November 8, 201014 yr comment_102983 I can't see Vortex getting 350 either..To be honest, I was surprised Vortex was that low; I always thought theoretically it was 500-600. Feels a heck of a lot quicker than 350 max too..

November 8, 201014 yr comment_103001 Yeh was a shame as they did so much work to it when it was down, trying to get it ready for the last week of FN, fair play to them for getting it ready asap! I can see why it is now the only one of it's kind in the world in operation!

November 8, 201014 yr comment_103008 Did it close again yesterday?It closed Saturday for a few hours after an issue which was resolved as it did reopen, however it must of happened again during testing because it did not open Sunday.

November 9, 201014 yr comment_103050 I'd actually say it's been one of it's best :-pI have to second this as apart from the one month of downtime it had it has been very reliable and any breakdowns it did have were sorted quite rapidly.

November 9, 201014 yr comment_103061 Which to some extent is rather sad...Why is it so?Thorpe 'apparently' (since I haven't been much this year and they were both usual days of busy times mixed with do not want), have improved it's reliability and other things... Granted Thorpe didn't particularly impress me on my two visits this year, but hey, my mood of seeing 2 coasters down in the morning was never gonna improve... They've evidently tried a lot harder to fix rides with Slammer being the obvious example (yes it broke again, but it's the only existing version of it atm, so hey)...

Just sad to think that a ride that's been down so much is on a better season...When you consider how much downtime it had in recent years, which sometimes felt like it was closed more then it was open its an eyeopener that it had so little downtime. The month down was not the rides fault, but the parks as well as S&S's.

Just sad to think that a ride that's been down so much is on a better season...It's not really a Thorpe issue as Rush has had a fantastic season with little to no downtime.Slammer is just one of those rides that doesn't work. The same ride type in America has been dogged with problems ever since it opened in 2003. The fact that Slammer went nearly a whole season without issues is testament to Thorpe's constant work on it. They deserve praise, not criticism.
November 9, 201014 yr comment_103074 In no way am I criticizing Thorpe; they've done very well this season. It's just that whatever way you look at it, for a ride to be down for a month and for it to be labelled 'good' or 'an improvement' isn't very reassuring - whatever the ride or the park!
