TraX
Thorpe was in the Metro today.. 'taking in people who have been hit by the floods..' (Suprisingly they forgot to mention they are the 'thrill capital'... Angry Birds.. or maybe sending out a flood water sweeper... or other such pre-season nonsense)

Ryan
Thorpe park and Alton Towers twitter accounts have had another war on which park is better... again... It's just a bit of fun creating hype before the parks open again. JoshC. and Marc
JoshC.
I quite like the little Twitter was the parks have. Creates a bit of fun, keeps all the Merlin parks in the limelight, and does no harm. More importantly, it's actually pretty decent - not like the cringey 'Thorpe Memes' or anything like that. EC!
Bit odd but somehow Thorpe Park was voted top place in Surrey for first Dates and romance... Supposedly. http://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/local-news/thorpe-park-voted-top-place-6751762
c1hrisin
Haha how odd, although it is a good place, not awkware silences, well you couldn't hear if there were anyway.. Lots of freedom and generally a friendly exciting atmosphere
pluk
THORPE PARK Resort @THORPEPARK 2m HAPPY HEIGHT DAY! On 22/23rd March we're offering FREE ENTRY to the first 500 under 12's over 1.4m tall! T+C's apply pic.twitter.com/afzTQV6hrZ Decent offer for the tall kids.
Mitchada04
It's also good in showing that you don't have to be a teenager to ride thrill rides. The average child is 1.4 at 8/9 years of age. And with the new more family aimed approach they should definitely push this fact which I think this offer will do very well. BigBobJones
As much as this is great for taller kids, it isn't if kids are shorter, how upset would you be if you had smaller children, they wouldn't get in for free and couldn't get on any decent rides! I guess you can't please everyone, I just wonder if the park will be extra busy with lots of people trying to get in on this free offer. JoshC.
I hit the 1.4m meter barrier between the 2003 and 2004 closed season (so when I was 9; wow I feel a bit old now...) Great marketing from Thorpe. When I first read this, I thought it said opening day, not opening weekend, so was a bit concerned.. But nah, it's a very good move from the park me thinks. JoshC.
Double post alert! Press Release about this all http://thorpepark.com/press/releases/2014/06-03-2014-HHD-THORPE-PARK.doc (Opens as a Word Document) Really trying to push the whole 'Something to do for the under 1.4m too'
OldFarmerDean
I think it was 2003 when I was 9, as I'm sure you had to be 1.4m to ride dynamo at alton towers, and think that was the last year it opened.

pluk
I noticed yesterday, rumors of the fatheads demise may have been greatly exaggerated. They may not be appearing on anything new but there doesn't seem to have been any concerted effort to actually remove them. They still exist all over the place, on in store advertising, those 'text your comments' posters everywhere, on games stall advertising, on toilet signage, on the exit bridge overheads. Basically everywhere. Would be nice to see everything move to the new style, I like it a lot.
Ricky
From what I understand its not an 'overnight' change and will take a year or two to finish the movement from the old brand to the new
