Benin
So many better layouts could have been made instead of saw. Starting with a GCI Woodie... StealthRider, Whiteknuckle, Coaster and 3 others
holtjammy16
Never knew this existed, basically a slightly altered version of Saw
Project LC
A park where this sort of ride works. Thorpe should never have got saw as it is. The low throughput just isnt what the park needed. The woodie or even just another steel coaster would be far better, instead of the disappointment of the short, painful unreliable peice of junk we have now. And by far the parks most successful ride to date... (And I'm not a huge saw fan!) I know Saws pretty much universally hated among enthusiasts - theres no denying its was exactly what the park needed at that point in time. Project LC
Any thrill ride with the saw ip would have done the trick. Thats what I meant to get across.
Altitude
I hate it too, Mark, although I completely agree with you that it's exactly what they needed! A park where this sort of ride works. Thorpe should never have got saw as it is. The low throughput just isnt what the park needed. The woodie or even just another steel coaster would be far better, instead of the disappointment of the short, painful unreliable peice of junk we have now. It's not even that short, compared to Swarm and Stealth at least. Plus I don't know what the throughput is exactly, but whenever I've queued for it, I thought it went down at a reasonable pace! Might just be me though...
pluk
I quite like Saw. Except for the jolt that is, which is pretty inexcusable whatever the problem that causes it is. EC! and Altitude
Project LC
The throughput is about 800-950 which is pretty bad. I find the ride pretty short, although that is probably because of the pre lift section it seems short.
TraX
That version actually looks better than Saw! I wonder how it rides considering that Saw is the most uncomfortable Eurofighter that I've been on. Swap it with Krake already, or atleast a clone of the beast at Hansa, which has more scare, more atmosphere, more everything infact.. Apart from constant jolts and an IP (win win). Kerfuffle
Although I really do enjoy SAW, I still find the jolt a bit of a problem...considering on the last day of the season, the second time I did SAW and once we hit the jolt, I could've sworn it felt as if my spine was gyrated straight into my pelvis! Coaster
They could have had a woodie called Saw though - actually would have fitted better.
GladiatorFanKyle
How comes you cannot queue in the saw buliding? They make you wait outside for a while then they let a few people in and ive always wondered why they did it
Project LC
Its fire regulations. The building if full cant be evacuated in time if there was a fire alarm. So they limit the number of people in there.
Altitude
^ How come when the ride opened in 2009 they let you queue inside then? Every visit that year was the same.
Project LC
They also let you queue inside a large portion of X. They wanted to make it so it was with in the limits by a lot rather than on the edge and occasionally going over. I also think that the regulations must have changed. Fred
Imagine its risk assessments. Makes sense not to have a hundred or so people queuing on all the stairs in that building.. cos if you need to evac then the only way to do it is going back down the same stairs. pognoi
I guess cos I'm small, I've never had several rough circuits on saw. Infact I've only had one rough circuit ever, and that was last day of season. That's the same with Colossus, only ever had one tremendously painful circuit, normally can bare it. Even Rita I don't find too bad. The smiler killed me though. I don't like the smilers roughness.
alexander
Never knew this existed, basically a slightly altered version of Saw I am suddenly more appreciate of SAWs limited theming, christ. HermanTheGerman
I don't know why, but Saw to me feels like its has the fastest moving queue in the park. Whenever you move, you move on hell of a lot.
paige
I don't know why, but Saw to me feels like its has the fastest moving queue in the park. Whenever you move, you move on hell of a lot. The queue can go relatively quickly if you join it at the right time. I've been stuck well into the extended queue with a breakdown or two everytime I have queued for SAW bar two instances and that was only this year! Maybe I'm just unlucky.
