1729
Personally I think the logo is good, it is versatile and the colours and patterns help it, still it be interesting to see its implementation beyond concept. However even as a sub logo I think the Infinity symbol still had a place in the rebrand However I'm guessing its still the 'island like no other'
Cernuschi
There's noting "wrong" with it - I just find the logo a bit bland, but as simple as possible seems to be the modern way, though others are a bit more clever with their design. Just feels like something is missing from it... coasterverse
JohnnyRocket
A look at the wider Thorpe Park rebrand. Do really love all the patterns, colours and applications! https://www.robyeodesign.com/thorpe-park-rebrand skelly

JohnnyRocket
The new logo has been picked up by a rebranding blog I subscribe to. They look at the new rebrand, logo, marketing etc and have given it quite a bad review. It’s behind a paywall but this is the summary. “Overall, this is very sad and a missed opportunity because it’s rare that theme parks get redesigns and there is so much material to draw from, especially for one with such a rich history as Thorpe Park — what this needed was more 1980s water bus energy” The reader comments are also unfortunately quite scathing! https://www.underconsideration.com/brandnew/archives/new_logo_and_identity_for_thorpe_park.php

Mattgwise
The park simply adding these rings to the background make it better! They should make that a permanent addition. (taken from the FB annual Pass page)

Inferno
I quite like that behind the text as well. I think it would make the social media logos pop a little more. Also you know all the squiggly bits that appear on the videos and posters etc? I knew it looked familiar… It’s just the thing in the middle of Quantum. I guess an homage to the most underrated ride at the park! MattyMoo and JoshC. 1

Stuntman707
Thorpe released a somewhat embarrassing video explaining how their new Kelvinized Dafont logo was styled to include Stealth references. I bet the graphic designers were happy they were paid for it. At least they designed the o themselves. 😅
JohnnyRocket
A global rebrand review blog has now named Thorpe Park’s the 2nd worst of 2023. Inferno
I really don't understand why people are still pouring their heart out over this. It's not like the logo was the reason people visited Thorpe. It's literally just a logo, and is it really that bad? JoshC.

It’s an end of year round up over the course of 2023 of different rebrands. I’ve personally got used to it, but it’s still ultimately a crap logo. And that’s what this thread is dedicated to. The park hasn’t even opened its doors yet following the new rebrand! coasterverse and Mattgwise
tactic
I know they needed to update the app icon for the new logo, but this is definitely not it… Come on Thorpe at least get the logo to fit in the icon.
Inferno
I quite like it. You can still tell what it is. Just like a lot of the other apps out there, it doesn’t need to have the whole logo or the name or the app.
Benin
Looks terrible and another example of how poor the design is.

tactic
To be fair, I do quite like the logo on the app; the colours look great. They do need to fix the way it fits though, that’s what annoys me most.

Yeah that's definitely a stylistic choice, I personally don't mind it... well, as much as somebody who still doesn't really like the new logo can 'not mind' something. The new logo has definitely grown on me though, my opinion of it now is 'it's okay'. I still think the old one suited the tone of the park better and they'd have been better off keeping the infinity rings but just changing the comic sans logo, but alas the new Dafont logo is seemingly here to stay! Inferno
I was wondering what people’s thoughts of the new branding were, now that it’s had nearly a year to settle in, and now that we have all seen it actually in use at the park? Personally I think for me it’s definitely an improvement, especially when you’re actually inside the park and you can see it on all the signage, banners, advertising, uniforms, flags etc. it all works quite well when it’s large and used on physical things. The big signage at the front of the park looks great - and going in to the dome with the large logo to the right and nice branded video playing on the big screen before heading outside again really does work. the music also goes very nicely with it, and does work well I think for the park. It really does work well in person and has honestly made a positive impact on the park in my opinion at least. The staff uniforms look much more professional as well, not to mention more practical. I think where it falls down slightly is when the logo is used in isolation online - for example the logo on its own on social media avatars doesn’t look great, and even the logo when used on things like bags of chocolate in the supermarket just fades away and is so missable compared to the bold orange and blue infinity that everyone instantly recognised. I’m no graphic designer, but I think these need to be changed somehow to liven it up a bit - I mean come on, look at this screenshot from instagram. I also think the website is a missed opportunity. They seem to have kept the existing website and just replaced the old logo with the new one (actually even on some of the tickets actually the old logo still shows!) this is a shame, because such effort has gone in to rebranding the physical park, and no effort in to the website it seems, where the new colours, patterns and lovely squiggly animation things could have really come to life. Overall though, I think it’s actually quite nice, and although I miss the infinity logo, there’s no denying it was old fashioned and a little scruffy. The new and striking Bold, bright, colourful, but not ott branding is a good look for Thorpe I think. JoshC.
JoshC.
I think the branding in general is an upgrade. It's great to see a consistent, clear tone across marketing, and it feels like the park knows itself now. I totally agree that in isolation it's a bit bland and easily missed. It doesn't exactly scream "theme park" either. But when included in videos or within other things, it works well. I also think it's got extra versatility. I loved how they used the infinity logo in different ways in the past Fright Nights blood, Oktoberfest pretzel, etc). But it was harder to achieve and only done infrequently. The current logo can be easily tweaked to suit ride/event colours and style, and it makes everything feel a bit more natural. For example, we can see Colossus, Hyperia and Fright Nights versions of the Thorpe logo, and they blend in nicely with each individual identity, but still feel part of the Thorpe brand. I still prefer the infinity logo, which probably has a bit of nostalgia attached to it anyways. But the current logo is modern, in style with how logos work these days, and is still versatile. And, more importantly, the park have a consistent brand identity, which has been a big issue in recent years. owenstreet7
