February 12, 201312 yr comment_150164 I don't think really anyone would care if Saw Alive was removed for good and the Belle returned to the education centre format... Of course, lack of a 'true' new ride (turning coaster cars around does not a decent investment make) could cause the park further low attendance issues... Isn't it meant to be a medium investment this year? Surely turning a couple of rows and a couple of trains around isn't equivalent to a medium investment! SURELY NOT? Thorpe better have a trick up their sleeve, the best I am hoping for is new attractions/shows in the saw alive building and pirates 4d(time voyagers) P.s I would rather a better maze came for fright nights. Also I think the parks lower attendance would be good because there would be shorter queues however the ticket prices would go up more because thorpe would need to make some more money...
February 14, 201312 yr comment_150232 Don't think this has been posted, but plans have been submitted for the new theming element for the Swarm: http://planning.runn...tref=RU.13/0125 Looks rather good!
February 15, 201312 yr comment_150269 Those plans look mighty nice. Also worth noting that the plans show some further modification of the new island next to swarm which looks set for a bridge next to the helicopter. Maybe the 2014 ride will be using the new island?
February 16, 201312 yr comment_150343 I've been having a think about it and realized. Isn't the billboard compensating for the fact that the firetruck didn't live up to its expectations? It is directly behind it to remove attention that the fireball doesn't go off every time?
February 17, 201312 yr comment_150402 I think people will be more interested in the near miss of the billboard. I've only ever had the fire go off once whilst riding. Didn't really see or feel it. It looks good, but I think if they can't keep it on Tidal Wave, then it was a waste attempting it on Swarm.
February 17, 201312 yr comment_150404 Tidal Wave's went because of Stealth's construction severing the gas line... There is no evidence currently to suggest it will just get turned off on Swarm... Swarm's fireball is a great bit of theming when it works, it should maybe not go off every train (mainly as when it doesn't catch light, the area stinks), it's definitely one for non-riders (who are just as important for encapsulating in the overall area experience)...
February 17, 201312 yr comment_150405 Ahhh my apologies. I do love the themeing of the Swarm area. I'd like to think that they can keep that up with future rides etc.
February 18, 201312 yr comment_150478 I've waited for so long for the Tidal Wave fire effect to return that I've given up - just like the old never-ending Colossus repaint rumour that fails to go away.
February 24, 201312 yr comment_151098 Almost a week with no post. Remembering that Thorpe promised changES a month ago surely something else could still happen. Loosing optimism about an X retheme but the two new Swarm features don't quite seem to live up to the concept. Personally I dont see much need for anything else but would interesting to see another new idea!
February 24, 201312 yr comment_151112 I am all for the X changes but not turning the trains forward. Other new ideas are needed, I agree.
February 25, 201312 yr comment_151155 Hello all I've been following this thread for some time now and thought it was about time to join in! A little while back someone said X had been put in the "Thrilling and Fun" section; then its tagline description changed to "The ride that takes no prisoners". I looked at its page today and I think the full description of it may have changed...again...? Take a look: http://www.thorpepark.com/rides/x-no-way-out.aspx it now reads: "Enter and you will be thrown into a world of disorientation as your senses are pushed to the limits with eerie sounds and crazy flashes." I might be wrong but I swear it never said that before?!?! Maybe it did and I am just mildly delusional... I really hope X gets some attention this year.
February 25, 201312 yr comment_151157 Hey there - welcome to the forums! If you just scroll over the 'Rides' tab at the top of the website, it still lists X as an extreme thrill, but if go on the Full Ride Listing (http://www.thorpepark.com/rides/full-ride-listing.aspx), it lists it as Thrilling and Fun. So it could be just a transitional phase at the moment if you will. As for the description, I think it has changed again, or at the very least tweaked a bit. Hopefully they don't try and create a 'scary' ride, but just something whih is completely random and weird, which seems like the direction they're taking. Fingers crossed!

The website has said several different things over the past few weeks - I haven't seen it myself. But for many it's confusing, makes good debating though.

March 4, 201312 yr comment_151602 Is the change to X WTF this year going to be that there is no change...? Only 10 days to go!
March 4, 201312 yr comment_151653 It probably won't be open for the first two or so weeks of the season at least.
March 4, 201312 yr comment_151658 It probably won't be open for the first two or so weeks of the season at least. Business as usual then for the park - if it's not one ride, it's another!
