TraX
This topic is literally going round in circles. If anyone's got time, should put together everything we knew pages ago. I hope things move forward soon as IMO this has been a particularly long and uneventful topic. looking forward to Thorpe ramping this thing up before I forget anything is happening at all. JamminGamer
Regarding the red button! It was some kind of promotion the park did not long ago tied in with the classic Dr Pepper catch phrase of 'What's the worst that could happen?' in which a red button on a stand was placed in the park somewhere and when you pressed it something would happen. jukesy1992
I was there on May 11. Absolutely loved hearing the music live, and my friends were describing the shop to me. It was interesting that as you step into the shop the rest of the park audio sort of stops and you can just hear the music in the background. Then we went back out and they'd pumped up the music. I wanted to listen for a bit but we moved past that and enjoyed the rest of our day. Then suddenly I heard the music again and asked wait is that Ghost Train and while we waited for one of our friends to come back I just listened to the music for a good five minutes. It's one thing to hear it on YouTube but standing there, listening live, that's another experience. In the shop I enjoyed listening to the Derren Brown fortune teller talking a bit. It was interesting I found the handle things at the side, they reminded me of those steering wheels you find on rides that just go back and fourth in arcades and stuff. MattyMoo
Press preview must've been recently, probably when Derren visited. That article implies there wasn't much to errr preview... Opening May still? That article is titled "....facing more delays"
stretchy
What is odd about that review is that thy didn't say ANYTHING about what they thought about it apart from " while it certainly looks terrifying, many of the illusions were still unfinished and we didn't get to see the full mind-blowing experience" They didn't even say anything like, what we saw was fun or good. MattyMoo
It's almost as if the ride is so incomplete inside that they can't review it!

Wouldn't read into the more delays!

JoshC.
Seems odd that there's a couple of articles that have randomly appeared today, no? Like, we've known it's going to be delayed for over 2 weeks now and it's only a week after the planned opening date, so why is the media going on about 'WHEN WILL IT OPEN?' - just feels...weird?
Joester
Perhaps its just because today's a week from when it was supposed to open. It just rounds it off nicely. But you are right, We get no updates or news articles about ghost train and now this?
Coaster
I'd imagine the lack of detail in the review is down to Derren/Thorpe asking them not to give an opinion or details. Maybe it's just me, but I'm starting to wonder if there's maybe a bigger reason for the delay than last minute changes?
Matt 236
Yes, I think there are big reasons for why this ride is not open yet. Something is not ready.
Tom
The experience is not ready and not complete The ride will open when it's ready, and when it does I'm sure you'll all love it until 3 years time when it loses it's 'new ride hype' Source: Being far too old
James Allgood
If the ride isn't ready then that's fine! I know I would rather wait for the ride to be finished in good time rather than being rushed. We've waited long enough for this a few more weeks isn't going to hurt... Benin
Just shows how bad Merlin are at planning things properly and efficiently really... Proven by likes of Thirteen having finishing touches on the morning of opening... Need to plan things better, that simple, always feels like a rush job, irrespective of reasonings behind the delays... planenut
I do hope this ride is really good. I spoke with a staff member on Thursday, and he will be working on it and his comment was "if it works it's going to be really, really good". so, not much there then. JoshC.
Advert has been posted on Thorpe's Facebook; looks quite cool! https://m.facebook.com/thorpepark

javs
They must be fairly confident about it being ready in a couple of weeks if they have released this advert. Signs in the park are one thing, but a full advertising campaign is a pretty good certainty.
L7123456
The advert looks promising. They seem to be heavily pushing the idea of reality perception! End of May could be any day really from around the 20th. Friday 27th may be a more likely date unless the ride is 100% ready. The advertising campaign is a good move though. Will be keeping an eye out for it on TV in the next few days.

yeah
Ooh, thats scary! Also, does that all but confirm the train coming towards you effect people were talking about a couple pages ago?
swooddow
The advert is perfect for the ride ! , intense and scary enough ! , think may half term begins around the 27th , so makes sense for them to announce it then?
Matt 236
I can't wait until the rides open, then we can get the hype out of the way. This is like waiting for a tube train with severe delays.
