Hello Edit: you people are so lucky, this webpage started not responding and I thought I had lost this trip report which I wouldn't have been bothered to write out again. :DI have recently got back from Spain and have decided to post a trip report on the fantastic Terra Mitica. The whole place looks stunning and every building is themed superbly, and when you enter it really does feel like you've entered another world.I don't understand how a park struggling for attendance can be themed and maintained so well, and yet a park like Thorpe Park, over-attended, has no theming in comparison and is poorly maintained.I was there from about 4.30PM till 10 and got on quite a bit, e…

  3. You always know a year is going to be good when you start off with a new B&M, 30 miles up the road from where you live. To continue the momentum, a trip to Paris and Parc Asterix was planned quite swiftly to experience OzSiris, a brand new custom made B&M inverter. The first day of the trip was seeing all the Parisian sights. Our first adventure was to the Louvre. We didn't go in due to it being far later (and more expensive then we thought) so we instead walked up the Arc de triumphe. I'll be frank when I say things are big in Paris. The Arc de Triumphe, Notre Dame and the Eifel Tower can be seen from all around and for me personally, I really admire the effort a…

  4. After saving up our Tesco Clubcard Vouchers for a long time, we used them up on some Merlin passes. The plan was was 3 fold. 1: Over the period of a week, during the summer holidays; Journey up to Warwick to visit Warwick Castle and then Alton Towers, the next day. (Hotel in Solihull as base.) Part 2 was to journey south to Kettering and meet my folks at Wicksteed Park, a park I used to frequent as a kid and one that I have lots of memories of. Part 3 was to carry on south to the inlaws in Essex and use that as a base for Thorpe Park and Chessington. A busy week but one that I was hugely looking forward to.....So, on to our first park/attraction then - Warwick Castle…

It's not fair having a Birthday in February, most other times of the year you can celebrate this sacred day with a special trip somewhere nice (with creds of course), but in February your options are seriously limited. Knowing I wanted something at least a little adventurous for my special day, I did a bit of research into what's open in Feb these days. My research came back with 2 parks and 2 parks only, The Milky Way Adventure Park and Crealy. After convincing my friend, who said he'll do it for the league, we set off on the freezing cold Sunday morning. The drive went surprisingly well, which is a rarity for me (don't worry it all goes wrong later) and soon…

Back in late October I embarked on an Epic Halloween trip taking in 7 parks in 7 days, these were Legoland, Thorpe, Chessie, Plopsaland, Bobbejaanland, Walibi Belgium & Belleawarde. This is just taken wholey off Coaster Force as I cannot be bothered to re-do it!Day 1: LegolandHighlights: The fireworks Dragon in the dark CF'ers =D Lowlights: Jungle Coaster, its now ruined! Day started off with me awaiting for Jordan to arrive as there were people stuck in traffic. Once we got in, we met up with the others and took on the boating school's 30minute wait!!!!!!!! There was lots of little antics throughout the day! Rapids were a big shock how violent they were! Fireworks jus…

N.B. I realise this review may include details about the new Dungeon that people have read about on other websites already - apologies in advance. Today I have been to the new London Dungeon at County Hall. I arrived at Waterloo about 2:30pm, and took the short walk to the Dungeon, arriving about 10 minutes later. On approach, the Dungeon isn't as large nor heavily advertised as I expected. I immediately saw the normal queue, and as expected, wasn't short. I was pleased to see it was well-organised though, and not spilling out onto the walkway outside County Hall. The front entrance to the Dungeon is quite plain, with glass doors contantly open, and the main entrance sp…

Remember this?... Well, on Saturday the 26th of September 2009, The Ride-Guide are re-attempting the infamous challenge at Pleasure Island. This year will see the challenge go national with a host of other websites and forums invited to take part. How many times can you handle riding the Huss Frisbee, 'Pendulus' ride at Pleasure Island consecutively before you give up... or throw up!Places on this challenge may be limited and therefore a lottery style draw out may be used to pick candidates for the challenge...So, are you interested? If so, get your name down in this topic and let the preparations begin.Further details will be given in due course but if you have any quest…

Yes I really struggled this time with an appropriate title for the trip topic. I did my best but hey ho. Well, for my birthday, a trip to PortAventura was planned. Shambhala was a big part of this decision, but also ever since I was 16 I wanted to ride Dragon Khan. It was up there with Kraken and Nemesis as a ride that I wanted to do at all costs. So with hence our trip was planned. Getting to the park is a breeze and luckily our room had a fantastic view, overlooking the park. Seeing Shambhala and Khan together, along with Stampida, El Diablo and a hint of Furius Baco was enough to please me for the time being. So along came day one in the park. People are in upr…

  10. With the opening of a certain iconic coaster looming, I rather foolishly decided that I would celebrate the occasion by marking it as my 400th coaster. In order for that fantasy to become reality I was going to need to step up my current UK cred hunting streak... This week's adventure took me to the lovely (it really isn't) seaside town of Weston Super Mare. The first park for today was Animal Farm Adventure Park, which is located on farm land (imagine that) around 15 minutes from WSM. After paying the shockingly low admission fee (currently £9) we were ushered straight in without being given tickets, that might be a first.…

So my friend is going to Thorpe on 3rd April and wants to know how busy the park will be. Also, he's doing fastrack ticket option which means he gets fastrack for swarm, inferno, saw or Colossus. Which one should he chose?

  15. Just wondering who will be going to the Thorpe Park preview day on the 19th of March? Me and Mer managed to get tickets so we will be going. I'm looking forward to going a week before the official start of the season. Can't open soon enough now! Annual Pass days are always nice and quiet so hopefully we will be getting plenty of rides in ahead of the opening meet. If you were fast enough to get tickets, we'll maybe see you around!

Basically guys, I'm going to Thorpe Park on wednesday (13th April 2011) and my mates have ditched me at the last minute. I have a merlin pass and I will be going, but how would you recomend I spend my day at 'The Nations Thirll Captial'?

  17. PREVIEW TIME: 6pm - 10pm RIDES OPEN: The Swarm, Stealth, Nemesis Inferno, Colossus, Saw: The Ride The event started at 6pm with a speech from "The Ringleader" before we were let in at about 6:15pm. It was a great evening with a good atmosphere, and queues were fairly short apart from on the new maze - The Big Top. We headed to My Bloody Valentine first which proved to be a good move, as I read reports afterwards that The Big Top didn't open until 7pm, and Cabin in the Woods was also delayed in opening. From there we did the mazes (apart from Blair Witch as it had a very long queue), doing some again which were near walk-on and some night rides before getting in …

I am planning to go to Thorpe park sometime in summer. I am not planning to do any of the more intense flats or saw/ Colossus. From looking at queue times, I have realised not to do depth charge or swarm first. Is it a bad idea to do storm surge earlier on when there are shorter queues? Any tips would be much appreciated!

  21. Started by mmaarrcc25,

Oh my god what a great day! I had no problems at all - well, the only one was The Swarm - it just fitted me! Nemesis Inferno at the front was easy to put over me, as was Saw (awesome ride). Stealth was absolutely brilliant - so much better than I expected! Can't wait to go back think gonna get fast passes because the queses are so annoying!

Thorpe Park - Thursday 13th September 2012 'Cast' - James (Me) - Loves theme parks, and will grab at any and every opportunity to get some ride time! Giordan - My closest friend, loves the Disney theme parks and skipped college for this trip! Ash - Giordan's brother. Fellow Queens Park Rangers supporter, and all round good guy. Emily - Ash's girlfriend. Serial on-ride screamer! This was my first trip to Thorpe Park since July, and my first trip for sometime going with friends. Usually, my trips to theme parks are with family! I managed to save up the tokens that were in The Sun recently, and was given this date to go in return. Any chance to go to a theme park…

In 12 hours, I'll be navigating my way through busy streets of a working day London, trying to embark on a mystical, magical, really really long 4 week trip to America! America, the land of Hershey, Hot Dogs, guns, awesome natural phenomenons and of course... theme parks! I plan (and probably won't follow) to take you on the journey with me as much as I can, by recording parts of my journey in pictures and write ups on this page! I'll try and post pictures from each major visit I go on... E.G. Each time I visit a new state, theme parks, natural wonders (like Niagra falls, Ucemity...) Hopefully my reviews and reports will give people an insight of what I enjoyed and…

Hello everybody! I guess some regulars here will know me as I've attended a meet and plan to visit Chessington with you this weekend. (otherwise I'm quite quiet apart from in the chat). Now, as a few of you are aware, this year exams end quite early. And being in exam season, I get essentially 13 weeks of summer holiday this year. Now, what normal rollercoaster enthusiast would spend this time sitting around twiddling thumbs and playing RCT3. Well the answer is me last year, but this year, after joining this wonderful community, I want to give something back, especially to people who are free, or my sort of age. This year, I plan to organise up to 3 mini meets, with me…

I thought it might be nice to make a thread especially made for sharingtips for fright nights at Thope Park, as we all know how busy it gets!Heres mine: Arrive at the park at 10 O'clock. Go straight to the rollercoasters and get a few rides in: Most people wont arrive until 12 so it is worth making the most of the 'quiet period'. When it gets to 12, most people have now arrived so have your lunch, and ride a few wet rides and silly rides (like the teacups) just for a laugh with your mates. At 3:15, choose a maze and get in the queue for it. By the time you're out the maze, it will be dark, and the queues for rollercoasters will be well worth it as in the dark they offer…
