You could easily say that some of the mazes at Thorpe don't have that much that could scare children (just people shouting BOO essentially), but alas, they have a 13 restriction. The number of children who get upset because they are too small for Thorpe's coasters or just in general is high. People assume that young kids don't like thrill rides, not all true. You can't know that when you don't allow small kids on thrill rides due to height restrictions. Not every child is scared off big rides that go upside down, many want to go on them and can't wait to be tall enough. So why not build a thrilling wooden or whatever and give it a 1.2 height restriction (like Wodan or Outlaw Run has) and as long as you don't give it an overly dark scary theme children of the 1.2 height will ride. With the removal of Corkscrew at Towers and so on Britain lacks thrilling rides for children and at the same time older families. The only inverting rides at Merlin parks (with the removal of Submission) for people under 1.4 metres are Zodiac and Enterprise. Not great for children who look for something thrilling that they can ride with their parents. Thirteen is thrilling and only has a height restriction of 1.2m, the only scary thing really is the dark. X now only has a height restriction of 1m since it was changed to forward facing, only issue is that as you can't see the ride from the outside some yoinger guests may be scared of the unknown, but the actual ride is slightly thrilling but fun. Quantum also is only a 1.2m restriction and all of Thorpe's water rides are 1.2m or less. Tallest inverting flat ride in the world is going to be at least 200ft, surely? I really don't think a flat ride that could go that tall would suit Thorpe, and do not issues of capacity would play a part. Plus, any ride which dwarfs Stealth would have to be a no-no in my books. Plus, I don't think it'd be that big of an appeal to guests, if we thinking in the Merlin-way. "Tallest upside non-coaster in the world" doesn't have that big of a pull-factor in my books. I think slammer is one of the tallest rides in the park Slammer's the 4th tallest ride on park, when it reaches maximum height, I believe. 'Tis behind Stealth, Swarm and Detonator. I think you could fit the Hunger games thing that people were saying about if they wanted to do an IP again, which seeing as they are introducing Angry Birds land this year is very likely. That said, having another multi-looper in the park would need to either be better than Colossus or have some worthwhile difference... An Intamin Blitz coaster with lapbars would be excellent, though not sure on the high throughput front... Though not sure if Thorpe would want to go with something that launches due to Stealth... Yes but like others have said its not unique enough, and if its only purpose is to be a multi looper then what's the point having it there with Colossus, unfortunately it doesnt have a unique selling point and the 2 other B&M's in the park are also floorless so to speak so it would be really pointless it being there.
