General Discussion

General Thorpe Park discussion. Rides, attractions and events.

  1. Started by GERSTGUY,

Seriously! Back in 2008 when I first visited the park was arguably the most exciting park in the UK due to amazing investments the park was installing each year! Now every new attraction is either a maze or “experience” and the fact they turned their only “good” family coaster into a horror themed attraction is just ridiculous! Why don’t they add any new coasters or flat rides? It’s becoming such a bore! The last decent addition was in 2012! The 2nd hand kiddie rides they’ve added to old town don’t even blend into the area they stick out like sore thumbs with their colourful colour scenes and old “theming” Why have they…

https://www.thorpepark.com/resort-information/food-drink/restaurants I'm not sure if this has already discussed on here, but the Coffee Shack in the Dome is going to start selling Costa Coffee and their food. I think it will be nice to get a cup before I leave. I wonder if you will be able to get MAP discount here?

Hi guys! First thread for me is fittingly about my first ever visit to Thorpe. I visit towers quite often and decided to attempt to get 12p tickets, which I somehow luckily achieved, thus I'm taking my mum and younger sister to Thorpe. (Both are above. 1.4m) We're visiting this Saturday the 1st July and wondered of any tips or a day plan if possible? We may purchase a one shot fast track if its mega busy (which is affordable considering our ticket price). I and my sister will be riding all the coasters and flats, whereas my mum will stick to anything that doesn't invert (she's past her thrill seeking days). So yeah, if you guys could shoot us some ideas of a plan and s…

So I'm sure most of you have been on the reverse facing seats and smashed through the new devastated billboard. So hear is my 3 question poll: 1.In your opinion do you think the new backward facing seats is a good addition to Swarm?? 2.Do you think the new Billboard near miss is a good addition to Swarm?? 3.What is your favourite near miss?? Vote away

Sorry guys about this 'late' entry, I never got round to doing it yesterday: Just to remind you, you vote on these three questions: Would you ever ride it? Would it fit in at a UK theme park? Would you put it in thorpe park? The ride up this week is... Extreme ride! There are many versions of this but I have got a video of the 4 arm one, of course if thorpe DID get one of these they would be better off with a 6 arm: So guys, get voting and most importantly... Could it be the 2014 ride at thorpe park?

Without planning too much I had intended attending TP today to catch some reasonable weather and before my shifts start again - to find last evening that it is not open. I may be the only one, but Fright Nights are of no interest to me except for perhaps getting some late rides, be it with an extra payment. Annoyed I'll now have to think about doing some things around the home. Frustrated that I haven't ridden a coaster since Sunday, and not much time left.

Seems like @THORPEPARK took my suggestion from the Questions to THORPE PARK forum. I think they owe me 10% of profits from these days...which looking at the prices 10% will pay me alot! http://www.thorpepark.com/plan-your-visit/vip-your-day.aspx Dont worry, that is the most expensive package...they start at £50

Does anyone else have these random things in life that just make you think of Thorpe Park? For me, it's these things every time! Dr Pepper I've never been a big fizzy drinks fan, but ever since they used to give out free Dr Pepper at Sun Scream, the taste of it always takes me back to Thorpe Park around 2009ish era! Dolly Parton Every time I hear Dolly Parton I am taken back to Loggers Leap's queue! Water fountains There's a particular smell that seems to come from water fountains in shopping malls - maybe they use the same type of cleaner/chlorine, but the smell always reminds me of Tidal Wave! Ar…

Wasn’t sure whether to start a 2024 topic or one just for the map. In any case…. The 2024 map has been released. 2 main observations from me. One - seems strange to build the UK’s tallest coaster but opt for your map to be a 2D top-down view meaning you don’t see the height of the new ride. Two - they’ve very clearly put defined areas back on the map again here, but haven’t put area names on. This seems really weird?! Either commit to the themed areas or don’t have any at all. I think it makes the layout confusing as to the average guest there’s no rhyme or reason why certain rides and shops are grouped together. In any case, Sa…

It's 3am, can't sleep and thought this would be an interesting poll as at one point these were the only two "big" coasters at Thorpe and its not been done before! I have a feeling I'll be shot down for even asking and for what my answer is, but it will be interesting to see everyone's opinions I have to say Colossus. Inferno is a good coaster and yeah it has some great, forceful moments (which often result on me coming off with a headache!) but it just doesn't do it for me for some reason. Yes it's fun but at the same time I find myself bored, dare I say it! Pre-lift is good fun, first drop with the kicker is good (and better than Colossus'), loop, zero-g and that turn…

www.getwestlondon.co.uk/news/west-london-news/thorpe-park-firefighters-called-rollercoaster-12906683 I can't beleive the stupidity of these idiots what on earth possesses someone to break into Thorpe Park and attempt to climb a 205ft roller coaster! I hope the park take serious action against them. Its one thing to break into the park let alone to try and climb one of the uks tallest roller coasters.

Sure, it's far from perfect, but this is the Thorpe fan site - If you're reading this forum, you must love the place to some extent? So why not share why?! Let's bring back some of the glassy eyed excitement we all used to feel when using these forums Please let us all know what are your 3 favourite things about Thorpe Park. Why do you love the place? Apparently, last Sunday was the worst day ever for trouble being caused by the traveller community who were at the park in large numbers. Several occurrences of queue hopping, pushing and it seems fisticuffs, due to this type behaving in their unsociable way. Glad I didn't go over until Monday.

Thorpe is full of hidden secrets and Easter eggs, and the internet is full of videos and websites listing them (this is one of the better ones). I used to consider myself a bit of an expert on Thorpe Park - I knew every little detail, in ever corner of the island, but my attendance dropped a little in recent years and now I'm not sure I'm quite the nerd I once was! I learned of a few new ones from that article! I thought It'd be interesting to hear if you know of any little-known hidden details (Easter eggs) at Thorpe Park? My favourite one is probably the high water line on the KFC building from the tidal wave!

We perhaps all have a habitual awareness of our personal items when on rides, and everybody is encouraged to secure loose items. Yesterday whilst on a ride, yes it was Stealth, a twelve year old girl was injured by being struck by a mobile phone. She was on the front row, the loser of the phone was in row eight. That phone, allegedly, was in a teenagers zipped pocket. As we on this site, all understand that on the brake hill, the severe braking induces an opposite effect on gravity, with all loose items then being thrown forward. Sadly, the phone hit the girl on top of the head causing a cut, and I dare say, bruising, it took a while for the bleeding to stop. Being…
