January 20, 201312 yr comment_148449 Actually, wasn't there a picture of the plans for a "2013 extension" ride taken from a PowerPoint slide going around some-where? Maybe X could be rethemed to be the extension ride? What do you mean by extension ride? Do you mean the coaster itself is going to be made longer or what?
January 20, 201312 yr comment_148450 What do you mean by extension ride? Do you mean the coaster itself is going to be made longer or what? He said "Maybe X could be rethemed to be the extension ride?" Meaning X being an extention of The Swarm's theme, not bolting X no way out onto the Swarm to make it longer.
January 20, 201312 yr comment_148451 I actually meant X being made longer not the swarm This has been mentioned before, X could well be themed to the swarm to show it is attacking in different places...
January 20, 201312 yr comment_148453 I have to say, if they do turn the back two rows round, the actual seats will look stupid. Think about it, the wings are going to be on back to front on the 'alien', asthetically I think itll be stupid. If it does go through it does give a newer experience, kind of after shock of going through/past things.
January 20, 201312 yr Author comment_148455 No, a while back some-one posted some concept images from The Swarm and on one of the slides had the heading "2013 Swarm extension" (or something like that) with a picture of aliens in a tube.. Made me think of the mirrors and hidden wall features in X's queue line..

They would most likely have the theming modified to fit in
January 20, 201312 yr comment_148458 Batman backwards being adveritsed as a 'limited time engagement' means this might also be a possibility with the way they advertise the Swarm changes. If the feedback is then positive, they could make the changes a more permanent feature. At least that way if the experience isn't improved they'll have a get out of jail card. Would make sense to me considering Six Flags have done the same.
January 20, 201312 yr comment_148459 But as if they would be literally taking the last 2 rows and turning them around.. They would most likely have the theming modified to fit in Well, the way some are describing, it could be literally as easy as taking the rows off and turning them around. If so, and if this is a 'trial' thing, then they may just do that. Fingers crossed they don't. Then again, fingers crossed they don't turn around the rows in the first place...
January 20, 201312 yr comment_148466 Hmm I personally hope (if they do this) they at least fix the train's theming to look OK. I really would love to have a go on it backwards though Maybe I'm one of the few that really likes the idea
January 20, 201312 yr comment_148485 Personally if this is to happen id like to see the front row scheme scrapped as IMO its never worked too well, ive found the station works best when theres no batcher and people sort them selves out, and if people wish to wait for front they can. As for back row, theres some potential here to divide the quite wide queues in the station and have a dedicated back row option, not sure how this would work with possible back row fastrack though. *Shudder* Take a trip to a Six Flags park and say that again. Basically as clever as you think people are, they cannot organise themselves behind the gates properly. Think Vampire.
January 20, 201312 yr comment_148489 It worked when there wasnt a batcher at Swarm, people just sorted them selves into rows and waited for the rows they wanted
January 20, 201312 yr comment_148490 I'm pleasantly surprised! I haven't seen it with my own eyes so I'll take your word. Thinking about it, Inferno works well without a batcher.
January 20, 201312 yr comment_148495 I don't think there is a need for a batcher, it would be a lot better without one.
January 20, 201312 yr comment_148505 I don't think there is a need for a batcher, it would be a lot better without one. I agree. Also because it's much better when you can chose where to sit. (I would've just liked your post but I ran out of likes aha)
January 20, 201312 yr comment_148508 Yea, they only put batchers though because if everyone wanted to go to the back there would be a long line for the back row, most of the time I go on rides without one and the only time I have had one is on swarm

Basically as clever as you think people are, they cannot organise themselves behind the gates properly. Think Vampire. In order to avoid this issue, I tended to assume most people visiting a park weren't particularly clever, and needed child like guidance or assistance throughout their day... Usually the kids made much more sense and logical decisions... Batchers make sense when regarding pairing people up in 2s and stuff on Inferno, since few people actually do it... Also helpful when the park is busy and those situations where you can't quite see all the way down t'other end of the platform if there is a space or not (see Colossus and Swarm)...
January 20, 201312 yr comment_148525 Guys I think we are getting swarms front row queue replaced with a back row one! This is not for certain but thorpe's website are dropping hints by re-adding fastrack and guess what, swarm front row has gone! Does this mean the whole train will be turned around, no kidding, LOOK! http://www.thorpepark.com/prices/tickets.aspx?tabname=park%20tickets I remember looking a couple of weeks back and seeing that fastrack had gone but now it has been re-added with swarm pole position gone, really freaky anyway it's good to see all the fastrack is staying the same price for the 2013 season and not going up
January 21, 201312 yr comment_148564 Nope, I am not buying it. They may turn around the back two rows (maybe), but not the entire train. That just rages on idiotic. While we as enthusiasts may like it, the sensation of riding backwards is not an experience many of the public would enjoy. Infact, I can see it putting many of them off. Just think of X and how many people throw up on it. I know the Swarm is alot smoother, but it is also alot more intense. It will be like puke heaven within a few months. Besides, the idea of the Swarm is to experience all the great scenery and near misses which you clearly can't do as well if you are riding backwards. As the saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"
January 21, 201312 yr comment_148569 has anyone just seen thorpes latest facebook post... it's a picture of the swarm in the station with a cover over the rides train... and they said 'We've got a surprise for you....' please don't let it be...
January 21, 201312 yr comment_148570 From TP's Facebook.... just beat me to it... and didn't know how to link a picture haha
January 21, 201312 yr comment_148572 WE'RE RUINING SWARM WOOO! Apparently the Batman going backwards is lasting a weekend... Which is weird... So how long will this go on for until Thorpe realise that it closing every 5 minutes due to vomit is not a worthwhile experience? [/cynicism]
January 21, 201312 yr comment_148573 Please don't be all the seats! The back ones if they must, but not all of them.
January 21, 201312 yr comment_148574 I think I can only express my feelings on this with 2 characters:
January 21, 201312 yr comment_148575 I'm completely indifferent to it all at this stage. But if this is a master troll attempt aimed at people like us, that would be absolutely hilarious
