September 11, 201312 yr comment_168187 ... and closed again I think people are assuming it is closed more than other previous "new" rides as we can always find out now through ride times. Before if a ride went down you would only really know if you was on park. Today was planned maintenance as the twitter page showed yesterday. The park have confirmed through comments on that tweet that it will be opening again tomorrow.
September 11, 201312 yr comment_168198 Please be open on 28th/29th September knowing my luck it won't be.
September 12, 201312 yr comment_168223 Opened for an hour, stuck at the bottom of lift two, evac still in process. Rita yet to open today, Nemesis on 1 train... good times Towers.
September 12, 201312 yr comment_168225 I was on park yesterday and Smiler closed around 1 instead of 12 probably due to the breakdown it had just before 10. Air was on 2 trains 1 station in the morning and went to 3 trains and 2 stations in the afternoon. Nemesis was on 2 trains all day. Rita opened on time and was on 2 trains all day. Oblivion opened with 2 stations and 5 shuttles and went down to 4 shuttles and 1 station later on in the afternoon. Sonic was having usual issues all day yesterday, unsure about Thirteen but it was open!
September 12, 201312 yr comment_168229 Opened. Closed again. Lied about it re-opening. Evacuated again. Lol.
September 12, 201312 yr comment_168230 Impressive stuff.... hope Smiler starts behaving a little better by the time Scarefest comes around.....!
September 12, 201312 yr comment_168244 According to Ridetimes, The Smiler is back open with a 60 minute queue.
September 12, 201312 yr comment_168249 This really has had worse downtime then Thirteen had, its shambolic this is now!
September 12, 201312 yr comment_168259 I don't like the idea of having to play metaphorical "russian roulette" as to if the Smiler will be open or not when you visit - who does it think it is, Slammer?!
September 12, 201312 yr comment_168279 They opened it at about 4:30 and extended park operation to make up for the ****fest. Ryan had his first ride!
September 12, 201312 yr comment_168280 It's a great ride, wouldn't call it world class but it is very good.
September 13, 201312 yr comment_168317 The Smiler will be closed on Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th September due to planned maintenance. We are sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause Well at least they're learning the simple art of communication.
September 18, 201311 yr comment_168711 So Gerstlauer have this to say about the 'Infinity Coaster' (or Smiler/Karacho)... With all the excitement we still keep in mind rider’s safety. Our newly designed T-lap bars lock hydraulically and can be adjusted infinitely. This enables even children with a body height of only 1.25m to experience the Infinity Coaster. Besides an automatic opening of the T-lap bars the Infinity Coaster features automatic closing of the lap bars, too. The automatic closing provides time saving during the process of dispatch. By request the coaster cars are available with over the shoulder restraints. Sigh... Stupid Merlin...
September 18, 201311 yr comment_168715 lap bars are probably seen as unsafe, the same with woodies... well that's how merlin would see it anyway!
September 18, 201311 yr comment_168735 They must want their rides to batter the riders then. I mean seriously, what idiot asked for shoulder bars?
September 18, 201311 yr comment_168744 Shes a rough one, I rode her twice. The track shakes as you go over the trim runs and the serpent roll you can FEEL the track shake, as well as see it. Weird as.
September 18, 201311 yr comment_168749 It is most certainly an awesome ride, but yes very rough in places. It gave an almighty jolt on the cobra roll in the second part of the ride. Much, much more vicious than the jolt at the bottom of Saw in my opinion. Felt like the whole train shifted.
September 18, 201311 yr comment_168767 Strange. My first ride was saturday. I didn't get the train number I was in but it was row 3.
September 19, 201311 yr comment_168795 I found all three of my rides on this quite smooth, however, you could see the ride shift sometimes when off ride.
September 19, 201311 yr comment_168815 Rode it twice more today. Row 1 and Row 4 (I forgot to look at the train numbers). Row 4 is definitely more rattly however I was surprised at how smooth it was compared to some reviews. The jolts are still quite painful on the shoulders but I was happy to see The Giggler working again. I also observed the support on the exit of the cobra roll and boy does it move. More so than it should be I believe. All other track movements though seemed normal today. In regards to the inside section and what has been done, firstly the strobe is now working again (or switched on) but no mist, and there are still and awful lot of sandbags in there and what looked like bricks.
September 20, 201311 yr comment_168828 I'm guessing sandbags will be with regards to the flooding/drainage issues?
September 22, 201311 yr comment_168986 That optical illusion out of the inversion inside is messed up. I seriously thought I was upside down until I came onto the lift itself.. XD
September 24, 201311 yr comment_169155 went on 3 times today... notable jolts, regardless of which row you're in are on the first inverted drop, and the last inversion in the staffordshire knot - although I personally didn't find it too bad, you could hear people shouting ouch! Had row 2 once, and row 4 twice (have been on front row in my past visit) - I didn't notice it on the front row or second, but on the back row the last bit of the first indoor inversion is a complete mind **** I genuinely thought I was upright and still had some more of the inversion to go, really added to the ride - shame there was no mist or smoke at all! with the aid of the smiler, brought my going upside down count up to 66 for the day haha!
