Benin Posted May 7, 2013 Report Posted May 7, 2013 The problem with the station is because it's so big and has a vast expanse of plain concrete it looks so plain... Needs sommat to break it up more than the piping... Fake windows would have been a start... EDIT It LIVES! ATG Quote
Ricky Posted May 7, 2013 Report Posted May 7, 2013 It's not as though they can use 'its so big' as an excuse, I mean look at SAW the ride, which is a similar maybe even bigger building than Smilers. Quote
Fred Posted May 7, 2013 Report Posted May 7, 2013 Smilers is a bigger building, by about a third I believe. Quote
Ricky Posted May 7, 2013 Report Posted May 7, 2013 Oh really? Looks tiny in comparison Still, not the point! Quote
Benin Posted May 7, 2013 Report Posted May 7, 2013 That's cos it's behind a massive mess of track... Not plonked down... Quote
Ricky Posted May 7, 2013 Report Posted May 7, 2013 To be fair, theres no other way of having a warehouse. You don't go to industrial estates and find warehouses on their sides and in all sorts of frivolous positions aTOMic 1 Quote
holtjammy16 Posted May 7, 2013 Report Posted May 7, 2013 EDIT It LIVES! ATG It's testing!? Where are the videos Quote
Ricky Posted May 7, 2013 Report Posted May 7, 2013 I don't think it moved from that point at any time today, most likely put there on purpose to hype everyone up and make people stand there for 8 hours... Quote
JoshC. Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 So, there's someone above Kelman it seems...interesting! Can't wait for the fourth, and presumably final, part. Should tie everything together to show what The Smiler is and who's behind it explicitly, I hope (or at least set it up so we have a rough idea). I find it interesting that the second and third video both have "I'm posting this in the hope..." at the beginning, and that we don't know who this person is. Maybe something will develop there? mah boi Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 That voice of the lady speaking with Dr.Kelman, reminds me of the voice of the woman in Oblivion's queue, who says 'Oblivion bekons in T minus 5 minutes. Prepare for embarcation.' SteveJ and Graeme 2 Quote
JoshC. Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 Nicely ninjaed me there Benin! So, opening on the Thursday before half term I make that? Should give it a day or two to 'settle in' then. Quote
Ryan Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 Hmmm opens the day I fly home from Europa Park, might need a quick stop up at Towers on the Friday Quote
Benin Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 I'll be at Djurs Sommerland that day, riding Juvelen and Piraten... Denmark > Smiler confirmed... Quote
AJ Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 Dang It - I'm abroad - Will have to wait until June - However by then, all opening technicalities - should have been sorted and the finishing touches should hopefully be properly in place - so I can wait To be fair, theres no other way of having a warehouse. You don't go to industrial estates and find warehouses on their sides and in all sorts of frivolous positions This is true that the design of a warehouse is a bit restricted. But I have worked in many industrial estates and if I look around now I will see brickwork, buildings that have those metal ridges like shipping containers and actual shipping containers.....I don't see any cement block buildings.....but of course this is just my view from personal experience. Plus I didn't realise this whole ride was meant to be based around an Industry site (Perhaps I'm being dumb one way or another) Quote
coastercameron98 Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 Just saw this, must be testing as the train that was there yesterday has gone overnight, must be night testing and with the opening day looming they have to be testing it now but just at night. Credit for this picture goes to Towers Times Quote
Ricky Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 I can only assume they are testing probably an hour or so after park closes to early hours or the morning to avoid anyone seeing it. Builds the suspense a bit, I'm sure Alton towers fanboys are very disgruntled by this Quote
- Michael - Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 I might see if I can make a trip over there once my exams are finished, will it be busy in June before the summer holidays? Quote
alexander Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 I really hope the 'warehouse' isn't staying like that Other than that THE SMILER is looking good aTOMic 1 Quote
Topsyturvy15 Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 Looking at it now its gonna be hard to criticise, even for a fan forum!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont think ive ever seen another coaster like it, to do that much in such a small area. Only fast track could ruin it now pluk 1 Quote
Graeme Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 Or tight transitions giving a headache like saw! Quote
