L7123456 Posted August 20, 2016 Report Posted August 20, 2016 One week it's been closed for. Not good at all given that the ride has only been open for a month and is already suffering extended downtime.. Quote

ben199 Posted August 20, 2016 Report Posted August 20, 2016 Been to the park twice now since DBGT opened and both times it's been down for the whole visit. Obviously I understand that downtime is a thing but it shouldn't take three (at least I hope!) trips to the park to have a go on the new ride. Quote

At least the ads for DBGT appear to have been pulled from Facebook, the advertising while it was shut was what seemed to be riling people most on the comments. Quote

DBGT downtime, constant ride breakdowns, fastrack not to mention most of the park looks like a rundown sea side town currently. Whilst number one may be unavoidable, something certainly needs to change as the same problems have reoccurred most years and the park can't properly improve until these are resolved. Think it says a lot when the last good attendance year was 2011. Can't say I'm tempted to go back until Fright Nights. That's not really just lately though, they've had the same problems for like the past 10 years Quote

Cian Posted August 23, 2016 Report Posted August 23, 2016 Good Evening all. Is anyone aware whether Ghost Train was available today? Going tomorrow. Quote
MachoMachine Posted August 23, 2016 Report Posted August 23, 2016 Wasn't open today, testing sign on doors in staff area so looks like work was being done Quote
Cian Posted August 23, 2016 Report Posted August 23, 2016 Hopefully that tells us Thorpe are attempting to refine all the little issues (4D effects, computer's overheating etc.) Quote

PJ. Posted August 23, 2016 Report Posted August 23, 2016 Has there been any official line about this from Thorpe? No wonder Derren isn't saying much about his attraction. Quote
MattyMoo Posted August 24, 2016 Report Posted August 24, 2016 The official line will be that they won't update - they never do, the ride will just re-open! Quote
JoshC. Posted August 24, 2016 Report Posted August 24, 2016 https://www.thorpepark.com/faqs/ There's a couple of FAQs answered there, which is as much detail as we'd ever get. Thorpe don't like going into detail about why a ride is closed, and you could argue that for DBGT in particular, any more details could spoil the experience for anyone who hasn't been on it. Quote
Cornflakes Posted August 24, 2016 Report Posted August 24, 2016 Interesting that they seem to be suggesting it'll be open next week, they must have some confidence in that if they're putting it on the website. Quote
MattyMoo Posted August 24, 2016 Report Posted August 24, 2016 Blimey that is a first suggesting a reopening date! Always dangerous though mentioning dates... Cornflakes and Matt 236 2 Quote
Ian-S Posted August 24, 2016 Report Posted August 24, 2016 Anybody considered it might be something out the ordinary that's caused the shutdown? Like one of the mirrors got broke? Quote

MattyMoo Posted August 24, 2016 Report Posted August 24, 2016 It's not that, it's just maintenance Matt 236, KingNemesis and Cornflakes 3 Quote

MattyMoo Posted August 24, 2016 Report Posted August 24, 2016 Hence the wink The website mentions about if you've booked for the week of "17th-21st August" - and then about taking it out of action "this week" - assume by that they aimed to have it open for Monday 22nd but that hasn't happened.
