Still.. could be worse.. Bit OT but just what is that? I remember seeing that monstrosity when visiting and thinking WTF...
Bubbles1 Posted June 25, 2015 Report Posted June 25, 2015 It's the showbuilding. They sort of just gave up theming halfway. You can see the white from the Jurassic park area as well if I remember rightly.

Matt 236 Posted June 25, 2015 Report Posted June 25, 2015 Well, this makes those backsides to Disney's heavily themed rides a lot more forgivable, at least they are in areas outside of the park where only few will see it. That though sticks out more than Storm Surge ever could.

Celia Mae Posted June 26, 2015 Report Posted June 26, 2015 Back on the topic of WC16... Lots of activity on site today... Saw a big hole and foundations going in from Slammer, plus got a few photos. A moving digger moving piles of dirt higher than my head! Cement mixer and the drill (not drilling today). Plus one of the last-surviving pieces of arena fence! Still standing... Just. Blue fence trying to hide the hole they're digging for foundations... A very station-shaped hole. And finally... This is why Thorpe can't have nice things. The hole is presumably required to fit the attraction inside the building structure - the revised plans show it to be just over 2m deep (http://www.totalthorpepark.co.uk/images/other/2016revisedsideview.jpg). Matt 236 Posted July 5, 2015 Report Posted July 5, 2015 I guess we won't see major vertical construction until at least September/October time Judging by the hefty ground work we've seen so far, I think it's looking pretty fees able for an early summer opening now (maybe June), though that's not a bad thing as I expect to be hammering on with my final uni year March-may.
