MattyMoo
I think the most surprising thing in that photo is that is shows Chessington actually do try and maintain their rides. Who knew? Photoshopped innit. Cal, Kerfuffle and JoshC.

Mark9
Fury's ride managers at the time (around 2008 I believe) took it upon themselves to paint those supports. Time constraints meant they didn't get very far. pognoi and JoshC.
pluk
Fined £150,000 for the Tomb incident. Got of lightly I think, I imagine the kids injuries were thankfully not life changing, otherwise surely the amount would be higher for ongoing care. Read the article properly, life changing injuries, ongoing care. What the hell? The offending fence post... which pretty clearly shows the kid / parents wouldn't have to have been acting in any way inappropriately for her to go through it. And also shows that the prison bars/climbing frame are a bloody stupid solution for that problem.
Coaster
It's quite shocking to be honest that they allowed the fence to get into such a state, but making the entire queue feel like a prison was not the right solution. Maybe it was necessary for a short term measure at the time, but they really need to sort it out properly now.
HermanTheGerman
If you read the full statement from Chessington, it does highlight that the panel in question was hit earlier in the day. Perhaps it was kicked?
Kerfuffle
If you read the full statement from Chessington, it does highlight that the panel in question was hit earlier in the day. Perhaps it was kicked? Kids again maybe. We all know just how often they have their little temper tantrums whenever anything doesnt go their way! Benin
If you read the full statement from Chessington, it does highlight that the panel in question was hit earlier in the day. Perhaps it was kicked? Perhaps it had just fallen off due to the rot? Of course, if the park had been maintaining things properly (or in this case, actually doing so) it wouldn't have happened... Tis a poor excuse to say "It was broken earlier in the day" as surely if they noticed such a H&S risk they'd have taken measures to prevent guests falling through... Mer
As much as I don't like to see the park fined, I can't help but feel disappointed with them for letting the fence rot like that, it's not exactly acceptable. It's all very well saying kids etc might have kicked it - fence panels shouldn't just come loose from kids kicking them! They should be sturdy enough for that sort of thing, given the environment that they're in, and maintained or replaced properly to ensure they don't just fall off! pluk and HermanTheGerman
Fred
Shows how a simple - redo the entire queue line wood and ensure a checking system in place would've been adequate resolution to the issue. However, they decided to put security fencing in. Completely unneeded.
TraX
Falls and Runnaway look over sadly. 'If only they checked the status of us years before our knee-jerk removal.' I'm sure that all of the woodwork around (and including the pre-show room) of Zufari has been built to last. Right Chessington?? jon81uk

Matt 236
Not a bad lineup there, good to see Scorpion on the list. Surprised Tombs isn't appearing there this year (unless something's happening around there).
Ben1990
I didn't expect they'd open Tomb, but I'm not holding out much hope for work on the cosmetic side of things. I'm more surprised about no Jumbos if I'm honest
Coaster
I'll be very disappointed if Tomb hasn't had a spruce up when it opens in March, it needs it so desperately. The lineup is pretty good, may visit this event.
TPJames
Looking back at last years half term event, I have a feeling that they opened more attractions? Last year they opened: tomb blaster, bubbleworks, carousel, Seastorm, jungle bouncers, hocus pocus hall and flying dumbos. VS This year: Scorpion express, bubbleworks, carousel, Seastorm, hocus pocus hall and amaze treetop aventure. Seems like one less attraction on the line up, may just be a fault on my part however may be a slightly incorrect statement from chessington? HermanTheGerman
Last year's line up was actually just Tomb, Jungle Bouncers, Jumbos and Hocus Pocus Hall. None of the others were open as Bubbleworks had suffered fire damage, and Market Square was being refurbished, making it impractical to open Seastorm and the Carousel. TPJames
Sorry, my bad. Was bubbleworks, Seastorm and the carousel meant to be open as well though before the incidents/improvement works?
