Has anyone done any Halloween events in Europe, and if so any recommendations? I did Asterix last year which was great so I’m keen to try some others this year, looking at potentially doing Walabi Holland and Belgium but any thoughts would be appreciated If anyones done either of the Walibi parks at Halloween what did you think of them?

Disney and Miral just announced a brand new resort park in Abu Dhabi. Looks like they have gone down a different route and are doing something different to the usual castle park(judging by the concept art) Disney and Miral Announce New Seventh Theme Park Planned for Abu Dhabi Disney Announces Plans for New Theme Park and Resort with Miral in Abu Dhabi

We have a variety of threads for parks all around the world. But it's perhaps hard to track things. And there's also plenty of parks which we don't have threads for. BUT. Loads of parks around the world are getting new major rides for 2025. So let's try something new, and track them all in one thread. So this will be the life and soul of any non-UK ride getting built. Some bigger / more popular parks / rides might get their own thread / attention, but this is for a bit of everything... So here's a few to get us started... Walibi Holland are getting YoY, a pair of duelling RMC single rail raptors... The green trac…

The World's Most Underrated Theme Park - Genting SkyWorlds Malaysia Review Great review of this park. One of the oddest ones out there I think. On top of a mountain, previously known as 20th Century Fox World Malaysia. Essentially a licensed Disney park with all of the IP's that probably don't fit into a normal Disney park. Its crazy how much IP Disney owns now!

Interesting vid about Six Flags, and the endangered amusement park. Six Flags & The Endangered Amusement Park Was thinking that Thorpe Park was on the ball back in 2008 for the SAW IP, seeing the future trend of IP in parks. Saying that, Six Flags did have WB IP in the parks in the early 2000's. I suppose parks in the UK don't directly compete with the likes of Disney/Universal, whereas in the States Six Flags kind of do.

  6. Saw this posted on CoasterForce. Love these kind of parks, I really need to visit Toverland. Wish we could get something like this in the UK. I think the concept of an indoor theme park like this would work really well. Concept Art

  8. In rather sad and unexpected news, it has been announced that California's Great America will be closing within the next 11 years, as Cedar Fair has sold the land it sits on to a company planning to develop it for real estate: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20220623005938/en/Cedar-Fair-Capitalizes-on-Opportunity-to-Sell-Its-Land-at-California’s-Great-America-Amusement-Park This money is being used to reduce Cedar Fair's debt. I don't know about any of you, but this comes as a big surprise to me; CGA had a very elaborate masterplan only a few years ago, if I'm remembering correctly, so something must have changed drastically.

Legoland Deutschland has announced that they are building a new €15.5m coaster in 2023, that will be the first of its type in a Legoland park: https://www.themepark-central.de/legoland-deutschland-neuheit-2023/ The ride will be located in a new themed area between the holiday village and Land of the Pharaohs that will also contain another attraction. Nothing else has been said other than the budget, the fact that it’s part of a themed area, and that it’s the first of its type in a Legoland park. There are no real rumours, but interestingly, I’ve heard both an SBF Hamster Wheel (suggested within the above article) and an S&S Axis (a European park wa…

I had a look and apparently we don't have an IoA thread? How? I'll just drop this leaked concept art of the new Potter coaster that's replacing Duelling Dragons, and maybe fill in some more details later...

Over the past few years, China has very much burst onto the theme park scene, with many parks being built from the ground up and seeing substantial coasters added. It's probably fair to say that some of B&M's, Intamin's and GCI's best-looking coasters over the past few years have ended up in China. And that investment doesn't seem to be slowing down, so here's the thread to discuss all things China! I'll start with a few good looking things... I don’t think there’s a topic on this park yet. This may well be the most beautiful theme park out there! The theming is just next level, it’s such a pretty park I am very glad I took the day to go. That said you probably don’t need more than a day. I hear they are expanding the park in 2022 with a new ‘port’, themed on tangled, frozen and Peter Pan, so that should help with the crowding. Some of the food options were very memorable including garlic shrimp popcorn and potato churros. Journey to the centre of the earth was a fun ride, and both Indiana Jones rides were quite dull, so it will be interesting to hear what rides the new port will ha…

Canada’s Wonderland is perhaps the biggest and most famous theme park in Canada, who are part of the Cedar Fair Group. In 2019 the park will be opening Yukon Striker, their brand new dive coaster which will become the longest in the world. Valravn at Cedar Point currently holds that title. Promotional video and animated POV Not sure on the name or the second half, but there are some interesting elements in the ride’s layout. The drop going under the water which interacts with their swinging coaster Vortex, is probably my favourite looking part of the ride.

Let's be honest, what's the point of an entire thread dedicated to Parc Saint Paul? Sooooo I thought why not put all those smaller places into one topic that will see the likes of PSP, Le Pal and many, many more have updates on what they're getting in the future for all budding cred runners! To start off, Parc Saint Paul are getting a Gravity Group wooden coaster next year: Elsewhere in France, Le Pal (near Lyon) is getting a JOYvelen clone (https://rcdb.com/15072.htm), and a brand new park in Parc Spirou (https://rcdb.com/12676.htm) is being built in the South, with a Zierer tower launched thing coming with it. …

Felt we had a SDC topic because of Outlaw Run but obviously not... SDC are building a Mack coaster for 2018. Not much is known at the mo (an announcement is due on the 16th), but rumours are suggesting to will be called Time Travellers and that it will be a launched spinning coaster. But to add a twist to the rumour, track has started to go up and poses more questions... Source - http://www.midwestinfoguide.com/2017/08/time-traveler-construction-sdc_3.html Yep, a 90 degree drop out of the ride's station - nice way to start any ride, but a spinner? Who knows. So yeah, definitely one to watch...

  17. The mysterious pink track outside this park has finally been given some recognition. The new roller coaster will feature the name "DC Rivals Hypercoaster" which is a bit of a dull name but nevetheless, it still looks to be a great success with all the airtime and especially that bright colour.

  18. So Sod it, I've never been and think its about time I took myself off to Orlando - the home of theme parks! Basically I just want some advice from those that have been. Core park essentials for me are to do all the Disney parks (although possibly excluding the water parks/ the water parks aren't a priority) and Universal studios and Islands of Adventure. BONUS parks would be seaworld and BUCSH Gardens! but Id rather spend multiple days at the other parks to get all the the attractions done than fitting too much in/rushing! So in terms of where to stay - where is the best to do a Disney and Universal combo? Can you stay at a Disney hotel and easil…

I'm amazed we don't have a topic for this lovely park! Should have been enough of a reason on its own! They have a huge expansion plan in progress with an aim of doubling gate figures up to 1.2 million by 2025. So as seen here the entrance will move, 3 big phases for new themed area (first one for 2018 which is the yellow one) and a hotel! Buildings up to 30metres bar the entrance which has a 45 metre tower whenever that materialises. New rides up to 45 metres with the exception of 3 rides allowed to go to 100 metres. They have nice neighbours it seems (if they have neighbours, its very middle of no where) So what are they buil…

Couldn't find a topic so started on. Hong Kong Disneyland has always felt the small, overshadowed and forgotten Disney resort (though Paris is also debatable). However, this looks likely to change through a major new multi-year development scheme. One of the main main and most interesting parts of the scheme will see the Sleeping Beauty Castle, which will be transformed and aesthetically changed. Source-TDR Explorer The castle looks to adding to the castle rather than completely rebuilding. Still a first in Disney as this will be the first castle in park history to be extensively changed since opening. …

So, it looks like there's a new theme park on its way in the USA: https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.al.com/articles/19595697/roller_coaster_rivaling_longes.amp?client=safari The 520 acre development is in Alabama and will contain a 14 acre lake, a 150 room hotel and a theme park. The theme park will have 3 large scale thrill rides - one of which is claimed to be the second longest in the USA and looks to be manufactured by zamperla. Nice fly through: The concept art looks amazing and incredibly highly themed too. Reminds me slightly of the concept art for paramount because of the grandness:

  22. Hi All, I couldn't find a thread on this already so I figured I'd start my own. Wanted to know if any of you have ever been or are planning to go to Aquopolis water park in Spain? It is just down from PortAventura in a place called La Pineda and it claims to be... "The Best Water Park". Probably what made me choose this over Costa Cariba was that it also had a dolphin show at the end of the day so I felt I was getting a little more for money, and the ticket was slightly cheaper than Cariba as well. However, I probably wouldn't go back. Compared to the likes of Wet n Wild, Blizzard Beach etc in Florida this one doesn't really match up. That being said, some of the slide…

Energylandia is the biggest theme park in Poland and looks to have a very exciting future ahead. This year, it invested in a Vekoma launch coaster called Formula 1 which looks like a really wild ride! But, for 2018, the park will be opening a mega coaster. 2 layouts have been shortlisted and both have been released to the public. These layouts are from Vekoma and Intamin and the park are giving the public the chance to vote for which one they would like to see built. Personally, I prefer Vekoma's design, but what do you think is the better design? Discuss that, and anything related to Energylan…

  24. Movie Park is perhaps one of Germanys lesser known parks, being home to a top quality indoor gerstlauer, a terrible woodie, marmite SLC amongst others. However for 2017, the park is set to gain another star attraction, in the form of A Mack launch coaster which will be themed around Star Trek. Source- Movie Park Facebook. Certainly looks an interesting and exciting coaster.

Thought I would create a Topic for Slagharen, a particularly interesting park with a particularly funny name. Pretty under the radar for us brits but have announced a new Gerst coaster that will be replacing there old "Thunder Loop" coaster (https://rcdb.com/907.htm) It's a pretty interesting ride that looks rather fun, here's a CGI POV: The park also has some interesting other rides and a Water Park with some interesting sounding slides. Now as I am visiting Europe on a theme park road trip next year, I'm going to squeeze this in as it is kind of on route.
