Ironically enough, in spite of all the stories of massive queues that I had heard of previously, it seemed to run a flawless three train operation and so the queue remained at 10 minutes all day. I only had one go on 'Galatica' and I didn't think much of it all. Too brief and too rushed it doesn't have a long enough ride to create a story so it just rushes you through locations and then ends. I'd say I was disappointed but I wasn't. IF they had to have had VR it should have been on rides like Runaway Mine Train as then they could have created a story and have the ride length to justify it. On Air, it just makes a short ride feel even shorter which is quite a feat. Runaway Mine Train is perfect as it is thank you.

Alpenexpress is fine as it is but the VR is a whole new ball game! VR is a thing kids would like as it's cool, RMT would have been a great choice. Glad to hear it is running 3 trains two stations well though!

But wouldn't that get rid of all the force because there's a massive block on your face?

It's now struggling to do the tiniest of hills. That bend into the tunnel used to be full of force and now it's just really forceless.

June 30, 20169 yr comment_237634 Yesterday morning when I was queueing for this they were only putting 2 people on each row.. Is that a regular thing? Also, we got on the ride, put the goggles on, then were told to go back into the loading bay as they were closing the ride due to the rain, they let us wait for a while then told us all to leave the ride and queue this would be understandable if half an hour later I didn't see it running with guests on board when the rain was actually heavier and more wind had picked up! Was a bit of a kick in the teeth after queuing so long
June 30, 20169 yr comment_237669 Probably the head sets had packed up, on Friday they were doing the same and only loading 2 or 3 people on some rows because of dead headsets.
July 20, 20169 yr comment_238697 Surprised no one mentioned this, but this happened yesterday... Source: TST FB Apparently the ride was closed for a couple of days prior as well. Oops.
July 20, 20169 yr comment_238703 Apparently it reopened yesterday, but without the VR object. Air returns!
July 20, 20169 yr comment_238704 Wow actual physical changes to the VR then. Never thought we would see that. Unless for reasons only know to Alton there is no way of providing software updates with it all on the trains.

July 21, 20169 yr comment_238710 Apparently there was around 30 seats out of use across the 3 trains last week - im assuming they are working on getting these back up and running.
July 24, 20169 yr comment_238867 They'll have to find a way of keeping on top of it a seat at a time, rather than letting it get that bad and having to remove it completely occasionally. I wonder if it is problems with the headsets themselves, which should be easy to resolve just carrying spares to swap over each day, or if it is an issue with a part which forms part of the train which I imagine would be more of a problem.
July 24, 20169 yr comment_238884 Really? Just the day before were going too! Wanted to ride without VR
July 24, 20169 yr comment_238886 Just don't wear it then. Simple. I hear the S6's were overheating and crashing/destroying connections and that they were being upgraded to S7's, so maybe that's what's happened, we now have S7's in place.
July 24, 20169 yr comment_238892 They were originally going to use S6's but a few days before previews they were swapped for S7s.
July 25, 20169 yr comment_238945 Was originally going to be S5's, they struggled with water so they were S6's and might still be but S7's are on the cards or have happened since the downtime. They weren't to begin with
July 25, 20169 yr comment_238946 Well I did wonder how they were making the headsets water proof. Surely they could have got decent headsets that will last longer than 2 years before coming across as dated.
