Jammy3112
So, my rather noobish question here is...They had a sign up already when Stealth was named The Edge? If so, are there pictures of what that sign looked like? James_C
Fred
Maybe the new sign is deliberate with the hint of edge behind it? That'd be quite cool. I like stuff like that which are deliberately done to add a bit of substance to the park. Disney style. Maybe.
SteveJ
Next they'll add a hastily crossed-out "Space Station Zero" to the Flying Fish sign Whiteknuckle, Fred and pluk

planenut
Whilst riding Stealth today, it broke down, a ten minute off load and reset and away again, then a couple of hours later, broke down big time, and I had a guy next to me who couldn't speak English, great conversation. They eventually had to offload using the independent release system on each unit, and it was out for over an hour. Back on later. Lots of people in the park, why weren't these kids at school? paige
^^ I do believe that study leave has begun with some 'proper' exams starting next week. I don't know for sure though, as I don't get study leave. Stealth broke down for about half an hour on Saturday, too. Odd.
pognoi
Yeah study leave for year 11's starts around about now. Year 12's go next week, and yr 13's the week after.
planenut
Ok, I'm an old f... but come on, do the study at school, they can't do it in queues at TP. pluk
pognoi
exactly. These days many people don't utilise study leave (myself included admittedly) but until a few days before the exam it can be seen as an extra holiday and many people go out to theme parks or to town to spend free time rather then studying hence why now many schools are stopping study leave (now including mine too)
Jack F
Odd question, but I remember some names on the Stealth headrests when I went in March. Are they still there, and what are they for?
RobF
One train has them. They let u bid for a famous persons seat which was then printed with the winning bidders name and the person they bid for
TraX
Totally have my name on one of those. It was only meant to be for a year. Graeme and JoshC.
Jack F
Totally have my name on one of those. It was only meant to be for a year. How much you have to pay, and when and why? So confused
Graeme
How much you have to pay, and when and why? So confused 2006 or 07? they were on eBay. I paid £120 for mine, got an annual pass, 2 free tickets, unlimited fast track and £15 voucher to spend in park. All proceeds went to charity and my name is still on it with Ricky Gervais. Last I saw it was on the front row Jack F
Aaron Tuckwell
I remember Alton auctioning off seats on Rita for charity too.. If you won, you could visit the park whenever, enter the queue by the exit and get straight on.. for as many times as you wanted for that year... Lewis.
There were engineers working on the launch yesterday, so something to do with that I guess. I overheard one of the staff members yesterday saying "If you want to make a complaint you can go to guest services, or you could go and speak to the rides themselves". I love those totally bonkers members of staff you occasionally come across! holtjammy16, Ian-S, SteveJ and 1 other
JoshC.
Could have been doing maintenance checks to / replacing the launch cable?
Aaron Tuckwell
"If you want to make a complaint you can go to guest services, or you could go and speak to the rides themselves" Although that's the type of rudeness that I've come to expect from Thorpe's staff, who, bar a handful of exceptions who actually like their job are pretty vile, this is the perfect comeback to some whinging idiot who is demanding everything goes their way... planenut
Stealth died in a big way last Thursday afternoon; then the engineers took the opportunity to replaced several parts on the "trolley" bed which were in need of attention. It is now up and running and no doubt will have the occasional hiccup on pressure and hot brake plates, but should be good.
