kobra is "alright" but would be nice to see a rollercoaster imo.
October 12, 201014 yr comment_100235 ^A roller-coaster is kind of a no brainer really...But it needs to be reliable...And on a scale of Fury...Sounds like a job for a Gerstlauer Launched coaster...
October 17, 201014 yr comment_100465 Pictures now up for car park plans, look pretty good http://maps.kingston.gov.uk/isis_main/Planning/planning_summary.aspx?strWeekListType=SRCH&strWard=ALL&strAppTyp=ALL&strWardTxt=All%20Wards&strAppTypTxt=All%20Application%20Types&strStreets=06520&strStreetsTxt=LEATHERHEAD%20ROAD%20CHESSINGTON&strLimit=50Link fails... Might be a Kingston Council site issue since a quick check leads to me getting confused...
October 17, 201014 yr comment_100478 Random fact - The music for the halloween bit on the homepage of the website is played around Market Square... (Obvs just longer in park)
