Whiteknuckle
Having ridden both Kennywood's and Dollywood's swings, Rush is falling off my favourite Thorpe flat ride slot.
RobF
Little closed season update from thorpe park.... Posted by Thorpe on Facebook Has the top been off rush since opening ?
Cal
The top was taken off today. There is a video on thorpes intagram of it being removed. Seems rush is having a lot of maintenance this year. Don't think the top of rush gets taken off every year?
Mitchada04
Don't think it's a yearly job but it has definitely been done since opening in 05.
Marc
Pretty sure the top comes off every other year!  I think one year the tops of the supporting arms were taken off too. Chaz
JoshC.
Rush is meant to receive more specific attention every 3 to 4 years. Â The last time it had such extensive work done to it was the 2011/12 closed season I believe.
Kerfuffle
The extensive work could also relate to the amount of strain Slammer's had the last two seasons. Considering it's also an S&S ride, they'd have to make sure Rush is also in working order.
Olistjj
Noticed the swing furthest from the booth is still under achieving on height, not as much as before though. Â Also what is the mud hut??

LK_
I've heard that even now one of the swings doesn't achieve its full height, anyone know which one it is so I can get the higher one

MattyMoo
Just spotted this reply - oh dear. Still showing as down #PrayForRush
MarkC
There was a cherry picker working on it yesterday. Storm surge also down all day with new ‘dont Stand up or you’ll die’ kind of signs being put up around the ride. streetmagix
I was at Thorpe today and took a few pictures: http://imgur.com/a/grbzd  From my untrained eye it looks like they are replacing both sets of cables, cherry picker is still there as was some specialist tools and even a can of coke on the ride vehicle. No work was taking place during operational hours though.

Krazycoaster
Thorpe have just confirmed on Twitter that Rush will be closed for the rest of the season for maintainance, quite disappointing really, was hoping to get some rides in over FN. JoshC.
I guess it wouldn't be Thorpe without a meant-to-be operational S&S ride closed from September onwards...
rush
Reading another group on FB giving the impression rush is being removed. Please say it's not true ??
Coaster
Disappointing and leaves me with little enthusiasm to visit Thorpe before Fright Nights, it just seems to be more and more rides closing for a sustained period of time (or permamently in some cases).  Of course it's difficult to comment on Rush as it's obviously closed for a reason, but that's the issue when you already have several other rides & attractions closed, one or two more leaves the lineup scarce as well as putting more pressure on the rest of the park.  May as well rename Thorpe to SBNO Island the way things are going. Ringo
There’s only one other attraction closed ( I’m a celeb) so it’s not as bad as your making out
