September 26, 201212 yr comment_141693 There's now a tent with the Snoozebox logo on it set up in the staff car park. I would assume that more 'pieces' have arrived. A bit early for these to be arriving isn't it? Considering they're not going to be physically built until February and planning permission hasn't been granted yet (I would think that being something rather out of the blue and not mentioned in the MTDP, the granting of the Snoozeboxes would not be as concrete as rides and coasters?)
September 26, 201212 yr comment_141694 Id guess even though not on the MDTP they would have little problem getting permission, its quite small compared to some of the installations they have! Maybe its been approved but site not updated yet? Its been over a month now..
September 26, 201212 yr comment_141717 I believe the one in the car park is a demo unit for staff members to get a preview of what it'll be like next year.
September 27, 201212 yr comment_141722 Why do staff members need a preview? Like, the Thorpe staff aren't likely to stay over there are they? Unless Thorpe are going to put them up for free if necessary next year for those who live far away...

September 27, 201212 yr comment_141725 Because the staff will preview the room and nothing else... Least when the Chessie staff did it they got to try out a new bar/restaurant and be able to fit more than 2 people comfortably in a room...

Least when the Chessie staff did it they got to try out a new bar/restaurant and be able to fit more than 2 people comfortably in a room... Thorpe Staff can also try out the new old bar and have a good time in the Snooze bedroom with the finest Thorpe luxuries. So critical Benin.
September 27, 201212 yr comment_141730 Considering I've just come back from Europa, yeah, critical Why sleep in Colosseo when you could be cramped into a Sleepbox next to Surrey's finest renamed town. I know which I'd rather choose.
September 28, 201212 yr comment_141790 So they gain product knowledge so they can inform the guests should they ask/mention about accomodation? Pretty normal if you ask me? Thorpe doing something right for a change?
October 5, 201212 yr comment_142014 Back at Thorpe the Snooze Box installation has started.... Looks about right, if not better than I imagined.
October 5, 201212 yr comment_142031 It definitely seems a lot more colourful that the official ones will be
October 6, 201212 yr comment_142063 Back at Thorpe the Snooze Box installation has started.... Cheap and cheerful!
October 6, 201212 yr comment_142068 If you can build a Retail unit out of them, why not build a hotel out of them?
October 25, 201212 yr comment_143093 Thorpe park have started the marketing for the "Crash pads" http://thorpepark.com/crashpad/ They have confirmed the Bar360 will be opening late and there will be "Evening entertainment with gigs, comedy, dvds & more" Looks like breakfast will be included too 2 day packages start from £64 per person
October 25, 201212 yr comment_143094 Hmmm if that £64 includes tickets then that is REALLY good value. If not, then I'm worried...And then will they hike the charge when events like the club nights are on too? If it is that cheap then I think this will be really successful, its just a shame about the whole shipping container thing...
October 25, 201212 yr comment_143095 2 day packages start from £64 per person. 4 people per room - £256 per box per night. Don't think so, thanks.
October 25, 201212 yr comment_143096 Per box yeah.... but if you work it out per person how most people would pay, £64 for 2 , a over night stay and breakfast seems pretty reasonable to me
October 25, 201212 yr comment_143098 Keep in mind also, if it includes tickets £45 of that price is going on the two day ticket alone. The room itself is a rather ample £29 a night. I.e in line with a local travel lodge but with a really convenient location.
October 25, 201212 yr comment_143108 Not saying it hasn't got its uses, but for me that price is a big no as I'm not happy in a room that size with another couple. I don't know how they'll structure it, but 'prices from' indicates It'll be more per person with under occupancy and I'll guess substantially so. Just as a comparison, alton have been doing £99 per couple with breakfast and park tickets in a proper hotel room. This will be a minimum of £128 per couple, probably quite a bit more for just two, in accommodation which looks to be of considerable lesser quality, with less resturant and bar options and with access to what I realised again yesterday is a considerably lesser theme park. The only thing they are offering which is superior is the 2 day entry rather than one, although I'm not too sure I could take Thorpe for two days in a row anymore and it is not needed to get everything done in the same way Towers can be. Again, just saying it's not for me and I appreciate it will work for some people. If I was going on a stag or something it'd be ideal, but I'm not. I want a proper hotel for normal use for a couple at a reasonable price.
October 26, 201212 yr comment_143186 I've noticed that if you sign up for the Priority List, dates start from 28th March (a Thursday), up to 4th November. Looks like that's the provisional opening times for next season, and opening day seems to be a couple of weeks later than it has been the past few years?
