I know that any publicity can be termed as good publicity, but why would they use Watchdog to announce an opening date?

Unless they plan to try and divert any negative attention that will no doubt be the major focus of the show to have the host say afterwards "Now we have a statement from the park who have apologised for the delays and have since announced that the ride will open on X day"...

Surely there are better (and bigger) audiences to reach?

Just aired the report, anticlimactic to be honest; just repeated what we already know. But hey, good advertising!

Also apparently The Smiler will open tomorrow 11am! (Found out on the Internet, not watchdog)

Not opening till 14:00pm apparently

If it doesn't open until then, then only 3 and a half hours of opening time? Oh the staff are going to be there long into the night

The thing I will be interested to know is if there was another 'secret' element thing that they keep saying will be kept under wraps until opening. I don't wanna know what it is but I do want to know if there is one
