Benin
Probably trying to raise funds as no one visits the park... Tis difficult for me to justify the excessively long trip north for it when I've done everything there and nothing new has been added because they cant afford it... Shame they cancelled their lodge idea as it would've gone a long way to helping the park...

Fred
They're having their worst season so far... due to lack of investment. Shame, but unsurprising. If their management team ran Flamingoland it'd be good. Unfortunately I feel sorry for them.

The park doesn't have the best food, it's all fairly basic "theme park" food and it isn't cheap, a standard burger type meal is around £7 I think. In the past I've left the park and gone to either the café inside the entrance building or the restaurant in the shopping village just outside the entrance building, they're generally better quality, than the in park offerings. With regards to the restraints, I imagine that the only ones that might be an issue is Eagles Claw and Whirlwind, I would imagine that The Ultimate's would be relatively accommodating, and all the other rides shouldn't be any issue. Coaster
I am very saddened to hear that LWV are selling the "Wild River Rapids" as well. I know they were a travelling model but they were actually fantastic, and everything Storm Surge should have been! From my view, I think the park is being forced to sell this and Whirlwind as it is in a poor financial position, which is a shame as it is a brilliant park. Mitchada04
Doesn't look good for this park hope I haven't cursed it as 2 years after I went to Camelot which at the time of visit was also in trouble it closed. Hope LWV isn't the same. And unlike Knightmare they can't just move the Ultimate to another Park and it'll be a real shame to lose such an amazing ride like that! Fred
Knew Lightwater was suffering.. turns out they must be going completely down the swanney. Hope all the staff get jobs in Mingo and turn that place around. Although it doesn't have any of the charm that Lightwater has.

Matt 236
Deer me, this is not the best of news for the patk tbh. This won't do any good to the park's already dwindling attendance figures as the park really is struggling now.
Benin
Will it? Don't think Thorpe's attendances dropped when Stealth ran over a pigeon (or to be more accurate, ONE of the times it ran over a pigeon), nor did it affect Apollo's Chariot, and that incident happened on their press day... Lightwater's attendance will be affected by their lack of money to build anything new or interesting to get people to visit, not because of the circle of life... pluk

Pete_A
Hmm. themed to Dinosaurs.... Where will that be? What queue line could be re-used? Where could they put an immersive tunnel which needs to be hidden from the public as it's in a big shed? I sincerely hope its not going to replace Raptor Attack,
Coaster
Hmm, Raptor Attack's queueline is a tunnel with Dinosaurs... Hope they aren't going to use that for something else and give Raptor a standard boring queueline!
Graw
anymore news on this ride or nah?? I do hope raptor attack stays :-(
EC!
Good News Lightwater valley finally turned a Profit last year ! Lightwater Valley returned to profit in the year ending 31 January 2015, following several years of consecutive losses. The North Yorkshire theme park recorded a pre-tax profit of £110,000 as a result of the 2014 season, following £168,000 losses in the previous year. Company accounts show that turnover at the North Yorkshire theme park increased by almost 8%, to £6.28 million. The return to profit follows a number of years of loss-making at the park, which is operated by Heritage Great Britain. The years to 31 January 2012 and 2013 saw losses of £55,000 and £500,000 respectively. http://riderater.co.uk/2016/lightwater-valley-returns-to-profit/ stretchy

Matt 236
Good news! Happy to see them finally regaining a profit after making losses the last few years. There's of course still a long way to go before they're all sailing but it's a start.
JoshC.
Nice to hear. Wonder what their figures were liked this past year.. What's happened with the Immersive Tunnel thing? Is that happening this year or did the whole thing die away due to budget?
RobF
Is the profit a direct result of the sale of whirlwind ?
Project LC
Selling a second hand top scan for £278,000? I highly doubt they got near that for it. While I imagine it helped it won't be the main reason. Weather was good last year and the family entertainment industry increased a lot in general. RobF
Where did £278,000 come from ? The parks profit was only £110,
CharlieN
^They were already £168,000 in debt.
