March 12, 20169 yr comment_229438 It will be disappointing if the tower doesn't get built. I remember the debate a few pages back about budget cuts being made to the attraction after a few years - it's really not good if they are happening before it has even opened. Who's to say it is down to budget cuts? Maybe they've simply had a change of heart? And if it is down to budget cuts, I'd much rather them cut a (run-down looking) tower which is just there for show, than something inside the building.

Of course it can't be put down to budget cuts completely, but I would say that it is the most likely reason for the decision to axe it considering the financial position Merlin are in at the moment and going by past projects. I agree that it's better to axe the tower than something in the building, but neither would be nice!
March 13, 20169 yr comment_229499 I don't think it would have been too much to ask to retarmac the surrounding area instead of those criss-cross gulleys where they've laid new cables etc underground. Other than that though - looking good
March 13, 20169 yr comment_229506 They have a nice looking run down warehouse which looks far better than what I thought it would and then the floor in front of it looks a complete mess.
March 13, 20169 yr comment_229510 I'm liking how accurately they stuck to the plans unlike past rides where they changed the theming. Here is my 3d render again for anyone that wants to compare the plans in 3D to the built thing http://m.imgur.com/a/IOHwW
March 13, 20169 yr comment_229521 Just a few of the pictures I took today! The building looks amazing in person, however the open plaza around it seems very plain with nothing around it. Preview Day seemed really busy for some reason, probably cos of the break downs and the ride closures. Noticed a few people from the forums today! Hope everyone there had a good time [emoji567][emoji322]
March 13, 20169 yr comment_229525 The shed really doesn't look so bad in person, I can think of much bigger dark rides with sheds sticking out.
March 13, 20169 yr comment_229535 Nice to see they've gone all out to hide the shed... The shed could just be a part of X to the average person.
March 13, 20169 yr comment_229536 The shed could just be a part of X to the average person. Apart from the massive gap between the shed and the X pyramid.
March 13, 20169 yr comment_229537 Apart from the massive gap between the shed and the X pyramid. The gp will believe it trust me
March 13, 20169 yr comment_229539 Anyway, you won't be able to see the shed from the angle in the picture above once the trees grow.
March 13, 20169 yr comment_229552 It'll be another plant box as the queue on the left is still being extended back as well. The tower isn't happening.
March 13, 20169 yr comment_229554 Possible tower location?? Or just more bloody plants? The tower was meant to be a large feature, placed roughly opposite the exit to the arcade. So we can only assume the tower won't be happening. That location is likely for plants. On a different note, to the people complaining about the lack of anything in the ride's plaza: Does this *actually* have a plaza? Surely everything outside the queue line is just a major walkway for the park, and not a plaza in the sense of Stealth, Swarm and Saw?

March 14, 20169 yr comment_229707 Not much to do with this, but I'm going to see Derren Brown tonight. Exciting stuff. I've seen him before, but I'm actually a little nervous for some reason. Plan not to end up on stage!
March 14, 20169 yr comment_229718 Until five years down the line when it's never been cut and is overgrowing and covering up all the building. The grass is a brilliant touch.
March 14, 20169 yr comment_229720 The abandoned/destroyed theme is a tried and tested Merlin favourite and means that any neglect in the future just adds to theming Props though for the entrance to the area - that gate and metal logo does look awesome.
March 14, 20169 yr comment_229727 The grass is a brilliant touch. Thats beautiful. Let's just hope they can keep it that way.Sent from my SM-G361F using Tapatalk
March 15, 20169 yr Author comment_229744 Until five years down the line when it's never been cut and is overgrowing and covering up all the building. Pretty sure they thought of that and it's not real!
March 15, 20169 yr comment_229747 Lots of nice touches on this facade. Although I'm glad they went for a theme different from recent additions.
March 15, 20169 yr comment_229748 It's scenically detailed nicely with the building shape they were given, yum yum. Can they knock down all their previous attempts to do 'the abandoned look' now that they've done it to an eye-pleasing standard?
