Fright Nights 2019 - General Discussion

I'm not sure why blair witch still remains, surely there is something more exciting they can do with the space. I did it last year and well it was better than dead creek woods but pretty poor, and not many actors. When you look at Tulleys for example, they only really have one dud maze (VIXI) but they have 8 others and circus of horrors too, and seem to be going from strength to strength, while Thorpe's FNs feel a bit stagnant. The roaming actors at tulleys are a laugh and they definitely create an atmosphere. When a maze seems to be getting mixed reviews (again other than VIXI) they seem to reinvent it, like the colony and the cellar. It seems that thorpe just doesn't care as I'm sure they think people (like me lol) will turn up regardless of how much they change so why bother. They've taken a leaf out of tulleys book with doing a copy sister to the chop shop, but I feel they shouldn't have stopped there.1 point -

Pretty sure it would be in it’s fourth location then. Jumbos originally opened with Circus World, which is where Wild Asia is now. That area closed around the late nineties and Jumbos was relocated to Toy Town (now Africana) with a now removed Clown Coaster. It stayed there for numerous years until it was relocated to it’s current location in 2012, to make way for the current stage area there now. The area where the ride is now was once home to the iconic Rodeo attraction, which also used to be in Circus World. Rodeo closed around 2004/2005 time I believe. Chessington has had a fair fair history of rides moving about, but I don’t think any of have seen as much compared to the Flying Jumbos ride. It’s new location will be where the old Carousel was, which is currently home to a cheap upcharge attraction.1 point -

May have already been mentioned but yesterday was the first time I noticed that SAW: TR has seen some vast improvements in its audio - the 802s in the plaza are much louder now and sound fantastic, the queue line audio has also had a volume boost, and inside the station the sound effects and announcements in the queue, loading area and from on the ride at dispatch are much louder and clearer. Really adds to the atmosphere of the whole ride experience, but of course then your head gets bashed about so much you forget all about it 😂1 point

And there we have it!! “Introducing our brand new district "Wastelands" the home or our brand new attraction Wastelands Penitentiary. The year is 1998, 13 years beyond the moment of “light”, the explosion ripped through our world, bringing an end to civil life. Buildings became ruins, forests became wastelands and to survive humans pulled on their primal instincts. The penitentiary was strong and secure, but since the disaster it has become a haven for all that is bad. The power shift has changed. Inmates once detained are now free, guards that were in control are fighting to survive…will you?” Solid looking line up!! This and Wreckoning look like two very strong additions to the line up potentially.1 point -
If there's a touch scare maze featuring the roaming nurses then I'm cool with that 😍1 point

Ooh a pirate-themed maze! Maybe they’ll use parts of Black Buccaneer for the theming 😂1 point

It's formerly the Colony so approx. duration in the maze is 2 hours.1 point

I hope everyone gets what they wish for... ...In reality, another year waves hello to yet another shake up in Thorpe’s management, staffing, project management and direction, meaning, yet again, consistency goes out of the window. Fright Nights is sadly an unorganised and chaotic event with little to no thought, direction or drive, and change in personnel can mark very significant differences in delivery. Big Top not returning due to lack of tent? More like lack of intent, with the creative minds and team behind its success walking away heads held high after completely turning around what was a disasterous delivery in 2015...1 point

The Park are wasting no time in demolishing Bob, but then again they have an intense schedule with the replacement coasters opening next year. Source-Loopings Whilst it was nowhere near my favourite coaster, seeing this fun attraction being demolished is rather saddening. R.I.P Bob 1985-20190 points
