Benin
That's IF they are actually coloured... IF... Plus, those faces are terrifying, make them go away Thorpe... In fact, make all your current awful branding go away... BigBobJones
Marc
I'm pretty sure they are just going to be grey, thats what I read in the plans anyway, but as said I'm sure they will do their best to make them look presentable.
JoshC.
Ah, fair enough, didn't realise that. As I've said, Merlin have done pretty well with styling their containers recently, so I don't see any reason why it won't happen with these ones. Especially consider people will be living in them and such.
AJ
To be honest, as they are going to be situated near the swarm, having the shipping containers (and it shames me to say this) will be better than having a flash hotel around that part of the park for 'theme sake' as you will probably see it quite clearly at that part of the park. Also for me the main reason I'm glad it's arriving is so I don't have to worry about getting home when Ministry Of Sound is on. It just means I can crash there (no pun intended) go to the park in the morning and go back home. It'll mean I can just attend the event that finishes after midnight rather than having to plan for it.
Bubbles1
You know this is on the opposite side of the dome, out of view from the swarm area, so it's more that Merlin aren't sure if a hotel will be worth the money
c1hrisin
Was just reading up the press release for this. * Club nights operate on selected dates throughout the season and some evening entertainment will be subject to an additional chargeThe price for the room is so cheap because they charge extra for better entertainment? pluk
As I've said, Merlin have done pretty well with styling their containers recently, so I don't see any reason why it won't happen with these Because they are not theirs. I really don't think snoozebox will be allowing Thorpe to personalise their boxes as they may be used elsewhere at other times
Marc
^ I guess, but by the sounds of it 3 years is much more permanent than anything else snoozebox have done so *hopefully* there will be some thorpness about them somwhere!
pluk
Hopefully you're right, but with the speed they go up and down how permanent are they? I'm thinking closed season redeployment, or even partial bits of it being used elsewhere off peak in season.
MarkC
Well the London eye wasn't initially a permanent attraction so who knows! Anyways I hope there will have fright night scare rooms... How cool would that be!
Ryan
I don't think you can compare the London Eye to these snoozeboxes I also don't think there would be enough room in the snoozebox for actors to move about, it's a small room! Sheepie
As I've said, Merlin have done pretty well with styling their containers recently... It's so devestating that we have to make comments about how one of the worlds leading attraction operators are styling shipping containers. We have theme parks reinventing theme park architecture and pushing the boundaries of what's possible. Merlin really have such a potential to be able to do this across their attractions. Instead we get cheap, recycled garbage teetering on the edge of acceptable. Luke_A and Sidders
AJ
Ah I was wrong with it being by Swarm then - even so - for somewhere I just need to crash for the night after a bit of clubbing I ain't in all honesty going to care about the fact that my room is not themed. Or the outside for it for that matter. For one thing whilst in the park - if it's not near the Swarm as stated and on the other side of the dome, well your only gonna see it at the entrance, not in park. The car park is mainly gravel as it is. Secondly when I'm sleeping there I won't be that fussed what it looks like on the outside. As long as I can sleep reasonably for the night I'm happy
Fred
Was just reading up the press release for this. The price for the room is so cheap because they charge extra for better entertainment? Probably one of the "entertainment" upcharges is the arcade in the dome. Towers used to say this regarding their arcade as well.
Deleted Users
well your only gonna see it at the entrance, not in park. Maybe so but it could be a very poor first impression to a day at the park, particularly for new visitors.
Tom
Plus you will be able to see it in the park. Think about how much the white events tent ruins The Swarm experience. Dan9, Sidders and Ryan

Fred
The best thing about the Swarm was the YourDay van in the middle of the mud. Alas, it left when they completed the additional theming

Fred
Ahh. This would've been for any eagle eyed spotters. Between ride opening and the final theming elements, they had a "merlin studios" van on the mud behind the queueline and station - could clearly see it from the lifthill if you looked left. However, as you looked on top of the truck, it was just a repainted YourDay van from towers. The top still had all the advertising and logos. Highlight of lifthill experience. jjh123horry
I dont know how much truth there is in this, but it seems likely (purely coz ifs so rubbish), but apparently they will be getting rid of Saw: Alive next year (2013) so they can build the platform for the boat, which will take you to the hotel and back. not sure if this is true, could someone enlighten me
AJ
From my understanding, Saw: Alive is strongly believed to be going as I think the contract for it has expired. There has been rumours of the boat to hotel and back as well but at this moment in time it's all speculation but a speculation that has a few peeps saying it
Benin
Will the hotel REALLY be that far away that a boat ride into the park would be worthwhile? Actually a serious question btw, would it be worth the cost of boat/staff/etc?
pluk
Not for the snooze box, that is just off of the dome. For the proper hotel in a few years time maybe.
