themeparkaddict
I absolutely love the Fright Nights audio this year, especially the director and the themed announcements. I know the SAW Theme and music from You're Next has been playing around park, but just what *is* this? (Start properly at around 10 seconds!). I've looked everywhere. I can't figure out if they've made it especially, or if it's from one of the films! http://vocaroo.com/I/s1L3k88iiLzO And the quality's too bad for dear old Shazam. Thank you times a BILLION. P.S. The FN meet and tour of MBV was epic! Thanks for being fantastic you guys! x Marc and Graw

Emma1980
Keep your eyes peeled for Gemma Collins from TOWIE today/tonight if your going hahaha!I'm not going TP tonight but am trying this out... www.thecursed.co.uk an hour long woods/maze walk with actors BUT they can't touch you.... Which disappoints me especially as I'm used to actors being draped over you at TP hahaha!!
pluk
In BASILDON? In the dark? That is proper scary! They may not be allowed to touch you, but they just might stab you!
Emma1980
Pete it was better than some of the mazes in Thorpe Park!! It lasted over an hour, walking through the woods, 7 mazes full to the brim with actors, I had a better time there than at Thorpe I'm afraid to say lol
pluk
Excellent! Was it a one off or does it run up to Halloween? I'm told the Tilbury Fort one is supposed to be pretty good too, but think it is more family friendly than proper scary. #essextalk

Dodge2002
Does anyone happen to know if hospitality fast tracks can be used on mazes or not? I'm pretty sure the answer used to be no, but just curious as the whether that's changed or not
th13teen
I get this horrible feeling that Fright Nights even on the next few 'storm' days is going to be very busy because everyone has the same thoughts, add Fright Night Masses and fewer attractions open...Jesus!!! jammydodger
Fright Night trip report- Friday 25th October- CONTAINS SPOILERS First of all I must start by saying that I have never been on any mazes at Thorpe Park so you might find it interesting to hear from this point of view. Went arrived at quarter past 2 and had a quick ride on depth charge before heading straight to the asylum... The Asylum We came here at about 2:40 so we waited for 20 minutes until they opened the queue line, and after that we only had to wait for about 10 minutes in the actual queue. The atmosphere in the queue was great with the loud midnight syndicate music and the red lights. We were put at the front of the line and at this point I was actually starting to get a little nervous. The maze itself was fantastic with a lot of actors. I think that the strobe lighting worked really well and the actors did a great job of using it to scare us. There was one point in the maze were there was a male actor on a swing and he was swinging and reaching out his arm. This made our conga line move right up to the fence only for another actor to jump out at us from behind it. As we were getting to the end of the maze I knew that the chainsaw bit was coming soon but I didn't know when. We then saw some shower curtains and we pulled back about 3 with nothing behind them. Then we came to the fourth one and saw a foot from behind it. I had a feeling this was the chainsaw bit and I was completely right. He chased us out and that was probably the hi light of the maze. Overall, a really fun action packed maze with a lot of great actors and an amazing finish. 9/10 Saw alive We waited for about an hour and a half for this maze and we went in pumped full of adrenaline from the asylum. I can say that it was very good with possibly more actors than the asylum but there was something missing. I thought that it was really good because it was reasonably long and there were lots of actors doing all sorts of different things. I especially liked the facts that the actors were on different levels, some were down low grabbing your ankles, some were up high reaching down and touching your face. I though that the pig men could have been a lot better because all I saw them do was just walk past. But still I really enjoyed it but not quite as much as the asylum. 8/10 The Cabin in the Woods We thought that the queue was quite short for this but it turned out to be 2 hours! I can say that it was a great idea but it was too cramp. There were too many people in the maze at the same time and some idiots behind us were pushing and shoving which really ruined the experience. I think we chose the 3rd door which took us into the room with lots of white masks, the actor in there was very good. The revolving tunnel was a nice touch but the people behind us really ruined it for me. A bit disappointed but I know that it wasn't Thorpe's fault. However a can see how it would be really good if it was just your group going through... But I can only rate it on my experience. 4.5/10 Blair Witch Project This was fun, especially the last bit in the shed, but it wasn't anything that would get your heart pounding. Scare wise, not good at all, but it was a bit of a laugh and for a 10 minute queue, you can't go wrong. Throughout the whole maze I saw about 7 actors who were al right but nothing special. There were three actors in the shed who did a decent job of scaring us by using torches, but that was about it. 4/10 Your'e next actors Only saw these guys a couple of times, and although the costumes were very cheap & not particularly scary, they looked like they were doing a good job at scaring people. Not much else to say about this... Rides in the dark We managed to do Stealth, Inferno and Rush in the dark, and they were all very good especially Stealth front seat- amazing. Positives- All actors were really good, Asylum & Saw, Stealth, Inferno and rush in the dark. Negatives- Annoying people in CITW queue line, lots of smokers in the queue lines, Cabin in the woods was too crowded, didn't get to do MBV. All in all it was a great day out and I really enjoyed it. Well done Thorpe! JoshC. and pluk
TPBrandon
*SPOILERS AHEAD* Yes, Fright Nights yesterday was very busy, but somehow in the first our we had been on 4 major rides, and first general public on SWARM backwards! Luckily we got on MBV within 20 minutes because we queued at like 2:45. Was in my opinion, the best Fright Night yet, with the best actors yet. The queues just add to the experience, the hype and the build-up. Was my best day at Thorpe Park ever and I've been fright night for the past 3 years. So now, the review; I didn't manage to get on SAW Alive, or Blair Witch project (just of how god awful this one looked), but will edit on Tuesday when I've done SAW Alive: My Bloody Valentine After the average reviews, I didn't know what to expect on this maze. We queued around 20 minutes and went in. As stated before, the fast track allowance and the ratio of how many were being let in from the fast track queue to the main queue was horrendous. But anyway, in we went. All in all, I enjoyed the maze. The actors were on top form, really trying to scare me as I was right at the back. They did a great job and stayed in role, great acting and tried really hard to scare us. The crawling part was a laugh, but nothing happened in it and it was a bit pointless. I felt it needed some lift to it, like holes in the roof where actors stick their hands down and grab you or something. Good attention to detail here inside and outside the maze, and was all in all a decent maze which I really enjoyed, especially due to my placement at the back (As I had all the actors who needed to be occupied until the next group came in so followed me, grabbing my legs and my hair :') Good maze, but god do I miss the solitary confinement cells, a very big part of the excellent Experiment 10. All in all, enjoyed it, but the worst out of the three we did. Positives- Very good actors, good plot and theming, in my opinion not too short like everyone said and underrated. Negatives- The queueing of the maze was really quite bad, with so many fast tracks being let in, and too many being sold. MAybe swearing on a maze where anybody was aloud on wasn't right, as one of the miners did so. Overall I give this maze a 7/10 The Asylum We queue up for this straight after My Bloody Valentine and just couldn't wait. We have been since 2011 and have loved the Asylum every year. It is my idea of a great maze, with a brilliant concept and outstanding finale. We queued up, and the queue line moved very quickly which was surprising. After a 10 minute stoppage of the right due to what was rumoured to be an aggressive actor, we went in, and I was at the front which I was very happy with. So now for the maze review. All I can say is that it was THE best it has been over the last three years, with some added length and amazing actors. There was even a girl with an amputated arm, using it to her advantage, pushing t in your face and she was absolutely brilliant. The actors were on top form BOTH times we went on the maze, and really did make the maze feel real. They now use the fences and poles, and some even climbed over them and onto theme to grab you as you walked past, and jump down in front of you, which meant being at the front was very scary and brilliant fun. All I can say that was bad was how on the first visit we were after the fast trackers, meaning halfway through the maze we were directly behind them as they were moving too slowly, which resulted in the ending being slightly disappointing as the chainsaw man was already chasing them, and so simply carried on to scare us, which took away from the scare factor as he therefore wasn't ready and we knew where he was because of the sound. However, second time we were first and I was again at the front, and the ending was absolutely superb this time. He was hiding behind the wall, and as soon as he saw us he had me and my mate cornered against a wall, waving the chainsaw above our heads. It was absolutely terrifying! What a maze this was, bravo THORPE, and I will be seriously disappointed if they close this maze. Absolutely brilliant. Positives- A-maze-ing maze, actors on top form, the amputated arm girl was brilliant, new climbing fences added an extra element of fear, maze was longer than ever, finale was brilliant. Negatives- As explained above, the queueing system means the ending may be worsened for you as if led in second you may catch up with them and the chainsaw man will not be ready for you. Also, TURN THE ALARM UP! Overall, the best it has been since 2011 (and most probably before). Absolutely loved it, did it twice. I give it a 9/10 (possible 10 if sound was turned up, our experiences really were that great on the maze). Cabin In The Woods This was by far the longest we queued, as expected. The queue was 2 hours as FRIGHT NIGHT was very busy yesterday. I am going to start on a few negatives; firstly, the queueing system of fast track: normal queuers was absolutely terrible. The amount going in from that queue compared to ours was horrendous. Also, half way through the queue the ride temporarily shut due to what was rumoured to be someone fainting/having a panic attack in the maze. We were not told anything about it, which THORPE really needs to sort out as it just isn't fair to not inform us. But anyway, after a very long wait, we finally went in. All in all, despite the awful queueing system we had, the maze was excellent. We loved the idea of picking our own fate. It was very good fun and we loved how you entered the room, closed the door and then a selection of different monsters attacked you. Some of them were very scary, and each were very well dressed up. Out of all the mazes, the actors here were the scariest costume wise. The idea of picking your own fate was brilliant, and there were some very scary parts such as the revolving tunnel scene where there was a grudge-like girl standing on the railing, who jumped down on us and was very scary, and we loved it. Very good concept, well executed, and a brilliant maze from THORPE. The negatives of the maze was how in the end you meet up anyway and you see those who are about to do the maze (as you come out next to where you came in), and they need to be careful as out of bounds areas were easily accessible, such as the room which we thought was an alternate route until we saw 'hard hats must be worn here'. Also, they need some sort of hint on how to get to the control room in my opinion, as it would have been great to see. Positives- Scary actors, great theming, brilliant concept, unique. Negatives- Queueing system, no notification of issues on the maze, how you met up in the end anyway and how the exit is directly next to the entrance to the maze. Overall, an outstanding maze that you can see was very well thought out. 9/10 Rides in the dark Due to the brilliant mazes, the only ride we did in the dark was STEALTH, which was excellent. We arrived at 10 and despite the queues did The SWARM, stealth front row, Nemesis Inferno and Detonator before 11. Conclusion Overall, I think it was the best fright night yet. Fantastic mazes, fantastic actors and nothing disappointed me. Very well done THORPE, keep it up next year and please do not get rid of the Asylum! The only negatives I can give are that during our 12 hour visit we saw NO roaming actors except ones who simply walked through the start of the queue line to get else where, and way too many fast tracks were sold who were given a very unfair advantage on everyone else. Please split up the actors more THORPE. The best day at THORPE I've ever had.

Coaster
Poor day at Fright Nights today. The park was packed, and the new lighting changes in Asylum were awful! (See my post in the Asylum topic for details). Thought that the new lighting in CITW was ok though, although it was much darker than the other weeks!
