September 30, 201113 yr comment_124078 Excellent. Now interesting things have kicked off. Pics by idlewild from CF.
September 30, 201113 yr comment_124081 Bloody hell, that is massive. I guess at 2 metres higher than the Saw building, I should have expected this
October 1, 201113 yr comment_124093 To stop any worries, construction on site is near enough on schedule - and the current hot weather (and forecast going forward) is going to help immensely to get up-to-speed (after poor weather earlier on in the year).Still some footers to be poured/placed as stated, but that doesn't mean that site won't be able to start installing track where they are in place
October 1, 201113 yr comment_124094 Provides several more pics that I see havent been posted anywhere yet
October 1, 201113 yr comment_124104 My god, it's colossal, I was expecting something 'modestly' sized!
October 1, 201113 yr comment_124106 My god, it's colossal, I was expecting something 'modestly' sized!This...Raptor set the bar for this, and as long as they can produce some cracking pieces of theming, then it should certainly reach that bar and become easily the best ride in the park... And an icon for years to come...Slowly turning around onto this I guess... Who knew...
October 1, 201113 yr comment_124107 As Raptor, I expect the operator will be above the loading track, which already gives us an idea of the size and the station height..
October 1, 201113 yr comment_124110 More pics.http://www.themeparkguide.biz/news-page/1st-october-2011-thorpe-park-the-swarm-update
October 1, 201113 yr comment_124112 Was on park today in a rather impromptu trip that I only found out about on Thursday. That makes it a record-breaking three visits this year for me. Nothing to report Swarm-wise that hasn't already been mentioned. I'll have a trip report knocked together for tomorrow.
October 2, 201113 yr comment_124117 As Raptor, I expect the operator will be above the loading track, which already gives us an idea of the size and the station height..Judging by the plans, it's quite a mystery, one end of the station is completely open and the other is a big stained glass, unless you mean at the side?
October 2, 201113 yr comment_124132 Good stuff, I'm suprised that with a station as colossal as this there will be very little indoor queueline. I can't help but feel they missed a trick there but anyway here are some better photos of the station structure....Credit to "Go Merlin" for the picturesThe full set can be found here
October 2, 201113 yr comment_124134 The last picture above absolutely fascinates me! Not only can you see the scale of this project, but the distance the lift hill will cover is incredible! Great stuff.
October 2, 201113 yr comment_124135 This is getting very exciting I hope the track is finished before closed season, can't wait to see how impressive it will look
October 2, 201113 yr comment_124143 A update from today.http://www.themeuk.net/LC12_Thorpe_ParkPG1.html
October 2, 201113 yr comment_124144 In this photo, you can see the first support structure for the tower themeing; the ruined steeple that the train will turn towards and fly through before it's inline twist.
October 2, 201113 yr comment_124148 This is fantastic I just get the feeling that it will be stunning when finished. Another random thing to note in the pic above is the bricking up of the maintenance building - just an observation
October 4, 201113 yr comment_124239 Just to let you know, supports and more track where installed today.
October 4, 201113 yr comment_124249 Any pics by any chance. Did you see these with your own eyes, or pictures by somebody else?
October 4, 201113 yr comment_124252 Any pics by any chance. Did you see these with your own eyes, or pictures by somebody else?Do you know how much you anger me? You consistantly undermine me when I'm 110% correct. This isn't the first time either.Unfortunately I do not have any pictures, and yes I DID see it with my own eyes or I wouldnt be posting on the forum.
