Mark9
Are you ever in the country long enough to get to the best regional theme park in Staines upon Thames?

Han30
Was watching Samurai today just after necking half a ton of pizza and pasta and the cycle looked so bad I think I could have easily gone on it and kept my lunch inside - weirdly the next cycle was more intense so I’m glad I didn’t make that decision. Just thought it odd that there was a noticeable difference in the 2 cycles or I need to go to Specsavers
Mattgwise
Halloween TPM meet we had the most intense and thrilling ride in its history at Thorpe Park, to then go on it a little later and have an absolutely abysmal cycle.

It’s bizarre - the same has happened to me where I’ve gone on and it’s just meandered around not doing much but later on it will give a few decent flips and spins - I know it has different settings but unsure why it would go from one extreme to another ?♂️ Mattgwise
Marhelorpe
And the award for the world’s worst setting on a Mondial Top Scan goes to...... A6BB990D-FA25-4104-86F2-7D46AFE05E70.MOV (Taken on 15/06/19) And yes, every cycle was like this. The claw span the opposite direction to the arm for the entire ride, making it the most boring and dire experience you can possibly imagine. Never seen it this bad ever before. Marc
I’ve noticed it’s been on this setting for a few weeks now, it’s quite odd I can only assume there’s some sort of issue meaning they have to use that setting as it’s pretty awful to ride! Mattgwise
It really was awful, only inverted once fully when riding it, and no force or intensity at all. Hope its not going to always be like this now.
JDann
I think Samurai was actually running quite a decent cycle on Friday. Maybe due to there being absolute no queue whatsoever, but the ride cycle was a good 5 minutes long. Nowhere at Top Buzz levels, but was impressed considering I remember it running some abysmal settings many years back. It was actually closed in the Morning aswell, so not sure if this had any relevance.
Mattgwise
It has changed its "regular" cycle again to a very very long programme, that is great and intense for the first minute and half or so, then it just spends about 3 minutes going left to right repeating itself, with not much action. Still a massive improvement on the dire setting it had been on recently.
LK_
Running a dire setting the past weekend, ride lasted about 30 seconds, 2 full rotations either way with the arm spinning the opposite direction, barely any flips 😞 Mattgwise
Glitch
Was good on Thursday night. Never done so many intense flips.
Mattgwise
Last Halloween myself and @Marc literally had our most intense ride since it was at thorpe park and one of the worst ever rides we'd ever experienced within our visit! LK_
Seems like she's dead again. cherry picker on site and area taped off edit: seems like it got stuck.
Cal
Pretty sure it was up again by the end of the day?
JoshC.
It's not as big an issue as it looks - it can happen on these top scans. As with many rides, it probably doesn't help that it hasn't seen continuous operation for several months, especially since it would have been ready to go too. I believe it was only stuck like that for a couple of minutes before it was able to be manually lowered down. Obviously wouldn't be pleasant to be stuck on the 'top' or 'bottom' arm though. LK_
To be honest, I never noticed much downtime on samuari last year, every single visit I made, it was running, albiet on a piss poor setting though, anyone know what the settings are like this season so far?
Cal
Yeah Samurai has been a lot more reliable the last few years Anyone know if Samurai still needs a minimum of 15 people to ride? Can imagine loading could be a bit of a nightmare at the moment with 1 group per row and minimum of 15 people?
Mattgwise
Yep It still needs a minimum of 15 to ride. But one reason is to stop it getting stuck in the position shown in the video. 15 or more is supposed to make it weigh out to the 9pm point from what I remember. So not sure why it's gone to the 12 o clock point.
LK_
Actually had a mega ride on Samurai over the weekend, not sure what setting it was running but it was at least 3 minutes long and intense all the way through, proper threw me around
JoshC.
If there's been any benefit to the park opening in July, it's that the likes of Samurai, amongst others, haven't had the chance to tear themselves to pieces just before Fright Nights. JoshuaA
I got about 5 rides in this season on Samurai, and yeah agreed, it is running brilliant. It seems to be consistently on a decent cycle, it also seems to be dead at certain times of the day as well so you can grab plenty of rides in. I'm glad its still going strong
Han30
Only done 2 trips to Thorpe this year and not managed to get on Samurai yet - would have done on last visit but it looked like it was whipping everyone around and I didn’t fancy up-chucking my lunch

I was expecting it's half assed cycle but that was a big fat nope! It was the best ride on Samurai I've had from memory. Honestly insane.
