ThemeParkLover
It seems they fill 2 then don't fill the 3rd, they were doing that last time I went.
MattyMoo
Never seen this video before, memories of dat queueline <3 My favourite quote though: "Going for the longest, the tallest, the fastest is most parks answer for putting in a new attraction" Kerfuffle, slendercat, KingNemesis and 1 other
Cal
Never even knew X had a queue like that! Anyone know when that was removed and why?

Parts of the original queueline were repurposed for Fright Nights (Freakshow 3D, which later became Hellgate, and now Cabin in the Woods). The spinning tunnel you see in the video is the same one that is now the "static" tunnel in CITW.
Cal
I thought that while watching it, theres no way that would fit in the current queue line. Just knew nothing about it

Matt A
Might have been removed due to health and safety, heard from one of the staff members that that's the reason most of the queue is done outside instead of inside now. Shame really, interactive queue lines don't really seem to exist anymore
Matt10
That's what confuses me here in the UK queues are restricted so much by laws not allowing people in buildings, yet across all the rest of Europe, and even the whole world, some rides have fully indoor queues. Benin
It's a weird one, the indoor queue did get dreadfully hot over times, and the lifts were probably more burdenous in modern times... Like most of the original design, it was a daft idea that never really worked as a concept...
Coaster
Another point to note is that there's now a huge area of the old queueline unused, as (if I remember correctly) Hellgate used to use the entire rectangular section of the building, whereas CITW uses less than half of it. RobF
Fire saftey and number of staff needed to evac the building meant the ride could originally queue indoors, other time the staff levels were cut back to the point D started to be run with bag room, onload and operator. X used to have lift operators, offload (now back in use), photo unit ect which meant more people were able to support clearing the ride/ building
Matt10
Still annoying though how from experience, there are parks in Europe which have the same amount or less ops and are allowed a full indoor queue.
Benin
Is it an UK thing though? Hex, Duel and Laser Raiders all have indoor queues that are used on a regular basis (as in the outdoor extensions of Hex and Duel are never used)... Come to think of things there aren't that many rides that do have completely indoor queues...
Matt10
But in all those cases, they have fairly short queues, with few people in them, bar laser raisers, so they are said as fine, and laser raiders from memory has a ridiculous amount of fire exits. pluk
I think you have your answer with your last point - it has a lot more to do with building regs than anything else. A properly designed modern building can safety hold a lot more people than a 30 year old one which is made of wood partitioning with few fire doors and many obstructions, some caused by the internal fire doors themselves! X is safe as it is, but to safely hold more people an amount of work would need to be done which is not economicly viable.
