February 5, 201213 yr comment_131400 For those of you that want the full SWARM experience, I'd very very much recommend you go along on opening weekend. Why, are there going to be actors and things like there were for SAW?
February 5, 201213 yr comment_131402 Why, are there going to be actors and things like there were for SAW?There probably would be, victims, police and of course les coogan
February 6, 201213 yr comment_131404 I hate to add to the moaning a few pages back but the high metal fences and paving are IMO making this look just like the SAW areas so far, hopefully its finnished so that it does look a bit different though.
February 6, 201213 yr comment_131413 I would assume the high metal fencing is to stop construction workers from wondering in the way of a testing roller coaster...
February 6, 201213 yr comment_131414 It will be very different from Saw...The actual theming of the area, and the fact that the ride will actually be worth the wait...
February 6, 201213 yr Author comment_131416 I would assume the high metal fencing is to stop construction workers from wondering in the way of a testing roller coaster...They look pretty permanent, I dont mind them, they do their job, far to many times you see people jumping over ride area fences like at Colossus so these higher more industrial type ones hopefully make that abit more difficult. That and they do fit in with the theme
February 6, 201213 yr comment_131429 I had an educational tour today and oh my god does the swarm look awesome! We weren't allowed close up pictures but I can say that the theming looks even better in the flesh and also the fire engine is slightly submerged. The helicopter isn't as big as I expected but still looks fab. I will upload pictures later!
February 7, 201213 yr comment_131470 Update from the Dev'sSo we have BOTH the Fire Engine and Helicopter (proving people shouldn't panic about things not being there so early) ANNNNNNNNNND water splash by the Fire Engine...Just over a month to go...
February 7, 201213 yr comment_131472 :wub:Just amazing work on this rollercoaster. This next month can't go fast enough as far as I'm concerned.
February 7, 201213 yr comment_131473 I'm so hopeful of SWARM now, seeing the effort with the water splash and the further addition of the vehicles. I think until the Plants have made home I still believe it'll look a tad bare, but I'm so hopeful this will prove all of Pleasure Beach Experience wrong, and will be nothing like AIR; and also make them all look like twonks in the process
February 7, 201213 yr comment_131474 Dunno why people think it being like Air is a bad thing, Raptor was essentially a Wing-Rider version of Air and it was FAB <3I wouldn't jump the gun for believing it will be as intense as Nemesis and Inferno, indeed it might be more akin to Inferno with one or two potential grey/black outs in the ride...I think people knock less intense rides because we've been spoilt with Nemesis over here... Just because they don't pull the Gs, doesn't mean they're not good solid rides...
February 7, 201213 yr comment_131477 Woa! I have missed quite a few updates, this machine just keeps making me drool more and more. Great Pics!
February 7, 201213 yr comment_131491 That all looks well and truly amazing. I love the massive burn marks, explosion splodge type bits and extra decal details on the helicopter. Great work! Now as Mark said, February needs to gtfo ^_^Also, the mystery box area SW7 passes through a couple of times has some serious work to do
February 7, 201213 yr comment_131499 At least now we can stop complaning about the lack of proof of the firetruck and chopper. Now, bring on March! As for February, GTFO
February 7, 201213 yr comment_131500 How long is the water skimmer effect?Short, along that low section over the water. Hopefully they'll be like Raptor's that actially sprayed the riders!
February 7, 201213 yr comment_131503 According to Adz over on TTF (very reliable with information across all Merlin related things), there will be two water skims and the helicopter will have its own effects too.
February 7, 201213 yr comment_131504 Hopefully ensuring that both sides (again, as Raptor), get just as wet and interacted with as each other.
February 7, 201213 yr comment_131511 Looking at how 'nice' that fire engine looks makes me wonder why they haven't used the fire engine they blew up over fireworks? The more ruined look seem more suited. Meh, here's probably a reason behind it..Also, that website states a 'flaming fire truck', so it will be interesting to see how that goes down with a water effects adjacent to it...
February 7, 201213 yr comment_131512 Looking at how 'nice' that fire engine looks makes me wonder why they haven't used the fire engine they blew up over fireworks?Because it had been blown up?
February 7, 201213 yr comment_131513 Because it had been blown up? Well, it's not 'blown up' in the sense of smashed to pieces; just badly singed and ruined-looking. I'm not fussed that much tbh, but just seems a bit odd really - why buy a whole new fire engine when they can reuse one that fits the bill perfectly?
February 7, 201213 yr comment_131514 Blown up maybe, but it could certainly still do the job... Credit to Graeme Donaldson for the photo.
February 7, 201213 yr comment_131516 Maybe they're going to use it as an advert thing, or perhaps they have other plans for it.
