AdventureRyan
Or actually is that covered in terracotta tile? Hard to tell from the photo. But those of you with longer memories will remember when that dilapidated looking blue box had a dome on top of it! Courtesy of Thorpe Park Guide The problem with Merlin these days, its not the quality of theming, they just seem to lack a decent architect, just look at the Smiler station it could have been designed by anyone. c1hrisin
How old is that dome??
Zappomatic
The Burger King/Mexican Cantina and 4D cinema buildings would have gone up in 1986 as part of European Square. The photo AdventureRyan has kindly dug up looks like it would have been taken around 2002. AdventureRyan
Zappomatic
Just noticed the strange looking white panel poking out the top of the Burger King roof. This I think was a big sign saying something like "TOUCH DOWN!", and the inside of Burger King had an American Football theme with the floor tiles recreating the field markings, and American football memorabilia on the walls. Anyone remember that? Other than the outdoor seating being enclosed the layout in the restaurant is pretty much unchanged and the ceiling with its neon remains. Fred
Yes I do remember the American themed BK! Outside the wonderful old Flying Fish. Oh those days.. JoshC.
Cal
A stage has now been put up, does anyone know why? Is it for Summer nights? (Photo from TPG)
paige
Most probably I should imagine. Could be for the 'up and coming' performances Thorpe have, maybe they're having them outside for the summer, rather than in the dome?
Kerfuffle
...or maybe it's simply a devious scheme run by Thorpe to ruin the Amity theming!
Project LC
In the summer they normally have a load of these stages around. It will be for performers and entertainment over the next 2 months.
JamminGamer
It was for a live DJ to perform during Summer Nights, deck chairs were placed in front of it to sit and listen for a while
Zappomatic
Oh dear... because that area's not congested enough already on busy days!
Flipper
It was for a live DJ to perform during Summer Nights, deck chairs were placed in front of it to sit and listen for a while The Dr Pepper deck chairs are some damn sexy deck chairs. Just sayin'. JamminGamer
Mitchada04
New bright red shipping container has been put in place opposite Storm Surge, full of Coca-Cola fridges. Guessing it's a shop for the summer to buy drinks. It's an eye sore though (sorry about no photos).

Tom
Saw a youtube video ages ago of someone doing this with water or some other liquid - Didn't think it was safe for consumption but there you go!
Project LC
A few liquids can do this. If they are cooled to the correct temperature then all you have to do is give it a tap (or flip it) and then it will freeze.
Benin
What a strange concept... In Spain I encountered a general frozen vending machine, is this random piece of new tech fixing a problem we don't have? Frozen coke is a bit blergh...
