January 14, 201411 yr Author comment_174987 Open times have been updated on http://www.thorpepark.com/plan-your-visit/opening-times.aspx March 14th, 15th and 16th are now Preview days as are the 8th, 9th and 10th of October. The season has also been extended a week now ending on the 9th of November. Is this the first season that there are no 10-5pm closes on weekends at all?
January 14, 201411 yr comment_174988 The entirity of June is 10-6?That's impressive... Might hopefully kick off a desire for the parks to have decent opening hours a bit more regularly...
January 14, 201411 yr Author comment_174994 Don't forget Summer Nights are also back every Friday and Saturday from the 11th July to 30th August
January 14, 201411 yr comment_175000 Marc get out of the way there's an argument developing and my popcorn is going cold.
January 14, 201411 yr comment_175003 Isnt it weird that normal fright nights is the 4th and 5th, but the preview days are 8th 9th 10th?
January 14, 201411 yr comment_175004 Those fright night preview days are oddly done, nice to see its more than one day even if it is after the first weekend... And does that mean those days are closed to public?
January 14, 201411 yr comment_175005 Those fright night preview days are oddly done, nice to see its more than one day even if it is after the first weekend... And does that mean those days are closed to public? No, they'd be normal 10am-5pm days with the Fright Nights event happening after that.
January 14, 201411 yr comment_175008 cheers, I mean I guessed that as that's what they done last year - but surely to the general public this would look as if they were closed? :/ great to see thorpe working on their great opening times from last year, for even better ones... thorpe are really setting an example for alton towers here.
January 14, 201411 yr comment_175034 Fantastic opening hours, let's hope they stay that way. Good to see them building them back up again. Opening hours are key to any park, so the longer the better!
January 16, 201411 yr comment_175104 I realise that the railway is in the wrong area of the park to be tied in with the new land but it'd be relatively easy to tie the CCR to an Angry Birds theme if it ever where to happen. Replace the bears with evil piggies and hey presto.
January 16, 201411 yr comment_175115 The preview dates have now been taken off the website. Not sure why.
January 16, 201411 yr comment_175118 The preview dates have now been taken off the website. Not sure why. on the fright night previews, it says the park is closed! Hopefully this means that the normal fright nights times of 3-10 will happen just for annual passes.
January 16, 201411 yr comment_175119 I still don't quite get the positioning of the Fright Nights preview nights/days. Really would expect them to be on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd before the first weekend. Otherwise, it's not a very good preview Wouldn't be surprised with the way they added "Preview Days" and have now removed them that they aren't actually finalised yet.
January 16, 201411 yr comment_175130 I can't help noticing the 3 days in question are actually showing as the park being closed ? Maybe it's just my eyes not focusing the right colour? I don't know. As for June opening till 6 the entire month, maybe something to do with angry birds world, I know it's supposedly opening in May but for all we know it could be May 31st...? Maybe I'm looking in to things too much Maybe, just maybe I'm being too, I'm using the word maybe too much...
January 16, 201411 yr comment_175134 well june has longer daylight hours, and a reasonably busy time, so thorpe are just being nice doing so for guests...
January 20, 201411 yr comment_175299 Hi all There were a few mistakes on the opening times which should now have been fixed - sorry for any confusion! The preview dates have been removed from the calendar - not because they aren't happening but because these are special invitation only events, not open to the general public. The Park is not closing in October at all, these dates will be normal 10 - 5 operating dates, and Fright Nights will be kicking off to the general public on the 11th October. June will be open 10 - 5pm Monday - Thursday, and 10 - 6pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And of course Summer Nights will be making a return on Friday and Saturday nights from the 11th July - 30th August, although this will not feature on the opening times as it is a special event.
January 20, 201411 yr comment_175301 so with fright nights not starting til the 11th now... the preview nights will happen before the first public day now - thanks for clearing up any confusion. Any more information on the start of season preview days?
January 22, 201411 yr Author comment_175364 http://www.thorpepark.com/summer-nights/ Summer Nights page for 2014 now up
January 22, 201411 yr comment_175375 Ticket prices Standard £15, Evening events £5, Annual Pass £5 What on earth does this mean?! The standard ticket for this is £15, unless it is an evening event, which it is, so it is £5. Huh?
January 22, 201411 yr comment_175379 What on earth does this mean?! The standard ticket for this is £15, unless it is an evening event, which it is, so it is £5. Huh? Maybe there are some kind of extra events during Summer Nights going on you can pay for or something? Isn't a fiver the price of the mazes during Fright Nights? Could be some confusion with that or something new in Summer Nights they haven't mentioned yet Or it could just be another Thorpe mistake XD Either way Premium Pass this year means I shouldn't have to worry about prices
January 22, 201411 yr comment_175380 Premium Pass this year means I shouldn't have to worry about prices Aaah, I was under the impression that Premium passholders have to pay the £5 for this one as well... Please tell me I'm wrong!
January 22, 201411 yr comment_175382 Pretty certain Premium passholders have to pay as well; I could be mistaken though! The price structure for Summer Nights seems a bit confused I must say. Maybe there's some extra things (maybe a performance in the arena?) or something similar whereby they're adding on an extra price? Could easily be a mistake though...
January 22, 201411 yr comment_175389 Had to pay last year if I recall... Mainly due to it being out of hours I guess... Sure there will be some actual answers to the question... Jesus they're months away...
January 22, 201411 yr comment_175392 In fairness on the compare passes page for the Merlin pass site it says..... THORPE PARK An event booking fee will apply to Fright Nights and other special events at THORPE PARK regardless of the time of entry or departure; But only regarding standard passes, the text doesn't appear for premium passes. It's on the side tab bit saying 'Your Quote Summary' here: http://www.merlinannualpass.co.uk/compare-passes.aspx So I would assume that Premium holders shouldn't have to pay, though it is only a fiver if I am wrong and I would be fine paying that XD I just like cutting corners
