Deleted Users Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Come on Thorpe, you know everyone wants this ride. 4 water rides is plenty in our climate. They could all do with some TLC though. Tom, Coaster, mah boi and 1 other 4 Quote
ste193 Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Other than the stereotypical 'battle galleons' what new water ride could they add? What about about a flat/water ride like a Huss Delirium or a topple tower? Quote
Will Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 (edited) As much as I'd like a Topple Tower, Huss Delirium or a Top Spin. I don't think they will come: 1) Topple Towers have reliability problems and breakdown a lot 2) Huss Deliriums are amazing but they take up too much space and they'd be better suited for somewhere hot and with a lot of space 3) There is a Topspin in Chessington and Alton and I can't see them building one at Thorpe. Coaster Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 I have said this a few times but I'll say it again. Thorpe park should install a Topspin - but a well themed one with water fountains - think Ripsaw/Rameses revenge but with better theming. Quote
Coaster Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Not another word Yes, but I don't think we on the Thorpe park fansite represent the views of the majority of the general public who visit Thorpe. I reckon it would be quite a popular addition with most of the park guests - if you don't like topspins, don't ride it! Quote
Benin Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 There has never been a Huss Delirium built... Ever... And yay the annual Thorpe should build a TopSpin! Quote

Topsyturvy15 Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 What about some sort of water coaster e.g. Rollersoaker, no space I know but would meet Thorpes love of water and thrill rides Quote
Deleted Users Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Water coaster: No, unless water levels can be easily varied for colder times. Rollersoaker: Even ignoring all other problems, capacity alone would mean it could never work at Thorpe. Hence why 2 were ever built and the Hershey one at least is gone. Quote

Water coaster wouldn't be a bad shout, and cold weather is a poor excuse when the park already had Tidal Wave (and Scandinavian countries have them)... Quote
Deleted Users Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 I wouldn't consider it poor when the park already has plenty of water rides and I don't see who loses if you use a variable system like Jurassic Park rather than popularity completely dropping off when it's colder. Quote
Ryan Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 I just want a really well thought-out, highly themed, and fun Dark Ride. Bring Tower Of Terror over please! Quote

Fred Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Thorpe has shown us what it does to immersive well themed coasters. If they can't even look after that properly, they wouldn't be able to look after a dark ride. Quote
Mark9 Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Yes, but I don't think we on the Thorpe park fansite represent the views of the majority of the general public who visit Thorpe. I reckon it would be quite a popular addition with most of the park guests - if you don't like topspins, don't ride it! Whenever I see a top spin in a theme park, it is always the most unpopular ride on park. From the one at Gardaland, to Rameses Revenge, to the one at Parque Warner Madrid. And that seems to be problem, people don't find top-spins in this day and age that amazing, so no one rides them. Even Talocan at Phantasialand gets praise for its effects and theming but never really for the ride itself. Quote
Mattgwise Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Always the most unpopular to ride, but I must say it is almost certainly the most popular for spectators. Always huge crowds in front of them. Coaster 1 Quote
Coaster Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Topspins may be the most unpopular rides at those theme parks, but surley it could be more popular at Thorpe - a theme park that is aimed completley at Thrillseekers. FrightNights04 1 Quote

I'll relent then. I'd wish for something better then a has-been from the 90's but you seem confident that a topspin could work at Thorpe. Quote

Well obviously I'd rather have something better, I'm just saying that a topspin could work at Thorpe. Surley it would have been a more worthwhile addition than Storm Surge was? Quote
jom222 Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Just because it is better than Storm Surge doesn't mean they should get it. I don't want a topspin, there is already on at Alton and Chessington. Quote
