Kerfuffle
Thorpe are saying they are hoping to get Slammer going again, they have said they are not scrapping her yet THAT'S a relief! Cal

InfernoMartin
Some of us have been talking in chat and some people who went today have said at around 4:30 slammer did some testing ( not any spinning but going up and down) =D It looks good for the future of slammer if its testing again You have to love them engineers the amount of money and effort they keep putting in her! Cal
Wooo! That's good news! Hopefully after a lot of testing, we will see Slammer open again! To be honest, after the testing every day stopping and no work continuing on Slammer, I thought that they had given up with her.
planenut
Keep watching, told by an "angry bird" today that it should be back in operation very soon.
Flipper
Today witnessed Slammer at the top with its pins retracted (?) - basically it was holding itself up there; and it was doing it for pro-longed periods of time on a couple of occasions. Again, no spinning; but glad to see some work going on. Water dummies have also been removed - don't know if thats good news or bad.
Benin
Same stuff it was doing at MAP weekend... Can't predict if it will open again...
Cal
Well if they had a period of no testing, and now they are doing the same sort of tests again, they probably had a problem and had to fit another part. Can't wait until it opens again :D Sent from my iPhone 5S using Tapatalk
Ricky
I think this will be a case of "Don't get your hopes up" - To save yourself from disappointment, personally would love to see it open again, but let's be honest if it's playing up this much, it's been closed almost a year now! Then I can see them giving up completely. paige
Coaster
It's nice to see them trying though, as a lot of parks would have given up by now.
paige
Even if they dio get it up and running again, I can see it getting so worn out over summer that it'll be dead again by the end of the season.
Flipper
I'm surprised it hasn't been given up on yet, but even without getting our hopes up we can still praise the park for making active efforts. Personally I like it being closed. When I rode it early last year a couple of times all it did was give me horrific headaches and blood rushes to the head - that ain't fun nor thrilling. So the longer it's closed the longer I go without being dragged on it :-)
planenut
Not so much the parts being obtained and fitted but other procedural matters.
Project LC
Apparently slammer is ready to open. Only problem is that there is no evac producers so there reluctant to open it. (according to towertimes anyway)
Coaster
It was at the top of the ride for a while today, then saw them lowering it.
Mitchada04
I think that was one of the problems last year. It would get stuck at the top and it took them often half and hour to get people off. So that would explain why they are stopping it at the top and having the pins taken out to see if it can support itself and then lower. paige
Maybe they'll try to get it open at the same time as AB Land?
Ryan
^ They'll probably open it as soon as they can.
Cal
THORPE PARK Official Slammer is undergoing extensive refurbishment and we hope to announce details real soon/ Thanks She should be open real soon! :D
Flipper
Apparently slammer is ready to open. Only problem is that there is no evac producers so there reluctant to open it. (according to towertimes anyway) TowersTimes thought that a roller coaster could have a washing machine element hidden inside it - they're not the most reliable, believable, intelligent, or pretty much any of the above of fan sites - especially when it comes to Thorpe. #Burn I now refer back to Ricky's post. "Don't get you're hopes up". pluk

Flipper
Rumours today were to expect it tomorrow. Emphasis on rumours. I think we should consider any staff who've rode it lucky; as they're likely to be the only riders this year
