ATR Thrills
Before the concept for the smiler was decided. The park was extremely close to put a floorless coaster in within the Katanga Canyon sector of the park so I reckon that they will use that layout and place it into the area that will be cleared in Forbidden Valley with the departure of "The Blade" and the removal of trees
Benin
I believe it was meant to be a Stand-Up coaster (ew, ew and thrice ew) going into Katanga... Ā Doubt they'd put a Floorless coaster right next to Nemesis either...
Matt 236
As far as I'm aware, here's what I reckon will be happening for SW8 1/ It will either be an RMC or B&M prototype 2/ the coaster will either be in Forbidden Valley (where Blade & Ripsaw are) or Cross Valley Hopefully the track will not be Merlin black, (since we have three coasters here already with that colour scheme)
Charlesberg
Some of the roller coasters at Alton Towers have been a first of it's kind (Air, Oblivion, Th13teen) and some of the roller coasters have had the first elements (Oblivion, Th13teen, Smiler). What I'm trying to say is that I recon that SW8 may be the first of its kind or use an element that hasn't been used. Either way it'll probably surprise us quite a lot. Project LC
B&M launched wing rider in the air car park is what I'm expecting. It may not be a worlds first but it would offer a very unique ride experience in the UK, and I'm sure the Merlin team can come up with some stupid worlds first tag line for it.Ā
OldFarmerDean
I would hope not to see a wing coaster.... just for the reason that some experiences are becoming too similar... I'm supporting wood all the way or at least an RMC... but I'm sure I can see myself being disappointed! pognoi
Ian-S
What's an RMC? Edit: never mind, googled it.
ATR Thrills
Can't see an RMC being installed but I reckon they might get a Mach Ride like Helix at Liseburg
pognoi
Can definitely picture an RMC. I think it'd work really well.
ATR Thrills
Maybe a RMC in the gloomy wood or something behind duel
Tom
What's an RMC? Edit: never mind, googled it. In future if you hover you mouse over the acronym, a full description will pop up! Edit: Like DLP Ian-S

Tom
I heard from someone who knows someone who used to work at the park as a gardener that it was going to be a Ā Sourceless piece of nonsense Kerfuffle and Whiteknuckle

JoshC.
Well they did say that. Ā Just because they're a staff member, it doesn't mean what they say will happen. Ā In all likelihood, they either won't know, or will know but wouldn't (be allowed to) say. Ā
Coaster
Staff like to wind up people and have a laugh, I wouldn't take it as confirmed just from one member of ride staff - like others have said, if it was happening then they wouldn't be allowed to talk about it. Deleted Users
A TL told me that Slammer was going at the end of the season... in 2012. Don't believe their lies.
Matt 236
This all just reminds me of a time when someone said here ageeees ago that the coaster near loggers (which we now know is Saw) was going to be like Air. Something Along the lines of Air is coming to Thorpe Park.
SteveJ
Or maybe they have been told (some) true information, but as they are far removed from the ones making the decisions plans may change without them knowing or they only have a fraction of the story. They might not be 'lying' but it's all just grapevinery until something actually happens. JoshC.
Deleted Users
After previous issues with information being told to staff and then being leaked, I doubt any seasonal staff know anything.
